Gorgeous, Teri! I LOVE all the details and tips you provide in your videos because I learn so much. Thank you for sharing and your time in putting these together. 💜
I always enjoy watching you work. You have an attention to detail more then anyone else I have watched. You are the only one that I have seen that goes back to fill in any missing soap and make it look perfect.
Wow, thank you! I am guessing you have attention to detail too. A little time and care can turn it into something your proud of. I enjoy the process too.💕
New to soap making. Working currently with melt and pour. When I view your videos and others with cold process, I can see that it doesn’t start setting up for y’all as fast as a melt and pour. Still a long way from your expertise. Yes I like making it look perfect, too. Questions? Where do I start. Looking at plenty of tutorials. How do you know how much oils to add? How much lye per soap? How much scent? Soap for dummies here😂… so yes I am on a journey for knowledge. I am subscribed and loved this design! Keep them coming.❤
Your time and patience spent on layering this soap is amazing to me. I would have given up and thrown some of “extra “ batter away. I so enjoy the information you share 😀
Love your work!!! Personally, I'd love to better understand the properties each type of oil brings to the recipe and what ranges are desirable. I've often wished SoapCalc would assign ranges as they do for qualities like hardness, cleansing, etc. You touched on it in this video and I'd love for you to cover the topic in more detail in a future video. Also, perhaps how you approach creating a recipe from most important qualities to least important. Also, I enjoyed how you showed some of your fails. It made me feel better about my own.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I've been making soap for 6+ years. I began with hot process and have ventured into cold process so I appreciate the knowledge you share.
I agree I clean up and bevel all my soaps. They look beautiful and they then feel nice in your hand. I'm not the perfectionist you are, I make 30 bars at a minimum, but I think if people are paying me for something, I want it to look the very best I can make it. Jill Gross

These soaps are breathtaking!! I'd love to see you do more using Belinda's soap scrapers, or even something from the soap challenges from Amy Warden!! I love to watch art in soap, and you do them very well with some great pointers. Thank you so much!! 💞
Functional art. Love it! Your attention to detail goes above and beyond and yr soaps always look so perfect. Leant a lot from your vids. Many thanks ❤️
I've never used indigo before in my CP soaps. I do use palm in some of my bars. Why should you not use them together? I couldn't find any info on it other than possible discoloration. I enjoy learning about the chemistry. My husband calls me a mad scientist lol. Love your videos!
I was so excited to see a new video of yours. I love your calm manner and your enthusiasm for perfection. You are so skilled at fixing the imperfections and making them perfect. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Love from Australia xx
I adore your videos. They are so informative for new soapers. Belinda gave me a tip for the shapers: instead of using tape, use rubber bands to affix the stick/guides. I had tried a few different kinds of tape, and I found that none held as well as I would like. I used 2 rubber bands to affix the guide and it worked very well (plus they are reusable!).
I love your video, Teri, and all the work you put into teaching and giving tips and tricks. I've learned so much over the years. I, too, enjoy cleaning up each bar as it's therapeutic to me. These are gorgeous!
Hi Marie, you are a world of information. I would love a video on calculating FO based on batch size. I only make soap for my family but I always feel unsure if I’m using the right amount. Also the information you gave was nice and would like to know more about the properties of oils. I subscribed to your channel. You are truly amazing!
Hi Terry I wanted to let you know that I learn a lot from your videos and I value your time to take for us to teaching us. I wanted to give a little advice when using acrylic mold you can put a piece of plastic wrap before the bottom of the it and then put the cover.
This is a fabulous video, Terrie--full of your usual meticulous detail and priceless insights. I enjoy all of your videos and have learned so much from you! This one makes the scraper technique seem a lot less intimidating than others I have seen. I've been very reluctant to try scraping, but I think that watching this video very carefully another time or two could help me feel confident enough to try it. You're a first-rate teacher. Thank you for the time and care you devote to helping us all learn to be better soap makers!

Thank you so much for your channel Teri - I have become an addict! I just have a little question. Do you bevel the corners on the same day as unmoulding and cutting? Or do you wait a while between each step?
Hi Terry; am amazed at your brilliant works and am grateful you take your time to convey this knowledge.. Wanted to ask what colors do you use and where do you get them because I tried making this design but the color faded out?
I know this might be a long shot since the video is 2 years old, but around the 7:30 to 8:30 time marks you discuss soap going "grainy" if the are left to sit there. What do you mean by that? Does that mean a soap with be grainy if it is not mixed just before being poured into a mold?
Great video! How long does it take for each layer to set up, are you waiting until it's firm to the touch? Do you keep it at room temp while waiting. Also, do these layered soaps go through a gel phase. I've been soaping for 3 years but have made basic bars and am just now getting into the artistic side.
Do you mean how long till it's ready to sculpt? (Not firm to touch.) That depends on the fragrance and the recipe you use. Mine took probably 30 minutes to hold its shape. Then once it's sculpted, it's ready for the next layer, which will need to thicken enough to keep its shape. (I should have used a slightly accelerating fragrance.) I didn't notice a gel phase, but I believe I covered this one and didn't oven process it.
I just made my first sculpted layer soap! I should’ve made 15% extra like you because it was really hard to get all my tall peaks… did I miss where the link is to calculate the splits for each layer using graph paper? I’d love to learn more!
Oh, so sorry, I got pulled away and never finished it. It involves putting the design on graph paper and counting the squares in each layer, then divide by the total number of squares. That will give you the percent for each layer. Up the normal batch size by 15% and divide your batter into the percentages you figured. I hope this helps, Amanda! 💕
Hey Teri! LOVE this vid and am going to give layering a try. At the end, when you cover up the holes/flaws (I try to do this too), how did you keep the soap batter soft enough to work with? Thank you!

So happy to see a video!!! Missed you lots!! Salt bars are my issue i know you've done it in the past. But I'm allergic to coconut so my recipe omits it and I've found no matter the ratio my bar crumbles to pieces. I use cocoa, shea, kokoum, olive, castor, avocado and mango.

Possibly the same way you would with soap dough? So keeping it airtight should keep it soft if I understand that correctly.
How do you set up the spacing on the mountains? Like the guide sticks?

Thank you for the video! Just to clarify, is the reason you measure and pour the lye separately because of the different amounts of colorants you used per layer?
That is correct, Lily.👍 And it is added to the lye instead of the oils because lye is supposed to bring out the color of the indigo. 🧪💕

This looks like the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where I live.
Thank you, David! Oh, the Blue Ridge Mountains are so pretty! What a scenic place to live. We've spent time in the Nantahala Gorge. What a beautiful place! 🌲💕
@@TreeMarieSoapworks That's about 2 hours from me. I'm east of Asheville and Nantahala is west. Come back soon!
It's a beautiful state. 😊 We lived there for 8 years! (Camp Lejeune)🪂
@@TreeMarieSoapworks Thank you for your service.
That's my husband; I'll let him know! Thank you, David! 😊

Eu fiquei empolgada para entrar no grupo do facebook e minha solicitação nem foi aceita :(

Bob Ross but soap
So happy to see a video!!! Missed you lots!! Salt bars are my issue i know you've done it in the past. But I'm allergic to coconut so my recipe omits it and I've found no matter the ratio my bar crumbles to pieces. I use cocoa, shea, kokoum, olive, castor, avocado and mango.
Thank you! Have you ever tried Babassu or Palm Kernel oil for a Coconut Oil substitute? Hmm... I would love to try and experiment with that.🤔
