The SD-1 is classic and probably the best $50ish bucks you can spend. I had the Wylde Overdrive and it still cut bass almost as much as the SD-1. I ended up getting the MXR CustomBadass OD with the 100hz knob and it's basically the SD-1 circuit so it works super well. I'm probably going to get the new Wylde Audio pedals just to have them. I'm really looking forward to that wah. It's a one of a kind.
Yea his new ones certainly look cool and that phaser adds a good bit of gain when you use it
Both sound great to me.
I have both of these. The SD1 was my first Overdrive pedal, and I fell in love with it from the beginning. Later, bought the ZWO. I don't regret it. Both of them are amazing.

I had an old mxr wylde overdrive, it was great and maintained the low end, but I still have my sd1

In that comparison I like the Wylde OD better. But to be honest you can't go wrong with an good old SD1, but for my taste the SD1 lacks a bit of volume boost and can sound a bit to abbrasive. I mostly use my OD to be a slightly dirty boost pedal into a amp that is on the verge of break up.
Also try a Boss OS2, it was the secret weapon Kurt Ballou used for a long time, it is dirt cheap (I got my used OS2 for 25 bucks) and sounds incredible. Just like a tighter SD1 with way more volume on top, and it can get pretty fuzzy if you blend in the distortion circuite.

John 5 uses the sd1 right outta the box..i have it..an 808 and a ts9..started with the 9 n loved it..moved to the 808 and liked it more...then to sd1 n stayed with it and the 808 on the board

Always impressed how well Boss stacks up against ANYTHING, really... 🙄
I have WAY more "dirt" pedals than I'm comfortable admitting to -(ODs to Dist - to Fuzz etc etc)
With rhe ODs especially, I'd say 85+% of em can get REALLY close to any the others ( sometimes a few tweaks, others a stack or boost needed)

@@jeffhunter9311it went a little better. The nut is very high. Not a huge deal and i think i like it over the stealth
@TheDistortionPrinciple Your Legacy B looks sharp and sounds great you look comfortable playing it I have narrowed it down to the Pearl White Legacy B or the Legacy B Exotic natural KOA I will not use the extra controls but they both have the same pickup

Cheaper, built to last and iconic. Cant go wrong there!
Also used by so many players that are better than Zakk In my not so humble opinion

Kinda a pointless video without a sample of the dry signal? You could be using a 5150 or a Mesa on gain channels with diff settings etc 😂. Next time play a small riff without pedals engaged THEN engage . Novel ideal eh?
