Every Pink Floyd Song From Lowest to Highest Rated

- On the internet, I shared a survey I created where a person can go through and rate every Pink Floyd song that exists on a 0-10 scale. I received hundreds of responses, and went through all the data averaging together the ratings for every song, and then put theming into ascending order. The result is what I believe to be perhaps the most accurate ranking of every Pink Floyd song according to the fanbase’s opinions.

I'd be curious to see the difference in response between Pink Floyd fans and music fans in general. The casual Pink Floyd listener is more likely to say Comfortably Numb or Time, but likely wouldn't know echoes

What I said was people who are just getting into Pink Floyd are more likely to rank Time highest than people who are more into Pink Floyd, which is 100% true.

seeing syd's songs respectively high just proves how good of a songwriter he truly was. See emily play was their 2nd single and it is #21, just amazing
still too low, i swear pink floyd up to and including meddle is brutally underrated compared to their later stuff, saucerful of secrets is one of their top albums imo

Syd, imo, was a perfect writer for the 60s and player by any means. But just like a lot of 60s bands he wouldn’t have survived going into the more technically proficient and expanding genres of the 70s.
People love overrating syd, I personally never enjoyed piper at the gates or most of his work. Pink Floyd became pink floyd without syd

I agree that Obscured by Clouds is an underrated album. I thought it was OK as a teenager, but I identify with it more and more as I’ve gotten older.

Judging The Wall song by song is just such a weird thing to do. Most songs don’t work out on their own, but rely on them being listened back to back.

I have all the PF albums after 1970 + Saucer, and Roger Water pros and cons, Radio Kaos, Amused to Death and In the Flesh. I love Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell as any other Album of Pink Floyd, I've always thinked from my head and not from my friends or the internet.

The Gilmour phase isn't nearly as bad as people give it shit for. Of course, it isn't as good as the Waters stuff, but A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell are great albums. You guys are missing out, Learning To Fly is one of the best songs they ever put out, change my mind.

@@scottghost6274 For me it's definitely the opposite. That song probably has my favorite mix of guitars and synths of any Pink Floyd Song. Although even the worst songs on that album are still better than 95% of songs I've listened to though.

I strongly suspect that a lot of the Pink Floyd "Fans" who took part in the survey are familiar with The Wall, Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, and... not much else. There are gems on all of their albums (Obscured by Clouds, in particular) but since "fans" aren't familiar with them, they rated them below some obvious duds from the popular albums. i.e. The Trial coming in at #33? Its fine and it fits within the album as a whole and I don't dislike it for what it is.... but as a song... better than Wots Uh... The Deal? Stay? Free Four? No. No, its not.
Fearless at number 39.....wow. So did people actually listen to it before voting? Deserves way better than 39 imo.
Echoes is phenomenal I'm not surprised it's #1, but Dogs and Shine are right behind it in my book

As a Floyd fan I feel that almost every song should have a better rating. For example Grantchester Meadows didn't even get a 6, On The Turning Away didn't even get a 7 and one of my absolute favorite Floyd songs Atom Heart Mother didn't get an 8. But I mean the people have spoken and that's okay, I'm just a little bit disappointed.
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Careful with that Axe Eugene, and a few of the earlier songs that aren’t Echoes were underrated imo.

On The Run is shockingly low. I quite enjoy the track. It's very addictive.
Took the first half of the album a step down. It doesnt make sense in the concept and took steam out of the amazing introduction tracks. Would rather they replaced it with a different track because i would rather hear the second half than the first half.

1. Final Cut is my 2nd favorite Floyd album. Even though it's not perfect, it's still good enough to be considered a timeless classic. (This is proven by parts like Gilmour's solo in Not Now John, or Fletcher Memorial Home)
2. AMLOR is not perfect, but it has its moments. (like Learning To Fly, Yet Another Movie, or On The Turning Away) Still, it is crap, for it has too many lows and too few highs.
Overall, I'll just say that I agree with your opinion but people are still allowed to have their own.
Country Song, Crumblin Land and Ibiza Bar are the most underrated

Honestly, I discovered it this week and I don't know what to think. I've been listening to this band for over 15 years and the fact that I missed such an emotional masterpiece is shocking. A devastating song, one of their best.

I think this ranking was voted by 70 years old pink floyd fans, they use to only like the waters era, because for most of fans with less than 50 year old Division Bell is one the best if not the best pink floyd album, i even know people that think AMLOR is the best. Division Bell for me is the Meddle of the 90's and Meddle is my favourite album of pink floyd.

I've always felt that Pink Floyd fans were afraid to rate Another Brick in the Wall too highly, as if they're afraid people will think it represents Pink Floyd too well. That's one of the greatest guitar solos in rock history. So it's got pop-music syncopation. A riot is supposed to be accessble and populist; it's not like that's an artistic failure.
My personal favorite album is The Wall, but favorite song is Shine on You Crazy Diamond
On one hand, disappointed that more of ObC's songs didnt land higher. Its a good album, it just gets sandwiched between the bigger ones.

I'm glad several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict got into top 100, it's their most underrated song. Such a masterpiece, a must listen to at night. Best taken at 3 am in the woods.

I know everyone has different tastes in music, but I find this list to be ridiculous. I have always felt the Money was the best song on DSOTM and should be in the top 5 overall. Fat Old Sun is Gilmour's best song written by him alone, and a 50 ranking is crazy.
