    • @NoctiGirl
      @NoctiGirl  11 месяцев назад

      Yes! The used camera market is definitely still booming! Though I can’t say the same about film. I used to buy a lot of film whenever I travel to Japan. They were cheaper than the U.S., also had a wider selection and variety. Not the same anymore. They had a severe film shortage and most stores were limiting purchases to 1 roll per customer 🥲 before going there, my friend in Japan even told me to bring my own film if I planned on shooting any… 🥹

      Sad state of affairs on camera films there. What is the reason(s) for the film shortage in Japan nowadays, is it to do with new government environmental regulations banning certain chemicals forcing major film manufacturers to stop producing it in Japan?

      Hahahah actually I love Japan for their camera related accessories. They really think of everything. Their camera/lens wraps are better designed. Cool photo related t-shirts. Fun camera straps. More durable screen protectors etc. Just so fun to check out everything! If I don’t buy cameras or lenses there, I always leave with a small something. Just so easy to spend money there 😅

      Wow. What a thing to say. I think I said “Kitamura is kind of like Samy’s & B&H but bigger and with more stuff.” But what you said is insulting to Samy’s and B&H, especially considering Samy himself just passed away a few days ago.

    I have to ask.....why do you film these videos in 24p? Phones, tablets and laptops all play 60p. Your video appears very blurry when panning. 24p is just not required.

      @@NoctiGirl I kind of agree. I would like to know if the used cameras are a better deal than in US. I am looking for a Sony lens and I can buy a used one for 30% off but not sure if Japan offers better deal. My son is leaving for Japan on 5/1/2024 for ten days, should I ask him to look for the lens for me or it's not worth his time.

    • @NoctiGirl

      Japan will not offer a better deal than the U.S. Prices are generally lower in the U.S. You might find stuff in Japan that you won't find here though. I'm offering a starting point for people to look but wouldn't you think it'd be your job as the buyer to do the research and look into the cameras that you are looking for and their prices?

      @@NoctiGirl I think you answered my question already. Thank you. As a buyer, I would like to know what type of discount is available in general for used lens, I have already done my research in US but since Japanese dollars is weaker, I was hoping for further discounts and if it's available in Japan.

    • @NoctiGirl
      @NoctiGirl  9 месяцев назад

      To be honest, Japan is not a country that's big on discounts. But they really take care of their products and their customer service is superb. I wouldn't count on getting "good deals" in Japan, but they have special edition cameras there that you won't find here in the U.S. I'd approach a trip to Japan with that mindset. Everyone is super courteous there BUT most people don't speak English so communication might be an issue if you try to ask about details on cameras...
      Also, they just have so many random accessories and trinkets there that it's just fun to visit and look around!
