Just found our the passenger side arm will not extend, the driver side does and the sun blocking net seems to be missing. Thanks for your video. I hope it helps me troubleshoot my problem. I like the creativity of using the electrical wire to hold the net onto the bracket.
It is called a "spline" which is normally made of plastic or hard rubber. But, you can use a length of insulated wire as shown in the video. The spline slips into the curtain's sleeve then you slide the sleeve and the spline together in to the grove of the curtain strecher bar/curtain rod. I hope this helps.
Good work man 👏 ! 149k miles on my ls430 and the rear window shade seems to be working just fine. Although I've noticed that the shade arms aren't as rigid anymore. If I have the shade up going over rough-ish road, I can see the shade wiggling. Kinda worried at some point one of the arms will snap. I've been told that the fix is one of the worst pita's on this car.
@@Maybe1Someday Very true. Just a heads up, the doors can develop rust where that piece of chrome is halfway down the exterior door. It likes to collect water there and can tend to create rust spots. The only trick I know to prevent it is to take some wd-40 and spray along the chrome making sure to get it in the door crevice where the chrome strip sits. I've already had rust develop but I have been spraying it with wd-40 after every wash and it hasn't gotten any bigger.
Mine goes up and tilts to one side... sort of like this " / " ... have you got a solution? I would like to fix it. It's kind of embarrassing someone jumping into your car and pressing the button, only for it to not work properly
There's a forum on club lexus explaining it I would type in ls430 rear sunshade then go to club lexus when you see the results I haven't got to it but it sounded like the tension is loose or something like that

There’s a couple things that may go bad that are a pain to fix. Price you pay to drive the nicest car

Mine just did the same today
@@Lexusflexus Have you fixed it yet? Mine still does the same thing.. even had the rear deck out at one stage when I had coilovers installed.
Is the screen still attached? My screen came off the rail and so it wouldn’t go up evenly
