Ultimate Cat Lady: Woman Shares Her Home With 1,100 Felines

A caring cat lady has given up her 4,200 square foot home to more than a thousand felines. Sixty-seven-year-old Lynea Lattanzio now lives in a trailer on her six acre property and allows the cats to run freely through the five bedroom house. Today she runs Cat House On The Kings which is California’s largest no-cage, no kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats. Lynea and her team of volunteers care for about 800 adult cats and 300 kittens. The team starts feedings at the shelter at 4am and they also give medical attention to critically ill cats. Me neither. Mine became instant enemies 5 years ago after one of them had a vet visit. Friends became instant enemies. There is near constant hissing and chasing, attempted fighting....every single day.

They make the only one without claws eat out of a separate food bowl and bully it, so when that cat gets a chance it'll slap the hell out of one of the other cats while they are sleeping. Nearly all cat fights end without a scratch and they're always funny to watch

Honestly cats are so independent you don't even feel their presence so much. They only NEED you for feeding, other than that they always find their own things to do. Fascinating creatures. I have four.

I must say, any person that would give up their own home (and move into a trailer) so that these precious cats/kittens may survive and thrive is inspiring. I am also amazed that it is as clean as it is. Lol, I only have 7 cats inside and, well....., I struggle just to keep my home cleaned up after them, I couldn't imagine taking care of this many, although I would love to. I wish I could quit my job and devote my life, just like this wonderful woman above, to rescuing/saving cats/kittens. I do what I can, I feed 3 feral communities, 8 strays and 7 indoor cats but my efforts are next to nil compared to this lady above. Ty so much for everything that you have done and continue to do, caring more for another life than you do your own, especially an animal life, is a virtue that most ppl will never have nor know. I wouldn't underestimate your own efforts. They may seem lile a drop in the sea, but for those few who were lucky enough to have found you, it means the world. You are everything to them, and you made it possible for them to live, rather than just survive.

She keeps these cats in clean environment they are well fed well taken care of they are going blind and losing their hair and I think when I am older I am going to build my home and then build the second home for unwanted cats! I volunteered at a cat shelter for about 2 years to get my hours for school, and it was the best decision i ever made. it didn't feel like work, it felt like heaven, and i just adored to be there. I highly highly encourage any cat or animal lovers out there to volunteer at a shelter
Wonderful woman to give her life for a grea cause. I hope she gets tons of donations becasue we know 100% goes to the animals. The world would be a much better place with more people like her.

I've always wanted to do something similar, with dogs! Rehabbing station, socializing station, hospital, rec yard, etc. Seeing her do it with cats lifts my spirits and my motivations.

That's somebody that had a will and found a way! Incredible really. Consider the month to month expenses, constant demands, and decisions that must be made. The daily schedule is going to be quite busy at least morning and evening given the amount of cleaning + feeding + check ups / grooming of various cats, then the administrative duties, on and on! Wow! This lady has a drive that is incredible. Amazing. This kind of place makes a difference in the world for those cats.
