"Time is running out!" -Nah man I can breathe in air "What do we do?" -Just toss me back "I know! I'll cover his blowhole with this wet cloth" -Wait, wha-hnnghggnghfhfhmmh!
This had me laughing too hard. I think maybe they were just trying to cover its eyes to calm it down or to try to make it hard for it to bite them. And maybe it was mostly women on the boat at first who were afraid of getting injured by it considering it weighs hundreds of pounds and was thrashing around. I think people are thinking they are lighter than they are because they're cute or something. That's the most charitable interpretation. They could have been dumb too and that's often the answer nowadays.
The running out of time part was overly dramatic but they were smart to use the wet towel to keep the skin from drying out. Not as smart in placing it over the blow hole vs mainly the eyes (so it wouldn’t be so scared and hit them when they approached) but dolphins can hold their breath for a really long time so it wasn’t as bad of a mistake for they time it would take to lift it out the boat.

Yeah, its sad it took someone from the other boat to realize. Then the guy that was in front of the boat, backed up like the dolphin was a dang shark... if I was there I would of reacted quick. Poor thing
You need to be more considerate of the situation sis. They could’ve stayed back cause maybe the were scared of touching the heavy ass animal Incase it freaked out. Tourists are t required to know exactly what to do in that situation. You’re expectations are too high. Also panic and shock changes the mind and can make it hard to think in the moment.
Diego Ruiz Lets make up a scenario to help you better understand the situation: A deer has found itself stuck in a deep pit and onlookers are not quite sure how to get the deer up and out without her struggling and causing more unnecessary harm (not to mention it would take at least 3 full grown men to pull her out anyway). Well, in walks Diego Ruiz, who bestows his mighty master plan. "Get the deer out of the hole!" No freaking dip Sherlock, it takes a bit more careful planning to help a large animal out then just stating the prefured end result
Corny Owl A deer in a hole won't die from being in a hole. A dolphin in a boat has very limited time. They had a boatload of people and did nothing except panic
+Corny Owl there was no need for that much men, just lift the dolphin s neck on the side of the boat then push the rest of his body over board, this way you only lift a part of the weight if the animal at a time. Besides, a whole must be very deep for a deer to not be able to get out, it could also panic when you try to help him and give you a mighty bash with it s horns. I think the dolphin is smart enough to notice someone helping him, and it hadn t enough energy to flick around violently anymore.
Dolphin's like, "Seriously, people? If any you all is ever attacked by a shark, don't expect me to save you. ... well, maybe the big guy and his friend. But that's it!"
That must have hurt the Dolphin landing on solid ground. Glad it is safe. Big thanks to the rescuers and to the camera guy. The Camera guy only gets annoying when there's no one else to help and he still holds the camera and nothing was done.

MeNames PoshOpossum9484 Right! Insightful! Better do nothing to show heroic and get hurt other than hauling water into the boat to let the dolphin leap overboard itself! The dolphin seems to be too excited and over zealous to please humans and thus get itself into such a poor face-losing situation!
@MeNames PoshOpossum9484 dude a boat full of people can totally lift a dolphin with ease.. but they chose to just panic and stand by. Luckily the people in the second boat actually did something or the dolphin wouldn't have made it
He desperately needed to get back into the water??? Dolphins breathe air! They don’t breathe underwater. He can survive outside the water, especially if his skin is kept wet. They would have had all time in the world to just grab him safely without any reason to hurry or panic. The biggest problem was not that he is out of the water but that he himself just panics in the boat and hurting himself while swinging his tail trying to move away from all the scared screaming chickens around him.
The thing is that the skin of a dolphin gets dry very easily and they can get heatstroke if they are not kept wet. I'm glad someone had the sense to get a wet towel or shirt to put on the dolphin.

Oh my it upsets me so much seeing people acting so dumb ! ...really!... just screaming and trying to stay away thats just so upsetting, gave me relief to see this man act and being an example to those who lack brain and heart.
This whole video is stupid. Dolphins breathe oxygen just like we do, there was no emergency. Plus they're smart, it would not attack a human. It might panic and flail around a little bit but just push him back over and he'll probably figure out what you're doing. Only real challenge he might weight anywhere from 100-200 lbs so it'd be like trying to push a fat guy over a boat.
They were afraid of it. It's a dolphin, not a shark. I can't believe no one on the original boat tried to do anything. I'm glad the guys from the other boat were near by.
Except for the fact that their fins are super hard. Getting hit by one would be very painful, so it's reasonable to approach the animal slowly. The amount of comments I've seen that glorify the dolphin and condemn the people here make me think these commenters are misanthropic. Dolphin's friend: haha idiot
That dolphin be like : Hey girls, wanna see something cool 😎?
I think dolphins act faster to get drowning humans to the surface than these humans trying to put them back into the ocean..
I know they didn’t even call for help they just watched it suffer the other boats realized and came to help those people on the boat complete idiots
What can you say, they are faster AND nicer.
Absolutely, but they finally put the dolphin back to the ocean; hopefully. 🐬
Imagine the dolphins swimming in circles screaming, "oh my god a human. What do i do"
Yeah, its sad it took someone from the other boat to realize. Then the guy that was in front of the boat, backed up like the dolphin was a dang shark... if I was there I would of reacted quick. Poor thing
"no one knew what to do"
Seriously?
Entire video: Everyone is screaming
PICK IT UP ALREADY!
Because they're panicking. People always panic than using their mind, but not always.
they're so scared.. lol..
I know. It makes me nuts when people panic and then get stupid.
I thought they were going to grab the dolphin and throw it to the water but no.
it's better to start screaming and keep the camera on.
Diego Ruiz
Lets make up a scenario to help you better understand the situation:
A deer has found itself stuck in a deep pit and onlookers are not quite sure how to get the deer up and out without her struggling and causing more unnecessary harm (not to mention it would take at least 3 full grown men to pull her out anyway). Well, in walks Diego Ruiz, who bestows his mighty master plan. "Get the deer out of the hole!"
No freaking dip Sherlock, it takes a bit more careful planning to help a large animal out then just stating the prefured end result
The dolphin is too heavy, it's also wet/slippery and it's flopping. Have you have tried to pick up a fish out of water? You must not have.
FeelsYoshiMan Your evrywhere
Dolphin's like, "Seriously, people? If any you all is ever attacked by a shark, don't expect me to save you. ... well, maybe the big guy and his friend. But that's it!"
Other dolphins said “That’s what you get for being a show off” 😂
Haha 😂 nice one 😂😂😂🤣

He desperately needed to get back into the water??? Dolphins breathe air! They don’t breathe underwater. He can survive outside the water, especially if his skin is kept wet. The biggest problem was not that he is out of the water but that he himself just panics in the boat and hurting himself while swinging his tail trying to move away from all the scared screaming chickens around him.
I think it has something to do with gravity once they out off water and on their belly may suffocate them selfs
