Haha, new tricks are such fun Mally. Keep learning. It’s good to see that you found the Bodies and Components tutorials, even though there are only two of them, they are good to follow up the 16 Basic tutorials. You might like to take a look at the intermediate series next. Click through to the channel home page by clicking on the little FE logo and then on the Playlists page.
Thanks Arnold, I’ve been using Fusion for a couple of months now. I’m a retired Electrical Engineer but an aspiring Mechanical Enginner😊. You have succinctly demonstrated the value of doing designs in an organized fasion. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Jim, stick with the journey, I hope to see what you make eventually. There's a lot more to say about bodies and components, and I'll be looking for some interesting models for more demonstrations so you can practise, practise, practise.
Thanks for your videos. I got a 3D Printer this winter so I needed to learn a CAD program. I learned more from Your 16 tutorials than everything else I watched put together. I think the way You gave out the sketches first was really helpful. I'm amazed that with Your teaching style how quick I was able to make fairly complex designs. This series about components and assemblies is just where I was starting to getting stuck, so it's good to see You continuing. Your a great teacher Thanks
That's encouraging Matt thanks. I need to do a few more on components, I've only just begun to realise that most people need a good foundation in the control of the browser structure to avoid the knotty problems that come up there. Keep going.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it Richard, on the home page of my channel you can see a few other basic tutorials, take a look at the Playlists page. ruclips.net/channel/UCR-69_Ukrk6u4gwqacqx-WQ
Thank you for continuing to produce your videos, the pace at which you proceed is great for those of us getting started, they are very well done . Your teaching style is among the best I have found. Thanks again!
Thank you so much. I have tried several YT tutorials on components vs bodies, and this is the first and only one to get it through my numb, aged skull. And thanks for the background music!
Good on you Flip! I was well into making the intermediate series of tutorials when I realised how important it is to get familiar with bodies and components before getting too deep in assemblies. I'm going to do more of these.
Thankyou Ahren, I've got a video I'm working on at the moment, Its a revision of the first of the 16 basic tutorials which are getting old now, and hopefully it will be published within a week. Next will be the first in a new series about powder metallurgy. I'm looking forward to that one but I'll keep doing more on Fusion 360 too.
That's the idea Brian, a few times and it will stick better. I'm looking for some more examples so that some of the unforeseen situations get covered. I think this needs to be expanded into a playlist of its own.
@@ArnoldRowntreeTeachesFusion360 How about inserting parts from Libraries and catalogues like McMasters, or importing Step files. How about using a .pdf picture to recreate a part that will be integrated into an assembly...

Thank you Arnold I use it for 3d printing. In the past I used Rhino but Fushion360 is much better. On my work (machine shop) we use inventor but not by me.
Thanks for sharing Hans. I've seen some amazing work done in Rhino and a thing called Grasshopper but its for different purposes. I certainly like Fusion over Inventor though.
Arnold, working through the beginners tutorials and really appreciate them. Your style and content have clicked with me and has helped a lot. Over the past week I have tried to confirm my email subscription. I get to the verification but get a server error message. Any help?

Thank you too! This was a bit of an afterthought but I can see how important this topic is and it will soon be a substantial playlist which I'll recommend before the intermediate tutorials.
I create my 3d objects in F360 and export using the .3MF extension as that opens easily in Cura for 3D printer slicing. I notice the circles are really multi-sided polygons when I open the 3MF file. If I export as STL (takes longer) I get better resolution on the round parts. Is there a setting I am missing to get better resolution for the 3MF files?
LJB, I'm a beginner in 3D printing and haven't even tried the format you're asking about. I'll be publishing on some specific 3D printing topics soon but I'll try to avoid sharing my ignorance.

I haven't been able to find any way to control the colours George. Are you sure it isn't that they are just not the active components? Activate one that is wishy washy and click somewhere else in the window. If that doesn't liven up the colours I'm stumped.
Hi nhd, for many years in the classroom I had international students who struggled to understand the technical vocabulary and there was no easy way to make a good quality translation. That may be changing now with artificial intelligence. I’ll investigate again.
