I owe my life to Clancy's Pacific group. He made it clear that there is a solution and my sobriety date is 06/26/1977.

Clancy's disease of perception talk was basically mandatory listening in my original sponsorship tree and homegroup...he is the first person ever to explain the disease to me that made complete sense, and I new it to the core...
'this man knows all about me...and there is a solution!'
I got to see him in Wisconsin 3 times before he passed.
He is such a great guy, helped so many people.

I got sober in Clancy's Pacific Group.. I owe my sobriety to Clancy's foundation and program of action (I have 29 years +). He saw me in a coffee shop some 6 years after I left the PG and he remembered my name.. I didn't think he even knew who i was. When i had a day sober I almost walked out of his backyard... angry that he was calling everyone near-do-wells (I later learned this was part of his jest). My AA eskimo friend ran after me and dragged me back.. and I fell in love with his Saturday softball regiment. I owe my life to AA; Clancy, and his brand of the program. This took me way back.. a great listen. Thank you AA.

This video was posted exactly 1 week after I gave sobriety a real shot. What a crazy roller-coaster ride of emotions that first year was. Lasted about 19 months before a relapse. Went out over a petty resentment and a bad case of self-pity... No thing is so bad that a relapse won't make worse. So glad I made it back in! Next October I'll have 5 years, SO SO GRATEFUL!! ♥️

Sweet William in Bozeman and gave me a copy of Clancy many years ago and he said kid go home and listen to this guy and bring it back to me tomorrow and tell me if you still think you're crazy that was the summer of 1992 and it kept me sober and gave me insight into my real problem which is not ingesting alcohol it's living with this brain. Clancy saved so many lives by helping little Knuckleheads like me understand that the solution to the problem isn't stopping drinking it's learning how to live.

But I went to both NA & AA for years. Today I tend to go to AA Meetings because I find more quality sobriety there. I would be looking for a temporary Sponsor to help you with your immediate needs. Clancy and Tom K. are two of my all-time Hollywood heroes.
Legends who've saved trillions-of-show-business lives in Hollywood, oh and not just Hollywood people/lives - everyone, every occupation, all walks of life.
Honesty saves lives, and these two are among the most honest/honorable Gentlemen on the planet.
Tom K. drove 35 miles from Sherman Oaks, CA and at 11 p.m. at night.
To the club Clancy started many years back on Ohio very close to the Veteran's compound.
For I'd just moved West, ran out of money, was partying too hard - i.e. not taking care of business.
Tom K. basically gave me Life in Hollywood - breathed it back into me and by Caring.
Love you Tom, love you Clancy - thanks from the very bottom of my heart.
This goes to L.A.'s strongest group/people - the Pacific Group.
Despite his hilarious talk here, Clancy's won at all walks-of-lives, having once invented the advertising slogan and
    campaign for Elsie-the-Cow.
A campaign that made ME want to get, go into advertising.
Sure enough advertising on huge Madison Avenue was my first professional job post grad school - i.e. Toyota Retail serving the tri-state area of NY, NJ and CT.
Might look Clancy up over the Holidays, i.e. go down, give volunteer service at "Midnight Mission" on Skid Row.

Lean on sober people around you and stick to it. If you want your life back you have no other choice but to put in the work! One day at a time 💕

My neighbor Bill and I hitchiked to LA in 1967, and ran out of money, and another Street person suggested we knock on the door of th Midnight Mission and ask for a meal and a flop. We knocked on these black (?) steel doors, and a growly old bastard opened it and asked what we wanted. We told him what our Street guide said, and Clancy looked at us,i we in our
20's, and snarled and said, "get out of here, you haven't suffered enough." 10 years later, on 3/24/1977, I had my last drink, in So. Calif, and in my first 4 Years of Sobriety and Service Work, got to know
Clancy, Paul O. Chuck C, Annie, and other local speakers. and never joined Clancy's Saturday yard group at his house, but always got a hug from these 3 Men, as we met from time to time throughout the Country. They were "water walkers," to we newcomers and never lacked REAL humility. I left Calif. in 6/81 with my family, but these Men and many others live in my heart and Recovery
    today and everyday. TYG.

I was listening to Clancy on a RUclips recording and I came upon your comment. I don’t know you, but I can certainly pray for you. Believe me, I know how hard it can be, but it can be done what my sponsor drilled into me was to keep my head in just today literally take it one day at a time he suggested not tell myself I’ll never drink again. all I need to do is tell myself I’m not going to drink today, I have 42 years sober now just one day at a time. If necessary go to two or three meetings a day for a while to jumpstart things. I’ve been a little out of sorts lately so today I’m going to 2 meetings and I’m going to do that for the next couple of days. Almost without fail it works every time after a couple of days of multiple meetings a day. I’m back on track and feeling good again. If you happen upon my comment and you wish to text me back you are welcome to. My name is Mark, I am in New Jersey and you can text me if you want at 908-500-5736. I wish you all the best never give up.

Thank you Mr. McDonald. In reviewing my comment though I realize I should have also commented to Mr. Perry that although I do not agree with his comment everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I appreciate that he is seeking his own knowledge to add to his own portfolio. For that I respect his investigation of recovery videos and wish him all the best in what might be observed as his own work on applied recovery, if indeed that is the case. I believe alcoholics, recovering or not, are all kindred souls who need to support each other for the long haul! My apologies Mr. Perry.
