It has to be the SD1. Underrated but classic pedal.
Agreed 😊👍
I have a few Fortins and several TS etc. but still most of the time end up using SD 😎.
For the tone and the price the sd1 is a no brainer.
Great video (as always)
Yeah!
Thanks Steve!
SD-1 all the way for me. I have one also, so it's a sound I'm very familiar with.
👌💪
Agree that SD1 is my choice from listening. A little less fizzy, a little more clarity and openness, creamier leads. I liked hearing it through both amps too.
Good 😎👌.
Love your videos! The SD-1 killed the others! Cheers from Mexico!
Thanks! Glad to hear! Yeah it just has that something 👌
Love your channel brother. That zakk amp sounds amazing!
Oh thanks! Really glad to hear! It does indeed 👌
I Love the boss sd-1, such a great pairing with marshalls, it simply brings the right frequencies.
🤟👌
Your tone slays brother. I’m always blown away
Thanks Matthew!
They are very similar, but there are some minor differences. SD-1 is a classic that always works!
Yes.
As far as I remember, the ZW-44 is a SD-1 clone with a input buffer and no output buffer. The 1M gain pot makes it potentially a harder clipping version of the SD-1.
Sounds about right 😎👌.
No bad sounds here, and I too like an SD-1. First pedal I bought back in 1992, still have it, still use it.
Thanks!
Likewise 👌😎
Thanks Euge just the info I was seeking
Cool! 🙏👌
If you haven't yet, you should try the Boss OD-200. It now takes care of most of my OD needs. Sounds great and even works as a preamp if needed.
Thanks for the tip man 👍. Maybe I’ll need to check it out someday 👌
@@EugeValovirta230V it has this Screamer setting I wish Boss would make as a standalone box. I'd buy one for each board.
Really good .. I've personally went though several SD-1's and always find myself back to the TS-9 (the one with the Maxon board)...
Thanks! That’s a good one too 👌
@@EugeValovirta230V Are there any years of the SD-1 that are better or are they all pretty much the same?
I have the Japan made from early 90s , the Waza at my studio and a new Taiwan made on my live board and IMO they’re all pretty much the same. If I’m really really picky the og Japan made could be a bit more ”open” sounding than the others.
The strat sounded good in the 4th position
Yeah it has a nice ”spank” 👌.
Sounds amazing, have been watching alot of your stuff lately, now I own a jvm410 and soon a boss sd-1, keep up the great work🤘🤘🤘cheers from Canada
Cool man! Thanks!
Cool pedals bro!!!!
Yeah!
Great vídeo.
Thanks!
Would be really interesting, to compare the new factory SD 1 to your old Japan 80s SD 1 :)
I have the new one on my Cyhra live board and they sound basically the same. Can't do a comparison video atm 'cos my live rig has been in Gothenburg, Sweden at Cyhra's HQ since our last UK tour we did almost a year ago. We were supposed to continue the touring cycle for 'No Halos In Hell' but everything's been cancelled for the obvious reasons...
Great channel, man👌. Basically I like all three of them. Somehow my favorite to play through is the SD 1 (although I'm a TS 9 user). What strings and picks are you using for standard tuning on the shorter scale guitars?
Thanks man!
Dunlop 1,14 mm and DR 10-52.
The SD-1 just feels so much more responsive and I feel it’s mid range is very good. Punchy, aggressive, and for £60 you can’t go wrong
Exactly 👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V hey man, what’s the deal with the red line on yours?
It’s either Mr. Kvarforth’s blood or pig’s blood from Shining shows or paint. I haven’t found the need to figure it out since it has been there for years 😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V hahaha fair enough. We’ll call it “custom” 😝
😁👌
Awesome sound! have you ever tried a klon type pedal with the jcm 800?
Thanks!
Yeah I had Rockett Audio’s Archer Ikon and it sounds great if you like that type of ”transparent” sound.
It doesn’t sound as tight as TS type ODs since there’s no mid bump and low cut.
Have you tried the MXR Custom Badass Modified OD? It’s awesome!! 100 Hz boost/cut is a great feature. Mid bump switch as well.
I haven’t but it sounds (pun intended) cool! 😎
How can you guys tell which pedal he's playing I can't tell at all there's no indicator saying this is the pedal that's currently being played
SD-1 se vaan aina toimii 👌🏻
Näin on 👌
Very nice channel you have there. Just discovering all the interesting content :)
Have you tried the waza craft SD-1? Does it sound different at all?
Thanks BB! 😊
Yeah I have one and I’ve done a video about it: ruclips.net/video/af5PfLQxWyk/видео.html
JVM-410 eteen tuli hommattua Hexdrive, sd-1.n kaveriks. Tykästyin tuon purkin monipuolisuuteen ja se löysikin crunch kanavan parikseen😃 Sd-1 hoitaa od1 ja od2 kanavat.
Hienoa! 🎼💪
Pepita completly overdriven!!!
And he’s not the only one 😁
SD!
💪😎
Is there any faithfull Boss sd1 plugin, is the plugin alliance yellowdrive good enough?
Yeah the yellow drive is good and Softube’s Amp Room has one great also; they tweaked it based on my suggestions / comments 🤟😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V how does the plug compare to the real pedal? Same-better ?
It does the job (in the digital world) 👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V ok cause its been a while since i actually used my sd1, its in a warehouse, so i wondered if it feels exactly the same (aside the real tube amps) cause i compared the sd1 aka yellow drive to the plugin alliance rat and audiority ds1 (orange) which has 5 mod settings and the yellow drive actually seemed to be the most faithfull., so im not sure what you mean by digital world, i see you use the digital amp1 and iconclaster as well
Real deal is always a real deal and computer is always a computer. Doesn’t mean that the other is better or worse. Just different. AMP1 is 100% analog 👌.
Hi. Which od sounds keep a lot of low end in dual rectifier?
Some transparent type but I always use an OD that cuts the most, especially if I’d play with a recto ’cos it can be quite boomy & loose IMO. If you don’t want to cut the lows and make it tighter there’s really no need for OD ’cos Rectos have plenty of gain right?
Hi Euge, what do you think about metal zone Mt-2? as far as i know you have a lot of pedals but its missing...
Is that a stock Sd-1? i thought the Sd-1 sounded the best
Yeah it’s a stock 👌. Likewise 😎.
Sd-1 Best. Japan or Taiwan?
This one is Japan but I have a new Taiwan made on my Live - board and it sounds the same 👌
@@EugeValovirta230V, best channel with marshall metal sound.
Glad to hear! Thanks!
👍SD-1.....the Hex sounds stiff & blah🤮
💪👌
