“Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss (CCC 1864)

The hardness of heart you speak of is first and foremost found in the hearts of believers who would gladly sentence Adams fallen children to an eternity in the burning flames of hell and seemingly take joy in it. None or more hostile against unbelievers than those who have believed but do not understand God's eternal plan for his creatures.

In 1 John 5:16-21 you see the last line that says it all............21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. Those who refuse to admit they have and keep idols in their hearts, and vehemently refuse to give them up, claiming them to be of God but knowing they are most certainly not of God, deep down they know they are not of God. That is blaspheming the Holy Spirit! celebrating and honoring the traditions of men..............Christmas and Easter being the chief among them will get you an eternity in the lake of fire!

Jesus taught to not offend little children so any offenses against little children is against the teachings of the Father and Son. Jesus taught that all offenses against the Father and Son can be forgiven. But Offenses against the Holy Spirit is not forgivable, therefore is seems clear that offense against the Holy Spirit takes place on an entirely different and maybe simpler level of comprehension.

When people attribute the deeds of the devil to the Holy Spirit and when they accuse the deeds of the Holy Spirit to be that of demons. This confusion is the result of a lack of intimacy with Christ and Divine revelation. In the end, they reject biblical truth and the Holy Spirit.
      It is blasphemy.

Stop with all the mysterious fear mongering already.
"unforgivable" means "unpardonable" or in other words, the demands of Justice must be met, but because the offender is unclean and cannot pay, the offender must rely upon a worthy creditor.
You need to understand Who the Holy Ghost is and once you understand what people can do against the Holy Ghost, that they can not do against the Father nor against the Son, then you can understand what nature of blasphemy is being talked about. Is it verbal blasphemy or is it behavioral blasphemy. And what behavior can a person do that is pointed at the Holy Ghost? If you don't understand the Holy Ghost, then you won't be able to fully understand that sin which cannot be pardoned (overlooked) but must be settled, but not by the offender. One clue: Matt. 12 is all about the Atonement, and Jesus is setting down the spiritual principle (or Eternal Attribute/Law) upon which the Atonement is based.
Then you need to understand what is meant by "unforgivable". Does it mean: 1. Justice will never be satisfied. or 2. No pardoning or overlooking is possible, Justice must be satisfied by someone.

If you hold a sin that you refuse to admit is under the blood of Jesus and claim is right by God, that is blaspheming the Holy Spirit! Practicing and honoring the traditions of men as Holy and Right by God, are in fact said sins that Christians world wide are refusing to see as sinful. They claim that because Jesus name is attached to Christmas and Easter these cannot possibly be sinful to celebrate. God told them in Jeremiah 10 not to do them for in doing so they put them above God and His will, word, and Holy Days. This will get them put in the lake of fire for eternity! They must be told to stop celebrating Christmas, Easter and anything else pagan that the name of Jesus was attached to by the church!

@@pattyroe It seems that refusing to admit a sin that is under the blood of Christ; refusing to believe that Christ does not honor Christmas or Easter; or disobeying a servant of God such as Jeremiah; are all acts that relate to our relationship with the Father and Son; and Jesus said that ALL offenses against the Father and Son are forgivable.
Maybe an offense against the Holy Spirit relates to our former relationship with Heaven; maybe no one can return to Heaven because we have all violated the principles of oneness that exists in Heaven. Therefore we have all sinned against Heaven, it is eternal, perfect and everlasting; we are egotistical, we are corruption and subject to death; that is all antithetical to everything Heaven. We are totally reproachful to everything Heaven and can never expect to return without an Atonement performed on our behalf. Clearly we are all in sin against Heaven or the Holy Spirit.
