I just came home from “treatment “ not even a whole week ago. And the devil and the disease have me in so much of a funk that I feel like dying. But praise God for a second chance and thank God for love. I’m going to be ok

I know that feeling. I have 39 days today. Im not a cryer, but I cried for the first time last night because when I thought of the disaster my life has been from this disease it hurt. I'm really recovering now and it is painful sometimes, but my life is still better than it was when I was out there. I thank God for AA and for getting me sober. God bless you

God Bless You......its ok to be in a funk the difference now can be that your reaction to bad feelings will determine the outcome I was in a funk so often & my sponsor would always say things to me that were so simple and eventually really helped & one of the those things was "my feelings won't kill me" she would say repeat after me....."I don't feel good today...
      stay clean anyway"
if I don't go get high...
      still, I will get by"
I can appreciate these simple sentiments on such a greater level as she was right, as time continues to pass I may not be exactly where I wanna be I also haven't made anything worse either!
My sobriety date is July 31st, 2018

Excellent relatable speaker.......one of the best speakers on the planet himself! Thanks for the insight, I appreciate how articulate you are as a speaker! When I hear someone who advocates alcohol recovery through a past of worldly experience himself who appears as intelligent as you do, I wish every average person could hear and see what those who suffer from alcoholism have the potential to be like once they discover recovery. We are not alone and we are as valuable as any other!
