After watching this video, I checked some of my recent footage of "Quickshots" and you are spot on in terms of them NOT carrying the resolution over from the video mode. This is really annoying the first time someone has identified this in any RUclips video as far as I know. A really BIG thanks for this as I will remember to check this in the future. I would still recommend waiting for the drone to lock onto 20 satellites. A few months ago Ian In London lost his Mini 3 Pro. He took off at about 11 satellites locked, but the Mini 3 Pro began moving slowly backwards (while Ian was focused on the Fly App) and it hit a tree branch over a ravine. It fell down the ravine wall and was unrecoverable.
I'm a seasoned operator and learned a couple of new things. Thanks, always great to watch your content.

I’ve been flying DJI drones for over two years now, and did not know (until this great video) that “Normal” mode was the default mode even if the controller starts out in “C” or “S” position! Very cool to learn this. Even cooler that a guy like me in California can learn it and see it demonstrated by a guy in Ireland!

been flying drones for about 5 years now. Upgraded from my old Phantom 4 to the Mavic 3 Classic. These are great "reminder" tips really for ANY drone user. In my case, I'm now orientating myself to a new model. Good stuff here. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.

Thank you! Totally agree! Loving the Mavic 3 Classic at the minute, especially with the higher winds we are getting currently in Northern Ireland - the classic handles it with ease.
You mentioned it briefly, but it's important to check wind speed and direction and preferably head out into the wind and not against
Great advice! Nothing worse than turning the drone around and realizing you have to fly it back in a headwind.

I didn't think I'd learn anything and I was so wrong. I might have learned at least 8-9 things easily. No more pounding of the chest for me...haha. That 'brake' button I needed(did not know it was there) just yesterday. I came within a meter of an electrical wire and almost had a heart attack.I may have to watch again.
I wish their was obstacle avoidance on sport mode for the DJI mini 3 pro they would be awesome 🔥

My mistake, night filming and not having the lateral flight disabled. I was in tight spaces and became disoriented and landed/crashed safely in a pine tree 50’ up. Drone fell from tree during retrieval and broke an arm impacting the ground! Thankfully, DJI has a fantastic repair program and I had to drive back in a week at a cost only $85 US. Inexpensive mistake luckily for me.
Sorry to hear that! As you mention though the Care Refresh program is excellent. I damaged my Avata and had a new one within 3 days of returning the broken drone. Was very impressed.

I had a hawk kamikaze into my drone and it somehow ripped the battery out mid air and I wasn't sure where it landed because it lost connection before it fell so I recommend putting an air tag on your drone. I got lucky and found mine but it's still a risk

I didn't realize APAS puts in unavailable mode 360 camera sensors to avoid obstacles in sport mode and that is possible be flying in different mode while button of flying mode is in another mode as Soort or Sunny so clicking again does that screen icon and this button coincided...

Been flying for a bit more than 3 years at this point; the most important tip I can give to beginners is, don't 100% the sticks at low altitude! Anybody (experienced or not) will crash in no time.

Thank you. Yeah it's a shame, but I have been using the Mavic 3 in mostly A3 category conditions since it came out and I haven't found it to be too much of a hindrance. That being said I mostly fly in rural countryside locations! But I wouldn't be too concerned!
Maybe I am wrong, but I thought that the C1 classification on the new Mavic 3 Classic was positive in so far as you can now fly in in the A1 Category. Unless I have misunderstood the rules, I thought this means that you only need the Flyer ID (and Operator ID as you own and maintain it). Aren't the only flying differences between the Mavic 3 Classic & Mini 2 (sub 250g models) is that you need to keep 50m away from uninvolved people and not intentionally fly over them?
Trev the CAA and DFT say they are not going to recognise the new C ratings in the UK and I think they say they will review in 3 years

Hi Mathew. Great video, as are all your clips. I just bought the classic, and plan to have it follow me in my boat through small rivers and creeks. When the battery is getting low and it decides to return to home, how do I make it return to the controller, instead of taking off in the wrong direction. For the most part I agree with MB. Use the normal color profile unless you need to do something special in post. Most eyes will not be good enough to understand any quality gains with D-cinelike, HLG or D-log without an edited side-by-side comparison. And honestly, IMO LUTs aren't as fast or easy answers as some would make you want to believe.
i disagree. There's no reason NOT to use D-log every single time. I don't think doing minor color correction is "special"..... its a mandatory part of the process. And you don't have to use a LUT to tweak the color, exponentially. This isn't about eyes seeing quality difference, its about allowing yourself the greatest possible freedom during color correction.

Possibly unrelated.. but.. what part of the drone is responsible for time stamping the files on the sd card. Lets say you have zero sats and you take a picture.. how does the drone time stamp the file?
Biggest Biggest Mistake: Flying in Sport Mode. Obstacle Avoidance is turned off so watch it. Otherwise you may encounter a "Rapid Unscheduled Dissassembly" event.
Second Biggest Biggest Mistake: Drone Flare when flying in Sport Mode. Don't attempt returning to home in Sport Mode then stopping right when it gets to you. Yikes it will hit whatever is behind you. Trees, a person walking on a trail, etc.
Flying with an obstruction above your head... Street Lamp, Tree, Power Lines, etc. Move out to a clear area.
Flying near a high powered Power Line or Transformer station.

First, great vid. I have a problem that you might not have come across. My Mavic 3 Classic will only record for 3:02 and stop and start a new new from that point. That cycle continues thru out the mission. No one can tell me why. I've changed SD cards. I use SanDisk extreme. Anywhere from 64gb and up. I've reformatted to SD cards and drone. I've checked settings and biting about video length. Can you tell me is it the drone or user error? How long are you able to record a vid on your M3C?

I've about 9 months left on my dji care refresh for my mini 2. Can you tell me if I can transfer this from mini 2 to m3 classic and pay the difference or do I have to get a brand new 12 month pack for m3? Also as this is classed as c1 but can fly under a1 like the mini 2 will I have to register my m3 classic with the caa again or can I transfer that too from mini 2 to m3 classic.. Thanks 👍
What each battery has to have its own firmware update?!
Not all the time, but sometimes the batteries get updated with the firmware also!

Are you aware of how the new CAA rules on drones (EU C1 classification not accepted in same was as EU) affect Mavic 3 Classic use in NI? Do the new UK CAA rules apply or does the NI protocol, which maintains alignment with EU rules in NI allow us to avoid this?

maybe should not name it as 12 mistakes make by mavic classic and the classis just came out .. I dont think there are much mistakes yet been made by the classic .. LOL . .maybe you should just in general as over all mistake with most of drones ... but not classic LOL cause seems that does not apply to all drones in this case ..
My biggest mistake was to put your stick’s settings from the previous video and crash it the very first time since I bought it more than 6 months ago

@@TheDroneCreative New controls seem introduced some inertia, the drone kept on moving after I released the stick and it went into the bush in my garden. The good thing is that the altitude was just 0.6 m, the props cut off automatically and the drone rolled gently on the ground and it happened on my property. Your controls are good for smooth video but not that good for precise flying. But I keep on trying to adjust, results are better😀
Happy to hear the drone is ok 😀 Yeah, that’s the “smoothness” settings. It adds a “slow down” when you let go of the stick or gimbal to keep things smooth, but as you mention it will make things a little less precise. It’s all about finding the setup that works for you. I am all thumbs so find a precise setup makes my footage jittery 😂
DJI need to put more internal storage 8g is useless at least 16g would be better
1 big mistake is buying the classic with C1 lol

My question would be is...🤔...why would a new drone pilot go out and buy a three thousand dollar 💵 drone....and then crash it and not even knowing how to fly the dang thing....🤷♂️

1. I was hand landing my Mavic 3 Classic drone. Left stick pulled down but to one side which led to propellers stationarized but residual yaw which flicked drone out of my hand & smashed the top LHS Obstacle Avoidance Sensor.
2. If the drone loses signal & goes into Attitude mode it has no GPS lock only a barometric one that controls height. The drone has high inertia & is very difficult to control. Apparently metal objects can interfere with the EM wave signal of the drone to controller.

Great tips. Didn't realize settings don't carry over from video mode to mastershots. Could have used that info this past Saturday.
Don't worry, we all have been caught out by that at some stage. I still occasionally get caught out by it if it resets due to a firmware update. Always worth checking!
