  • Sometimes in an AA meeting, or with some speakers, you hear talk of the spiritual "side" of the AA program. Sandy B., in this talk, shares how the ENTIRE program is spiritual and how deep and powerful it is. Overcoming obstacles, great and small, AA makes it possible to live in the world with peace and serenity. We meet our challenges, celebrate our triumphs, and carry the message of hope to the still suffering in AA. The whole thing is a spiritual action! There is no speaker better to cover this topic and Sandy does it in the most eloquent manner I have ever heard!
You can find out more at: www.aa.org - Alcoholics Anonymous Official Site - As should be blatantly obvious, we are in no way affiliated with them or any other Twelve Step Program. We are just looking to provide hope to those suffering from alcoholism or addiction.
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her alcohol abuse treatment. Substance abuse is a very serious condition and has become an epidemic in today's world. Many people suffering with substance abuse need treatment, such as inpatient stays, rehab, or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction issues. Help IS out there!
Every tape is carefully selected to ensure its quality and that it is entertaining to listen to. You can trust Odomtology 12-Step Recovery Media to be synonymous with the best online recovery material out there. QUALITY is our mission. This is why we have such a large and engaged following. Remove my low self esteem. My neediness for attention. My obsessive judgmental mind. My need to control situations. My perfectionism. My obsessive victimhood n self pity. These are my defects. Only by telling someone my whole life story. Childhood. Feeling the uselessness of the flaws. Asking God daily to take them away. Because I’m enough. As are YOU.

@@Robert-fv3vn consciously there? Maybe. But we don’t want to be those long term AA guys who come in and are just “good” - they have no true spiritual connection to their higher power. They seem to rely too much on humans.

Usually the format is to tell What it was like, what happened and what it’s like now. The what happened is the transformation. This part is rarely done. Just like here. Not enough focus on that aspect. AAs at time appear to want to be entertaining. Notice how he like many skip over that and essentially speak of the “results” of the program. He dosent go in depth on the transformation itself. Nieither do most meetings.

To get a sponsor and to go through step 4 including resentments and my character defects and to inventory it each night is ideal for me, I know I want to do it every night, I am starting to do inventory most nights,is helpful, making me aware each evening of character defects and things I need to change. Best wishes. Try another group or online as well. There is a worldwide accessible online, from1770 Agnes Waters in Australia, available 24/7 on zoom,I love this.

Or perhaps this entire pitch is in the transformation. How numerous problems (beyond losing the power of choice in drink) continued to arise and how the speaker must continue to let go of ego, pray for the willingness to have his defects be removed (100%) and live as much of his time in a place where their in a position of neutrality (“floating” as one man said recently). Not disturbed (chewing on a resentment) or trying to take from life. Instead trying to be in ultimate service of others.
Along with all of the anecdotes that arise out of these continued failures: issues in relationships, loss of work, financial instability, fears, depression, unhappiness.
Yea, “he’s funny” but I heard a pattern of solution becoming more and more easily tapped into. Isn’t that perhaps in and of itself the journey of “transformation”?
