Oh yeah… large update that takes several minutes to load along with the FlySafe database update … but it’s exciting.! Still waiting for that darn Mini 3 to ship…. nothing worse than being used.
Hopefully it ships soon!

The fact that this wasn't a thing from the very begging blows my mind... The fact that this drone doesn't have HQ mode and a 40mm focal length like the 2 pro has me so upset.. HQ mode is what made the shots look more cinematic. Now we get a focal length of 162 which is actually too much and we don't even get full control over it until a firmware update 6 months later?!?! Doesn't make any sense...
I shoot about 90% in HQ mode.... so strange that it dissapeared from all the newer models...
Buying any drone over 249g which doesn't have a C label is perhaps not the best idea right now.
Much as I would like to buy a Mavic 3, no C label means no sale.
A zoom lens can change focal length. For example, a 70mm - 200mm f/2.8 is a zoom lens. A telephoto lens is a single focal length lens than is usually 85mm or longer. For instance, a 135mm f/1.8 lens is a telephoto lens. The 162mm lens on the Magic 3 is a TELEPHOTO lens, not a zoom lens. Digital zoom is possible, but that has nothing to do with the lens. Digital zoom is just cropping done by the software, and should be avoided for the best quality image.

Forgot to say… There WAS an “outdoor” feature on the RC Pro that boosts the screen brightness.... but it went away. I had it for a couple of hours, and it's now MIA.
Do you experience the constant disconnection between the drone n the controller? I have since last month. Scary.
Looks like dji payed to several youtubers and medias to highlight this update. I cant find official post on dji forum with update list. Usually dji post in there and no one cares, but now dji went different direction...
This is a massive update for the Mavic 3 - unlocking its potential in my opinion. I got an early preview to try it out and showcase it.

At 'last' .... I'm basically a photographer / my passion! I only slid into drones for that elusive different angle of a photo due to elevation. My channel was started as a push from a very old friend and colleague. It opens up a view of remote Scottish Highland hikes and their vistas ~ which is my aim to share. These adjustments for me is what I've been wanting for 🎅 thank you for sharing.....

Never even tried the tele camera given all the absolutely horrible reviews on it...but will have to install this update and give it a "test drive"

apparently it will work with the new mini 3 controller although I can't get it to pair but that's the word on the street if you find out how to do it please share. Great video my friend 😁👍👌🇬🇧
If I heard correctly, DJI is suppose to release a separate firmware update for it specifically and that it wasn’t fully included in this recent update. I would continue to double check on this though as I just realized I couldn’t see any of the new updates until I updated my DJI Fly app.

Great video Matthew. Are you based on the north coast? I've flown drones for 8 years and finding the magic 3 so so twitchy and over sensitive to fly. Would love to compare it to another model. Great channel mate
Hi Richard, I am based near the North Coast. Have you tried playing around with the gain & expo settings to try and lower the sensitivity of the Mavic 3? I lowered my settings a little to make it smoother! Thanks for the kind feedback!

I have the standard Mavic 3 and Apple device, although I am on the beta platform. It should be live very shortly if it isn't already!

Updated today. It's not much of an improvement. Explorer mode is the same. You can now use the 7x camera in regular mode, but you still have to stop the recording to do it, even if you're using the same resolution and frame rate, pretty stupid. The only improvement I see is you can record 50 fps with the 7x camera. Still can't use the 7x camera in quick shots. Do have 3x now in regular mode, but you're not gonna get 4k.
Nice updates. Still the telephoto camera is only 8-bit. Software update cannot fix that

There is an EXTREMELY SIGNIFICANT FLAW in this firmware update. This is utterly disappointing as my work depends on this feature.
The ability to vary exposure (ISO, f-stop, shutter speed) is no longer an option during hyperlapses. The work i do for my clients is extremely dependent on this ability as I capture hyperlapses during times of day where light is constantly changing (sunrise / sunset). I'm not only disappointed, I'm extremely shocked at this and need to find a way to revert back to the old firmware.
If your thing is hyperlapses, DO NOT update the firmware yet until DJI fixes this.
Parallaxes - is mavic 3 killer feature

I updated to the latest firmware yet everything still the same. The zoom lens is still in auto mode only
I'm having the same issue here, even tried using DJI assistant and nothing, new firmware was properly installed just not showing these new features for some reason. Any help is appreciated

I updated the Firmware to v01.00.0700 and it does not show these features. It does not have the RAW option neither PRO option for the zoom lens. Weird.

Mattheww, at Helens Bay the other day with my dji mini 2. I was taking a video of ones in the sea when I played the video back I noticed small black spots in the water, where the light was bouncing off the water. Would this be over exposure?

@@Desaura black spots sound more like underexposure rather than overexposure. The best way to prevent this is to use the histogram and try to make sure most of the graph is to the center with nothing crushed to either end. Hope that helps!
@@TheDroneCreative They appear when the light was bouncing off the water. The parts of the water that wasn't as shiny didn't have them. Thank you for the replies BTW.

Absolutely not, most of the updates are for the standard edition - which is the one I have.
