Must visit this place next time I'm in Tokyo!!
I shall give you the tour!
Bellamy's disdain for new Leica releases is hilarious
This is insane! Never thought places like this existed.
Kitamura Camera = Camera Heaven.
Stoked to have a virtual walkthru of such an incredible place. Silly really but I did pause a few times and jump on to another browser tab to check conversion rates...
Just move the decimal back two places, and you'll have a pretty good estimate. So 10,000 yen becomes about $100.
Same I jumped around looking into the different cameras and there prices
You wern’t the only one !
same here
I just want to say, I really appreciate those videos. Having a bit of history on those obscure (at least some are for me) cameras is great. Thanks !
That black Yasuhara is very cool - can't help but notice that beautiful black Kowa SW next to it too.
The new store looks incredible!
BUNDESEIGENTUM! What a fantastic camera store.
I could easily spend several days wandering around in that store. And, if I was cashed up, walking out of there with more gear than I could carry!! :D One of the reason why I want to come to Japan.
Cool cool cool cool cool cool !!!
Thank you very much for putting these series together, this will be definitely in my to visit list once we are allowed to travel again, Japan really is a camera’s lover dream land
This was insane. Thank you for the tour, I never would've heard of this place otherwise. Please make more of these!
This is definitely gonna be my first stop when i get to visit Japan. Thanks a lot for the tour ☺️
Any time!
I think that only very few people know that the last produces Hasselblad 500C has the same mechanism for the matte screen in the Camera, so watch for chose if you collect Hasselblad !
Thank you JCH. You are indeed one of the good things to come out of this year of 2020
Loved the tour, and the history about these incredible camera’s.
Nice description...looks like a place to go
i look forward to your videos so much, thanks for giving us an inside look!
Sadly in North America online retailing has killed off a lot of the bricks and mortar stores. You pretty much have to go to Asia to see something like this. Thankfully places like Hong Kong, Taipei and Tokyo also still have small camera retailers.
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
I guess I need to go back to Japan. Here and the Nikon museum (and many other locations)
I like how you started at the top and worked your way down, art gallery style
Thank you for a very informative video. Always enjoy watching JCH. The only problem I found as a viewer was that this video wasn't long enough! And I loved the nikon vid JCH presented as well.
Your enthusiasm, sir, is infectious.....
well done.
Beautiful! Thank you for the tour.
Thank you for making these videos. Also love the shirt :D
I love this series of videos , that show a difference look of Tokyo , thanks Bellamy
What an amazing place! Thank you for sharing your knowledge JCH of these special shops
Unintentional pun at 4:07 -- "I'm Leica kid"
'Unintenional'
Beautiful Store! Hope to visit when things go back to some normally! Thanks JCH
Few things in this world make me as happy as the terms "geekery" & "nerdery."
🤓❤️
Bloody Hell! I must declare bankruptcy after visiting that store! Ha, ha! Excellent video. Thank you and keep up the great work!!
Great video, Thanks for the excellent tour. Absolutely love this Camera Geekery series.
Thanks for watching!
your video is amazing, thank you Bellamy ! I will definitely visit this shop if we ever get out of lockdown as you rightly said ...
Awesome! A dangerous spot for me, as I could leave my wife at the Starbucks and spend hours browsing.
great video!! can't wait to go there next time i visit... great idea for a series to visit all your local camera stores.....
What a place! I might not ever want to leave the 4th floor.
Stunning! Such beautiful cameras. I could spend days there, and lots of money - if I had it! Thanks for these lovely videos, please keep them coming.
Thanks for watching!
I like that they have a gallery space. Overall a very cool store.
Another great insight Bellamy, love this content. Thank you 🙏🏼
My pleasure!
love this shop ! Since the opening, I'm going every month :D (and spend no money ^^')
Nice shirt! Very appropriate for this store.
I actually licked my lips at the first shots.
I should not have clicked in this video, human desire is too much
Great vid Bellamy. I lived & worked in Tokyo for 2 years and shopped regularly for cameras (especially in & around Ginza) and I never heard of this store in Shinjuku. What a revelation and can't wait to get back.
The new flagship store only opened a couple of months ago.
Thank you for the tour of a store that I'll never get to visit. I really enjoyed it.
Just... wow 📷❤️
6 floors of heaven! 😍
Nice to see some vintage Canon love.
Love this, thanks JCH.
My pleasure!
Awesome vid Bellamy!
Love the new vids man!
Glad to hear it!
All those Leica M camera's. Makes me drool
I do love Japan!
Wow! What an amazing store! You could spend days in there! Haha
Amazing, thanks!
Gosh! It’s like Fort Knox for cameras! Unreal.
What a store! 🤓🤯
Fantastic!
Such a cool place!!
Cool! up vote.
very interesting love old cameras
Great content. As a Swede, I wonder how this three-crown military Leica ended up in Japan. That story would be interesting to know. I have some Swedish military Nikkormas in my collection that are registered with the official military M-number.
Outstanding
Vive le fecalité! That is a wonderful shirt.
definitely wanna visit it someday
Just wow
so much gorgeous!
I would love to have that "gold Leica" it's the M10-P ASC 100 edition. Such an amazing looking piece.
Well done, absolutely wonderful.
Many thanks!
Thanks for showing us this treasure.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very cool shop✅
some say film is dying but actually its more alive than before! thanks for sharing this kind of videos, its really inspiring and full of knowledge!
Oh how I'd love to have a camera store / shop like that in the UK.
B&H, is TOAST!
Nice t-shirt! :D
Such a cool guy!
Some of that stuff is incredible. only costs an arm, leg, torso and your head.
Thanks for sharing. I love your channel.
Glad you enjoy it!
my happy place!
Class
Amazing place!
It really is!
Thanks, very nice to see. One wonders how the internet has affected the retailers and camera prices, and how Hong Kong compares.
I think “food set” is a typo of “hood” since in Japanese / katakana there’s no distinction between food and hood.
There is a good branch of this shop in Osaka as well, much smaller though. Always impressed at their museum like displays, but it makes me nervous about using my camera out in the wild when I see the same one spot lit behind glass with a crazy price tag lol!
We need a six part series-one per each flood-for your viewers. I’m experiencing a terrible GAS attack 😅💸💸💸
awesome video
That shirt is heat 🔥🔥🔥
shittycamerachallenge shirt
Wooowwwwww 😱😍🤩
Such a bucketlist place this is... Definitely going on the list for Tokyo. However there was one thing that caught my eye: the Luftwaffe Leica appears to have "Luftwaffen-Eigentum" engraved on the lens, which seems to be a spelling error or maybe an odd anachronism? I'm not at home with Leica's so I have no idea about the why's and how's of that.
I'm not native in German but it means 'property of the Luftwaffe'. It says 'Luftwaffen' because it's the object of the sentence and German grammar works like that.
Thanks for the lovely video content that you bring to the analogue comunity, it only inspires us to become better at our art. If I every get to go to Tokyo I will surely visit this store even if it's just to drool over the cameras. Love the channel, looking forward to the next video bellamy
Better than the shanghai camera museum I guess.
Everything is so effing Cool; it's enough to drive you mad with rage.......
I appreciate your videos very much. Dōmo arigatō.
Glad you like them!
what camera strap do you have? where can i get one?
1000 yen for a Fuji Superia 400 3 years ago ... :)
Amazing. If you are curious what the cost is in the USA dollar, divide the cost you see by 104 to get the US dollar equivalent. Example 650,000 / 104 = $6,250 usd
I'd love a job there !
Nice & Thanks :)
Wow
This "food set" inscription looks like a typical and very amusing katakana conversion mistake. I can only assume it was meant to be "hood set", or does it really come with a bretzel ?
I was also thinking "full" set perhaps
“It’s a real honor to touch them.” 😊 Nice video.
Thank you! 😃
Subbed!
