Words cannot describe how wonderfully beautiful the Continent is. The transitions between verses are flawless, the bridge, while vastly different from the rest of the song, fit perfectly with the main theme, and of course every monster had a distinct part that sounded good on it's own, and simultaneously blended seamlessly with each and every other part. I especially loved Clamble's buildup into Repatillo's beat in the bridge, but that's just one of the many standout parts that compliment the song perfectly. Easy S tier, conversation over.
I agree with your opinion on Plant island, I think it sounded a lot better back when it didn’t have Werdos and Dipsters on it. Without Werdos and Dipsters, I would rank Plant island A or S tier but with its current state C tier fits for it. With the addition of Werdos, Plant island’s song is just way too long now, it extended it a bit too much and it feels like most of the song is just the same 2 verses repeating and the Everything here is alive line is used too much.
i agree. it’s definitely one of those songs that didn’t have to be extended the way it was. i feel like when msm extends its songs, they should change which monsters play in each verse to keep them varied from on another. it’s a problem i have with how Gold Island was extended
Continent is absolutely BREATHTAKING. Don't even get me started on DRUMMIDARY. Absolute favorite percussionist in the entire series, that POWERFUL BOOMING makes the middle part shatter my eardrums in the best way possible. KING of the island.
while i didnt agree with all of the placements this was quite a fun video, the editing was very comfortable and you were fun to listen to throughout, i found myself using not using the skip button like i usually do in most videos

I never really understood the “it doesn’t sound like a party” criticism for Party Island when the Mammott verses 100% sound like something from a kid’s birthday party especially when quibble kicks in. Goofy and bombastic.
i think what most people consider a Party is something a little more upbeat, like pop, future funk, edm, etc. they imagine monsters that typically always pop off, like Deedge, Repatillo, Floogull, etc. Party DOES have strong monsters, but they’re not as “upbeat” as they are on other islands

I honestly love this tier list. i love how in depth you went explaining why you felt certain ways instead of just saying its bad. im a bit dissapointed that some of my favorites; haven, air &, shanty werent higher but im okay with that. I got so excited when you were praising space island because nobody really likes space island for some reason and I absolutely love it. As a person who plays dawn of fire the continent has been kinda ruined for me because of how much you hear it (dont play dof its not worth it). I also really love cave island and it was awsome hearing someone praise it. other wise i completely agree with the list. good job on making a good list

I love the magical sanctum, my favorite island in msm. The thing I love about magical sanctum is this though, from its first update to its last it sounds it always sounded like a completed song.
This is jsut my opinion but, am I the only one who actually appreciates the Werdos? I mean, I get it they extend the song but they add actual lyrics and stuff. I will have to agree on some of the werdos having weak lyrics but I personally love the earth island lyrics. (It could just be because of its popularity but idk)

The number of monsters make all the music feel so crowded. I loved the coziness of getting the violin monster on the original island back in 2016 or 2017 or whenever the game came out and feeling the whole track kinda coalesce more with each monster. The more monsters the more it sounds like them desperately shoehorning in extra layers of depth or unique sounds to make a crazy orchestra. Hearing that groovy dj with the keyboard swan and the singing bird on the ice island is also a core memory haha In comparison ig it just feels like late game stuff is too busy and like trying to tick boxes for completion. Im sure alot of ppl prefer that sound tho and power to them, and i suppose ppl make custom music with monsters taken out in order to fix that. U get my point tho lol.

I perfectly agree on your perspectives on light island. It is an amazing island that is S or high A tier in my opinion. Also Party island is alright. It was actually going to be called Vacation Island back then, which is why it sounds a lot calmer then one would think based off of the island name. Quibble in gold island is my favorite sound in the whole game. But Enchantling is close. I also love gold island riff because he sounds so heavy and awesome.

I dunno what it is about the Continent, but it feels like a musical reinterpretation of the prehistoric times. The calm life, the chaos brought by the meteor strike and all the ash settling to give rise to a new generation of monsters. Those are the kinds of visuals that this song brings about and despite all the new additions, none of them feel out of place Also, slifhtly off topic but I noticed something kind of cyclically terrifying about Starhenge from the lore perspective. The Celestial Island has all its elderly inhabitants turn into stone statues to survive the Henge crashing down, only to be revived as their most simplistic forms. But you can make them grow up. Does that mean Starhenge is gonna be rebuilt and the cycle is gonna continue? We also know the Islands are living creatures called Colossals (Colossi?) For the Main Islands and Titans for the Magical Islands and Seasonal variants and the description calls Enchantling a "Monster-Who-Would-Be-Titan. So do normal monsters just grow to become those immense beasts? Are all the islands going to die at some point?
Nice list! I can agree with the majority of the ranking. The only one I’m mixed on is Celestial Island, that one will always be a D tier for me because of Galvana’s verse. I can’t explain it well but it feels like there should be more there. Also, I did NOT expect the shoutout, I’m glad you liked the remix!

Hi man, are you planning to talk about amber exclusive monsters going into magicals? Most of them i think are a MASSIVE adition. Not that is good or bad, specially i think light island has changed a lot of its pace.
3:22 in defence of the lyrics… they’re bad… EXCEPT FOR THE FIRST VERSE, WOOO YEAHH BABY! Ahem, anyways, the first verse (starts with “Look at the stars”, ends with “Is it cold out?”) is great, hence why it is the only part used in the memes and stuff. So, for that verse, without the context of MSM (which is how most of us non-MSM fans first experienced it), it is quite scary in a very existential and off putting way. “Look at the stars in the big blank ink” immediately establishes the setting as a cold night, far enough from any large settlement as the stars are visible. “Tell me what you feel and tell me what you think” then establishes a theme of psychology as the singer is asking for your input (whether it’s your input on the stars, the singer themselves, or the situation changes depending on the context). “Is it cold outside?” tells us that it’s cold outside, establishing the feelings of eerie silence on a cold winter night far outside of civilization, you’re alone in the cold, locked away inside a small building. “Is it cold out?” establishes the idea that there might be something more to the outside, that maybe you’re not alone here in the snow, hence the repetition of questioning the cold. These lyrics come together to give multiple different feelings and interpretations depending on context. I feel as though it can apply to eldritch horror (stars and cold winter nights are very unsettling in a cosmic sort of way), psychological horror (asking what you think and asking questions about the outside implies someone you care for has gone outside in the cold for some reason), and probably other types of horror. It might not be scary in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Jumpscare Markiplier way, but it’s undoubtedly unnerving… if you remove every other verse because they’re so mid and remove all aspects of horror.
every new island in the video was an explosion of happiness for me, after you listen to one for a bit, the next one sounds SO GOOD. The devs made some REAL good songs. No song deserves D or F.
Honestly the only things I would change about ur list is to switch gold island, and wublin island, and tbh I never realized just how good the continent is, especially cooler now with the new addition mimic. nothing was funnier than disagreeing with some of your island opinions, checking my own islands to see if im missing something . . . and realizing those same islands i have either tempo shifted from the metronome, or have certain monsters muted/volume turned all the way down to change the song up/focus on other parts LMAO. youd be surprised how much your opinion would change about these islands if you did either of those things! amazing video, loved your commentary on everything!

Alright I know I’m more than a little late to the party (7 days) but this was a fantastic tier list!! Almost every point was explained in great detail and I loved the style of your editing! I’ve always planned to make a tier list video of the MSM islands but… I have too many priorities 😭 If there were any disagreements I had with the rankings(even tho it’s your opinion) is that Water and Tribal Island are too low. But even then I agree with a lot of the rankings. Great video! 👍

I know it’s second to the sounds usually but I’d love a video on the designs of monsters in msm. You could do it island based and include how the sound animation and design of the monsters work and what are your favorite say too 5 per island. If you really wanted to spice it up you could not allow repeats across islands since there are a lot of repeats or only do the exclusives to each island.
My opinion Plant-A It was my 2nd favorite for a while before I found out about the other islands Cold-B Air-A Water-C Earth-S Ethereal-D, not my type of music Shugabush Island-F, I love country music, just it feels out of place for My Singing Monster Tribal Island-C Wublin Island-S Celestial Island-A Fire Haven-VERY HIGH A tier Fire Oasis-High C tier Psychic-C Faerie-F, I’m sorry, it seems really messy and as much as I love the Dipsters, this is by far their worst island, Ffydyll and maybe Pladdie are the only good parts. The percussion is very weak and I think it’s the worst of the magical islands Bone-S Light-High A tier Also SkyPainting is beautiful Magical Sanctum-S Seasonal Shanty-F Only a select few Seasonals stand out on their own islands. That being Hoola, Spurrit, Monculus, Whiz-Bang, Ffydyll, and Carrilong. They lose most of that in this island. Hoola gets overpowered by Smoochle, Spurrit only has 2 Huzzahs, Whiz-Bang and Carrilong drown eachother out, Ffydyll isn’t as powerful, and this is Monculus’s worst island. That’s not all. Punkleton is too quiet, Yool is annoying, I never liked Smoochle and they are also annoying, Blabbit sets a weird tone, Jam Boree sounds weird, Gobblygourd barely exists, Boo’qwurm doesn’t do much, Clavavera is barely noticeable and Viviene does nothing Amber-S Mythical-A Gold-A Extra: Workshop- S Nexus-High A Party-F I only have the 4 naturals, but Potbelly ruins it. The full song is even worse Space-D Hot Take, I know, but just feels really weird and off. I love the magical sanctum, my favorite island in msm. The thing I love about magical sanctum is this though, from its first update to its last it sounds it always sounded like a completed song.
This is jsut my opinion but, am I the only one who actually appreciates the Werdos? I mean, I get it they extend the song but they add actual lyrics and stuff. I will have to agree on some of the werdos having weak lyrics but I personally love the earth island lyrics. (It could just be because of its popularity but idk)

The number of monsters make all the music feel so crowded.
I loved the coziness of getting the violin monster on the original island back in 2016 or 2017 or whenever the game came out and feeling the whole track kinda coalesce more with each monster.
The more monsters the more it sounds like them desperately shoehorning in extra layers of depth or unique sounds to make a crazy orchestra.
Hearing that groovy dj with the keyboard swan and the singing bird on the ice island is also a core memory haha
In comparison ig it just feels like late game stuff is too busy and like trying to tick boxes for completion.
Im sure alot of ppl prefer that sound tho and power to them, and i suppose ppl make custom music with monsters taken out in order to fix that. U get my point tho lol.

I perfectly agree on your perspectives on light island. It is an amazing island that is S or high A tier in my opinion. Also Party island is alright. It was actually going to be called Vacation Island back then, which is why it sounds a lot calmer then one would think based off of the island name. It is crazy how much msm has progressed, I have been playing it since I was little. (ALSO SCUPS IS UNDERRATED!)

I dunno what it is about the Continent, but it feels like a musical reinterpretation of the prehistoric times. The calm life, the chaos brought by the meteor strike and all the ash settling to give rise to a new generation of monsters. Those are the kinds of visuals that this song brings about and despite all the new additions, none of them feel out of place
Also, slifhtly off topic but I noticed something kind of cyclically terrifying about Starhenge from the lore perspective. The Celestial Island has all its elderly inhabitants turn into stone statues to survive the Henge crashing down, only to be revived as their most simplistic forms. But you can make them grow up. Does that mean Starhenge is gonna be rebuilt and the cycle is gonna continue? We also know the Islands are living creatures called Colossals (Colossi?) For the Main Islands and Titans for the Magical Islands and Seasonal variants and the description calls Enchantling a "Monster-Who-Would-Be-Titan. So do normal monsters just grow to become those immense beasts? Are all the islands going to die at some point?

Nice list! I can agree with the majority of the ranking. The only one I’m mixed on is Celestial Island, that one will always be a D tier for me because of Galvana’s verse. I can’t explain it well but it feels like there should be more there.

3:22 in defence of the lyrics… they’re bad… EXCEPT FOR THE FIRST VERSE, WOOO YEAHH BABY! Ahem, anyways, the first verse (starts with “Look at the stars”, ends with “Is it cold out?”) is great, hence why it is the only part used in the memes and stuff. So, for that verse, without the context of MSM (which is how most of us non-MSM fans first experienced it), it is quite scary in a very existential and off putting way. “Look at the stars in the big blank ink” immediately establishes the setting as a cold night, far enough from any large settlement as the stars are visible. “Tell me what you feel and tell me what you think” then establishes a theme of psychology as the singer is asking for your input (whether it’s your input on the stars, the singer themselves, or the situation changes depending on the context). “Is it cold outside?” tells us that it’s cold outside, establishing the feelings of eerie silence on a cold winter night far outside of civilization, you’re alone in the cold, locked away inside a small building. “Is it cold out?” establishes the idea that there might be something more to the outside, that maybe you’re not alone here in the snow, hence the repetition of questioning the cold. These lyrics come together to give multiple different feelings and interpretations depending on context. I feel as though it can apply to eldritch horror (stars and cold winter nights are very unsettling in a cosmic sort of way), psychological horror (asking what you think and asking questions about the outside implies someone you care for has gone outside in the cold for some reason), and probably other types of horror. It might not be scary in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Jumpscare Markiplier way, but it’s undoubtedly unnerving… if you remove every other verse because they’re so mid and remove all aspects of horror.
every new island in the video was an explosion of happiness for me, after you listen to one for a bit, the next one sounds SO GOOD. The devs made some REAL good songs. No song deserves D or F.
Honestly the only things I would change about ur list is to switch gold island, and wublin island, and tbh I never realized just how good the continent is, especially cooler now with the new addition mimic. Overall great list and this is the yt video I watched while eating my food. Keep up the great work!

nothing was funnier than disagreeing with some of your island opinions, checking my own islands to see if im missing something . . . and realizing those same islands i have either tempo shifted from the metronome, or have certain monsters muted/volume turned all the way down to change the song up/focus on other parts LMAO. youd be surprised how much your opinion would change about these islands if you did either of those things! amazing video, loved your commentary on everything!

I know it’s second to the sounds usually but I’d love a video on the designs of monsters in msm. You could do it island based and include how the sound animation and design of the monsters work and what are your favorite say too 5 per island. If you really wanted to spice it up you could not allow repeats across islands since there are a lot of repeats or only do the exclusives to each island.

Only a select few Seasonals stand out on their own islands. That being Hoola, Spurrit, Monculus, Whiz-Bang, Ffydyll, and Carrilong. They lose most of that in this island. Hoola gets overpowered by Smoochle, Spurrit only has 2 Huzzahs, Whiz-Bang and Carrilong drown eachother out, Ffydyll isn’t as powerful, and this is Monculus’s worst island. That’s not all. Punkleton is too quiet, Yool is annoying, I never liked Smoochle and they are also annoying, Blabbit sets a weird tone, Jam Boree sounds weird, Gobblygourd barely exists, Boo’qwurm doesn’t do much, Clavavera is barely noticeable and Viviene does nothing
