As a person with over 70k minutes listened to JID I have to say that the problem with bruuuh is that it doesn’t have the story telling and as a single it doesn’t offer the overarching ideas that many other songs of his have

Absolutely. It was the one that got me into his music. And the forever story is now my favorite album
'Bruuuh' being almost last is mind-blowing to me, The grimy sound and lyrical content as well as the criminally underrated generational verse from Denzel definitely puts it near the top of my list.

When I saw JID live, Hereditary rose to be one of my favourite songs. Maybe because his vocals have grown since then and the live performance hit different, but Hereditary is now top 5 imo
Thank you for putting Bruddanem as high as you did, it’s such a nice track that fits so well coming after Kody Blu, I’ve always had this weird self-fiction where The Forever Story is almost like 3 days, and Kody Blu is the end of the first, while Bruddanem begins the second, as it’s poppy opening and upbeat lyrics kinda fit that.
Also the Durk feature is surprisingly amazing

That's an interesting take, especially considering he's dropped only one album in this decade, but I'm not at all mad at that take ngl.
My pick is easily Boldy James. Since he dropped 'The Price Of Tea In China' in early 2020, he's been dropping nothing but stellar projects multiple times a year, and his rapping is some of the best this generation.
Other honorable mentions who IMO should also be considered in this conversation are peeps like JPEGMAFIA, Little Simz, Rome Streetz, Conway The Machine, Black Thought, and Denzel Curry.

J.I.D was the first artist I ever felt the need to put people onto back in high school. I remember listening to his freshman cypher and thinking “gawdamn! I’ve gotta check out more of his stuff now” and boy has he not disappointed since. With a perfect balance of quantity and quality, he’s dropped album of the year contenders consistently (and aoty last year imo), always expanding my field of knowledge mentally, artistically, and sonically. The first artist I ever felt the need to put people onto and one that I still do.
P.S. Big Black Truck would be a top 15 contender for me

Hereditary and tiiied and 2007 imo need to be top 5. Tiiied and Hereditary are the songs that made me realize Jid’s singing abilitys and 2007 story is entertaining and I could actually understand his pov. And things of that nature

While you rated a lot of my favorite JID songs way lower than I would, I can't blame you. It's impossible to rank some JID songs over others, since most of his music is equal in quality but good in different ways. Like how can someone even compare Kody Blu 31 with a song like Slick Talk, they're both incredible in completely different ways

I saw him live 4 times in the past year. I was most impressed by Lauder Too. It’s a song Iiked at first, and then I saw him perform it live… the ABSOLUTE EASE he has while he raps the “hard bits” is insane. He was chillin on his heels while rapping what felt like 100 words per second

Jude is my favorite artist. I watched this when I didn’t really listen to him. I watched it when I knew all of the forever story and now I know pretty much every song in this catalog I always come back to this video.

What’s funny about this is that I’ve been waiting for this video to come out for so long, but when I see the notification in my feed I completely ignored it.
Underwear at the top over so many others… This is by far the weirdest ranking I could come up with. Also DiCaprio and Para Tu have some of his best songs. LeHooligangs is top 5 in his discography… Arguably the hardest verse from EARTHGANG in his whole discography. I’ve never disagreed with a list more, and I agreed with your others. Also Workin Out is #1

I love jid.
To me, JID is just clear of anybody actively dropping Rap music at the minute. His flow, lyricism, just everything about the work he puts out is head and shoulders above the competition for me. His album was AOTY for me last year without doubt. I went to see him earlier this year in Manchester, and honestly it was amazing. His crowd interaction and performance was the best I've seen. I can't wait for what he brings out in the future.
