Mickey B. - AA Speaker - "His Funniest talk EVER!"
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 окт 2013
- This tape is hilarious! :) Mickey B. is an incredibly funny AA speaker who also shares a wonderful and powerful story of recovery! This is one of my all time favorites and I love the little sayings and acronyms Mickey puts in there. This is a VERY entertaining share and is sure to have you laughing throughout! Enjoy! :)
Addiction treatment WORKS! The Twelve Step Model has been utilized as a treatment for alcohol abuse and alcoholism since 1935. It is extremely important to know that help IS out there and addiction recovery is possible. If you are battling alcoholism, drug addiction, addiction or any other form of addictive behavior, there are people who know EXACTLY what it is like!
You can find out more at: www.aa.org - Alcoholics Anonymous Official Site - As should be blatantly obvious, we are in no way affiliated with them or any other Twelve Step Program. We are just looking to provide hope to those suffering from alcoholism or addiction.
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her alcohol abuse treatment. Substance abuse is a very serious condition and has become an epidemic in today's world. Many people suffering with substance abuse need treatment, such as inpatient stays, rehab, or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction issues. Help IS out there!
Every tape is carefully selected to ensure its quality and that it is entertaining to listen to. You can trust Odomtology 12-Step Recovery Media to be synonymous with the best online recovery material out there. QUALITY is our mission. This is why we have such a large and engaged following. I had 4 years sober but I recently relapsed, 5 days sober again. These talks are helping me so much. So grateful for this fellowship. God bless yall
Wonderful! One day at a time!
Mickey B does a very good job of clarifying what many people don't understand today - hitting bottom is not a physical thing or external thing. It is an internal state of hopelessness, desperation, powerless, lonely, helpless, welcoming death
I'm listening to this speaker tape while working on my 4th step. so happy to be in this community. love you all. one day at a time
How are you today?
This was awesome. I needed to here this. 3 days 3 hrs 10 minutes sober as of now. Pushing forward.
I hope you are now counting months, not just the minutes. Keep coming back, one day at a time. From a fellow alcoholic, sober one day at a time, now sober for 353 days.

In my 10th year, been one of the trickiest periods in a while, I'm 9 ½ years sober. Relationship up in the air, some work stuff and had my brother turn up after 14 years whose full blown addict. Had to take a little time out from everything an go back to basics, but God is somehow steering me through. Love to you all. Have a great day, the sober way!!!
Keep coming back ❤

@@Sharsie did you go?
Great talk! My sobriety date is 6/26/1981. I called Mickey as he said to; he is a genuine dude. I asked him his secret to wealth: “Keep sobriety number one and the money will just happen.” It hasn’t been entirely true but in 40 years I’ve never been hungry, cold or wet. Sobriety is the way to go for sure! Thanks for posting this.
Well done you are amazing please try peass this message to Mickey d twelve steps na annonanmous

Glad I woke up sober today. Glad the algorithm threw this at me. Just got back from taking my 6 y.o. and 4.5 y.o. to universal studios. Little over 7 years ago I was hopeless, and hopeless. Thank God for the big book. Thank God for alcoholics anonymous.

OMFG! The light just came on for me FINALLY! Now I can get past step1 and properly do step2...Thanks Mickey..Im on my way now. Love the Duck & Eagle and The fellow who told ya you were more important than a movie realty helps me to act on ,not just think about ,picking up the phone and calling strangers. That alone has been keeping me "slave" to my addiction as I am not exactly what you call a "people person". THANK YOU again Mickey! Oh and also thanks for your phone number too. Ill be calling you as soon as I finish posting this. Love you man. Steve Carson.
Appreciate yall putting this play list together as I have a hard time making meetings every day and these play list help to fill in the blanks. Thank you!
loved it, especially the acronyms!! 18 months
Mickey B...helped me realize I belonged in AA...I knew I was an addict. His humor showed me how sick I was back then! Thank God and AA that I am 31 years sober...amazing! If you are new, stick with it. It’s so worth it.
I couldn't stay sober, you couldn't stay sober but together WE could stay sober. Hitting bottom is asking for help, and all I had to do was ask for some help- it's so true. I asked for help and from there I was sent to one meeting, and then another and shortly after that I had dozens of people I was speaking to. Suddenly, you wouldn't believe it- I was sober! It was a miracle, and sure it took me a few falls, but I kept getting back up and I kept showing up. Today I am alive, and I haven't felt this good before in my life. Some days are harder than others, but they don't even compare to the days I used to be drunk!
Thanks so much for sharing your story. I have listened to this for a week over and over. It helped me get hrough the grirf of this illness taking my mother to the grave. Love you Micky.
I was the manager of an AA/NA meeting CLUB.....if you say club in bad way, it wasn't, actually it was quite the opposite....On Saturday evening we would invite special speakers to our CLUB to share their story. We invited Mickey B on 2 separate occasions and we literally filled the entire building to include 2 other meeting rooms having to use speakers. Mickey B is a phenominal speaker with a great sense of humor but most importantly he carries the message. I know of a few people, that after listening to him speak, maintained at least a 6 year period of recovery....I left California after 6 years and never kept up with them but I hope the have maintained their sobriety after all these years....if you can by the tapes of Mickey B.....buy them, buy them all - they are great.
Oh, and today I have 29 years 8 months of sobriety.
Deborah Brown I was sober 2.5 yeaars. Then I got dumb and drank a beer. Miracles do happen. Listening to Mick is like watching Jim Carrey at his peak. I am going sober again tomorrow.
I've went to less than 20 AA meetings but I have been sober for a little over 32 years. I was a very heavy drinker, mostly drunk from 16 to 44. I could hold a job but would drink on the job. Most roofing crews do. Lots of DWI.s during this time. A day came in 1985 and I had a choice go down on skid row with the rest of the drunks or get sober for good. that's the day I quit. I was all by myself crying hard and just couldn't take anymore of the drinking.
3 weeks sober, and going strong, its a miracle that i found AA…
I thought that it was a bunch of hippies sitting in a cirkle and drinking funny tea, But was i surpriced when i found out that these guys are exactly like me !
If you need help, please go to an AA meeting and be part of a wonderfull group of the most beautiful people on the planet !
Two whole days sober!
28 days. Content.
@@arturos6883 x I hope that you are continuing in your recovery and taking the steps, getting to meetings.
Yay! Love it! My God, you are so loved!!
Get to bed without a drink .one Day at a time or one minute or one second.Stay strong
93 days sober. My sponsor recommended listening to this. I love the approach to the topic 😅yet so much content, all delivered in a Limey accent. Don't forget, step 1 is the most important step. 🙏🏼😎👍🏼
I enjoyed this tape more than any Iv listened too. Thank you Mickey B. I love my sobriety . I didn't laugh this much when drinking. Or I don't remember it if I did.
Loretta Billings listen to earl h also
Adam t is great too
Thanks for posting this. I needed it. Thank you Mickey!!!!!!
Love Mickey B.'s share and it was awesome when I heard him in Rocky Point Roundup in 2006? 2007? Unfortunately he kind of has a stand up routine. Every other share I've heard from conventions like this it's almost identical. But still love him and his message. Gratefully Sober since 10/31/05. ❤
Unfortunately? I like a little humor put into speakers and also the serious speakers. God bless
I loved the part of going out for a drink in london and waking up in spain... oh lord... It happend to me
I love him. He is a sweetheart & He saved my life in 1986. ❤ I still use his stuff when I speak.

So grateful for your story. Very good way to share your experience, strength and hope 😊❤
One of the best speakers I've heard. Thank you!
Awesome speaker. Enjoy listening over and over. Set the bar so high that I have a hard time listening to other speakers. Find myself stopping mid way thru and going back to this one. Ive tried other mickey recordings but its pretty much the same as this one. He was on fire this night. Thanks mickey.
I have 19 years and this is one of the better speakers I've heard. I love the acronyms.😅
Love this guy ! THANKS Mickey Bush I totally could relate. WE ALL APPRECIATE YOU VERY MUCH GBU ALWAYS 👐
“I‘m no specialist. I’m a chemical gourmet, me. I told my sponsor I’m a chemical connoisseur, he said no Mick, you’re a chemical kind-of-sewer is what you are”
Listened to this tape for years. Still cracks me up every time

I must say his story have helped me to see my true self thank you aa/na and micky b
Listening to this after a meeting, never enough AA, just like it was with booze. 6/2/17
Funny as shit. I love this Man!
I hope you are still going clean healthy strong and sober.
Hi Sharon Ernst!
keep coming back, your higher power can be anything that gets you to a meeting or stops you from taking that first drink.
You bring me comfort and make me lol., thankyou a million times over for sharing ❤❤❤
Met him at my first AA convention in 1991.
He helped me live again. Thank you mister Bush for sharing.
mickey b you saved my life!
+Jeff LaCombe I did not post that
Listen guys, we are powerless, insane and control freaks. Get a sponsor. Work the steps. Help others. Boom
And hope god intervenes it’s a divine gift not every one in the rooms are addicts I had it for a while then god put me on my bk and I was out for 2 more years , that hurt but I be came humble then and learnt god either is or isn’t . . Tanks to this fellowship old timer sponsorship that suggested to me that there is a answer and a precise plan set out 🙏🏻💜📘🚀💪🏼
Almost 800 days sober. Finally, I am able to step outdoors without so much fear. Thank God I am Sober.
I’ve heard this over 20+ times and when I’m stressed and I need to get shit done… I listen to this… it raises my spirits 😅
Love the tape!! Great talk, hilarious and true!! Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you Mickey b....very funny share and great message
Wow I love that guy. I laughed and I cried... discovered many profound ideas I've been missing.
Good to hear it straight from the gut. Not drinking and going to mtgs doesn't treat alcoholism. All those one liners are not in the Big Book.....under any and all conditions , 90 and 90 only got me 90 days. Any Monkey can get sober , but living right takes work. If alcohol was our problem AA would be 100% successful. Alcoholism comes in people , not bottles !!
Thanks Mickey
Peace
Martin Rodgers many meetings announce "Please turn off all electronic devices during the meeting so as not to disturb people who are sharing." that of course, if they actually listen to the format...
russell bidwell "To listen or not to listen"
AMEN
Martin Rodgers yep
Martin Rodgers Amen !! The new thing in AA , is to find out a person's last name and Google them. Then Gossip. Sad but true. I personally could care less. I give my full name since it's as detrimental to stay anonymous in AA , as it is to not be anonymous to media.
Peace
My mother took a drink the drink look a drink and that drink killed my mother on the 18th of Feb. I realy needed to laugh thanks for sharing Micky!
🙏🏻💜🕯🕯🕯 lost my da 19 moths ago 💪🏼☮️

Hitting bottom is an inside thing. Outside disasters can lead to it, but they aren't it. Feeling powerless, helpless and hopeless asking for help, surrendering. He sent me to you. We can do what I can't do. You+me = baby
This would make us wonder why we kept going and didn’t get sober before we did. I’m so grateful to be sober since 10th September 2023. My life has got so much better peaceful thanks to CA and the steps. It’s a life beyond my dreams, I wish it for everyone to give it a try.
Our paths are all different, but everything was on purpose to get us where we are today. Sober and helping others.
fantastic! love what he talks about regarding mind altering ... just wonderful!!!
Thank you, Mickey.
Enjoyed listening home alone in my head needed to hear you keep up keep on
I called him once after i got out of jail, in the druggie tank they played this speaker tape............ his number is 1 800 r u sober. he is a great guy to talk to has some great stuff to say and will get you started working steps before you realize it.
Great Stuff! This speaker meeting took place in my hometown! Reno NV not an easy place to get sober or stay sober! With 24 hour drinking, gambling and prostitution.... it's an orgy of 12 step recovery! LOL 3 Years!
1 year and 4 months sober today. Grateful to God and Alcoholics Anonymous for helping me on my journey 🙏🏼.
One day at a time!
I thought I could beat this thing too - over and over I exhaustively tried.

Hungry Angry Lonely Tired. I may be two years in recovery, but many of the acronyms I learned in tx must be lost in the wide synaptic clefts, waiting to be retrieved by forlorn dendritic branches...I guess I should revisit this with my new sponsor before I go bananas!

25 yrs. God willing one day at a time😎
At minute 40, explains why many of us who have recovered are no longer powerless (we have connected to a higher power and therefore are not powerless).
