ACC is actually pretty lackluster in many ways at this stage. Bare in mind that pCars 2 is quite old, so SMD had time to polish it. But when it comes to the core of the experience, the driving, ACC simply has better handling which is the biggest weak point in SMD games in general.
The interior sounds in acc were made with feedback from actual gt3 drivers. Sounds they commonly used as cues have been accurately replicated, like the cold brakes
PC2 graphics are terrible in some aspects and great in others! In some tracks some textures are missing!!! It's just jarring! But the car models and weather effects are pretty good.
My thoughts exactly. PC seems to have the edge on the audio, but it's not perfect. I could hear many of the sample's loop points in ACC which lost the immersion.
Very good video , and very interesting to see side-by-side of these 2 en detail. PC2 has aged very very well, another reason why AMS 2 should be a piece of cake!
Temporal filtering is meant to provide worse but ok quality, and more fps. For best graphics, you need to TURN OFF! or set FXAA(post-processing) or none if you use another AA(multiply pixel density like MSAA) and super sampling looks just better than MSAA, super sampling is just like render 4K resolution, downsample, display ar 2K resolution.

ACC is actually pretty lackluster in many ways at this stage. Bare in mind that pCars 2 is quite old, so SMD had time to polish it. But when it comes to the core of the experience, the driving, ACC simply has better handling which is the biggest weak point in SMD games in general.
No clear winner honestly. Both games seem to do something better than the other and vice versa. Another great video
Beer Bourbon and Games yep, but with 2 years of difference!
Lets talk about Driveclub rain/weather effects, a game from 2014.. outstanding
Yeah good rain effect but sucks in physic sadly
Patiently waiting for Project Cars 3 vs Project Cars 2.
the exhaust turns red when u rev or drive the car in ACC.
The interior sounds in acc were made with feedback from actual gt3 drivers. Sounds they commonly used as cues have been accurately replicated, like the cold brakes
3:24 ACC crowd is more realistic, I've never seen a full grandstand at a Blancpain event, despite it being an awesome series.
They both look pretty great, but I'm sure most sim enthusiasts would had likely own both anyways. Great vid btw.
PC2 graphics are terrible in some aspects and great in others! In some tracks some textures are missing!!! It's just jarring! But the car models and weather effects are pretty good.
I don’t think many sim enthusiasts would have gotten it since pc3 is more sim cade
What's going on with the braking sound in Assetto? Pterodactyls or something?
My thoughts exactly. PC seems to have the edge on the audio, but it's not perfect. I could hear many of the sample's loop points in ACC which lost the immersion.
thats how carbon ceramic brakes sound when cold
Very good video , and very interesting to see side-by-side of these 2 en detail. PC2 has aged very very well, another reason why AMS 2 should be a piece of cake!
I hope he looks and drive like a delicious piece of chocolate cake
Physics in AC are miles miles miles better then PC2, sorry. People we say otherwise probably havn't ever driven a car at or near its limits.
@@Sihmunath Completely vague request, every car is different and will perform differently.
Temporal filtering is meant to provide worse but ok quality, and more fps.
For best graphics, you need to TURN OFF! or set FXAA(post-processing) or none if you use another AA(multiply pixel density like MSAA)
and super sampling looks just better than MSAA, super sampling is just like render 4K resolution, downsample, display ar 2K resolution.
Super sampling is never enabled for these comparisons. I only use native resolutions with no supersample
@@Nick930 Then, I think you should disable temporal filtering(aka checker board). it halves shader rendering, especially normal map texture of things like tile looks less bumpy surface. Also Interpolation is needed also, with high motion it could looks blurry.
how temporal filtering works
1. Half your rendering resolution
2. MSAA your rendering
3. Interpolation shader due to lack of information of
4. Display
Project car : graphics
ACC : everything else
...not if you know how to setup your wheel in pc2 !
@@keksenascherable oof... Your comment tells me everything I need to know
Project cars 2 : Graphics
ACC: gravity propelled racing experience.
You can already see how good video comparison will be as soon you mentioned "ACC DRIVING sim vs PC2 RACING sim" lol
PCars 2 has been out for 2 years now & its obvious the game have been polished with lots of updates. ACC a freshly baked game that i can confirm will get better in few upcoming updates. I've been playing PCars 2 & AC on PC, overall i fancy AC more than PCars 2 because of how polished the game is & the modding community for AC is huge. I'll get my hands on ACC soon, maybe in few more upcoming updates. As for now im just gonna enjoy my AC.
Bull66 just got into AC, but I have problems setting up a server unfortunately
They both look like amazing games to me.
ACC doesn't have modding support sadly, it's just a Blancpain GT game with the AC label. If you have to buy one of the two, I'd say get PC2
Ale P or you could buy ac and get mods for the cars and graphics
Awesome job, thank you so much!
Great video as always. Only one thing. In the rain you showed PC2 in traffic and ACC not. ACC looks way better when racing other cars in the rain. Not even mentioning physics because it's graphics comparison :P For a small team Kunos is they did great job in graphics department anyway.
@edit: and there is damage in ACC. Clearly running default realism settings (which is completely miss by Kunos)
Nice review !
ACC is better in Physics and Graphics. PC2 is obviously better in different cars and classes. What you should buy ? Both ;)
Depends on what u play on, if pc then get acc but it's ur chkice
Actually physics are much more superior on PC2, higher simulation rate, more complex tire model, etc.
Good job man 👍🏼
Pc2 even if it's quite old still be a very nice game👌... But obviously Acc has better sounds... But let's hope for a better project cars 3😊
I just wished project cars would be a stand-alone game that they'd just keeping putting in additions/revisions to but I guess there's less money in it for them that way.
Jon Lenin project cars 1 have a physics that really sucks, Pc2 have an tremendous improve!
@@SantiagoVelezRestrepo You missed my point, they could have made it a model where there's minor monthly updates that keep bettering the game (including physics) instead of segmenting the community with sequels.
@@SantiagoVelezRestrepo you're right!
I guess I'm speaking another language lmao
Asseto corsa is the best, cheaper and still got update. Worth every penny
3:25 Assetto’s crowds are more realistic for GT3
Blurry, ambiguous and few.
I'd be happy to know if you revised your opinion after the latest release
Nights are way too contrasted in ACC, lacking some dynamic range. You should have talked about performance too. Personally I prefer PC2 graphics it's even close to Forza.
not even close to Forza imho... are you playing Forza on high settings? It looks quite amazing, something that PC2 never succeeded in doing.
@@chrmez I play PC2 on ultra, yes Forza is the graphic king but PC2 is close. ACC is the king in the RF2 / AMS / Iracing graphic league...
The pc2 488 gt3 has a deeper more throaty sound that resembles the 488 pista. The acc 488 gt3 sounds like the 488gtb
Can you do dayz since it just released on ps4
Aloner Stoner dayz is a bad game refunded it so fast lol
Nice info! Would've been interesting know what kind of performance you got at the used quality setting in both games. ACC is basically unusable in VR still due to poor performance. Info like that would be interesting to have included in comparison videos like this!
For me, PC2 looks (and plays) so much better for my driving style. However, even the most dedicated PC2 fan has to admit the ACC sounds more authentic.
Well SMS fired half their sound team at the end of pc2 development, obviously they were not happy either with the vehicle sounds in pc2
@@K4R3N I did not know that. Here's hoping PC3 will sound a lot better.
mrn4s LOL
Of course you like pcars, most noobs do cause its easy to drive with its simple physics
@@magzire I've been playing driving sims for over 30 years, but then I guess being an arrogant prick you probably didn't engage your brain before posting your response.
Can't wait for the splinter cell documentary tomorrow, really excited to see a doc on one of my favorite childhood franchises.
...what? Its available already lol. Check my channel
@@Nick930 holy crap you are right I didn't realize a week passed already
But the most important thing is the feeling and how fun they are. For me at least ACC wins by miles there so that's where I will be spending a lot of time from now on.
Yes cause ACC is arcade game
@@markomarko3450 FYI: Saying that ACC is arcade doesn't make you look cool.
@@chrmez Ok,SIMCADE
@@markomarko3450 you literally have no clue what your talking about go back to forza
In a car racing game all people want is great sounding cars! As long as graphic’s are current gen we don’t care about them being amazing all we want is cars sounding like real cars!!
Wounder how long it'll take to have Driveclub quality weather in a sim
I swear, if all sims joined together and brought their best aspects into one game... the sim racing world would forever change. No more bits from each.
ACC's sound shits on PCars 2... also physics wise. I also enjoy the look of ACC much much more
acc is a sim not like an arcadis sim wannabe like pc2
Rowht hehe. Everything you said is 100% wrong
@@Rowht bet you haven't played either of the games lol
@@SuperIceman44 i have and not jist those two mate
@@Rowht gatekeeping racing sims will sure help more people getting into this already small niche :-P
Which one should I buy? I just want time to time make few laps with various cars.
A simulation game is never just about graphic, driving experience also matters. ACC beats Pcar2 with no doubt.
This. I don't understand why people compare a graphic of simulation games. I certainly prefer a less-fancy graphic to get more more memory to calculate the physics in real time.
Imagine a driving sim that imitates the real life. You can get to racing in a game without have to worrying about totaled your car, risking your life from accident, repair expenses, etc and in the same time racing with real life physics.
which one is better to play, ( easier to set up cars, physics, Steering Wheel compatibility, etc, )... ?
Hard choice to me... I like both, in terms of driving simulation i prefer Assetto by little
is the driving experience of acc more like in Raceroom experience or more like in pc2?
Breaking in ACC sounds like Buzzard call or some similar bird. LoL.
NexGen vxv Gt3 cars have huge disks and brake pads and they tend to squeal at lower speeds, pretty realistic imo.
When the brakes are hot, doesn't squeal like that
@@nexgenvxv6652 They absolutely sound realistic in ACC - I watched both a Porsche GT3 and Ferrari Cup Challenge races live a few weeks ago, and they squeal exactly like in ACC. They also were glowing red as they braked for the hairpin!
Aussie fps also when they’re cold (low lap count)
Last Night I played Nurburgring with the Logitech g920 in both games and it was super satisfying in AC. Project cars gave me a weird feeling driving some cars. And the audio with headset is more immersive in AC. However, environment and car exteriors looks stunning in pc2
You did Assetto a huge service by not comparing frame rates.
And a huge disservice by not comparing actual driving models and car driving physics.
@@comradical This is a visual comparison, nothing else.
I believe that Project Cars has immersive graphics and audio. That being said, it's strange how AC got right the two things real sim racers do see a lot on screen, cockpit and sky.
I work on the Ferrari gt3 and the assetto sound is much more realistic
Okay main question on which one i should buy
which one has a sandbox mode
I think the rain effects are really nice in Project Cars 2
Not. you idiot. PCars 2 worst rain graphics bad. ASC better.
@@GT4tube Sorry I got you mad ASC fan but you can't call me an idiot if it is my own opinion also, PCars has a better UI, plug and play wheel support, and better VR integration. It also has a proper career mode with championships, race. weekends, team management, crowds look like they have higher resolution (3:06). I still think ASC is a good game though.
ACC's onboard sound is amazing
