    Hi there,
    I enjoyed your video.
I am looking at a HD 883 iron with sidecar from Billau motorcycles.
How was your experience with them, and how do you find riding the sidecar outfit - I was told not to buy a sidecar outfit without a leading link front end.
How do you find the handling with the standard fork setup?
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Mark

Hi Mark, I found the experience from them really good, very nice dealers! I don’t ride the bike hard but to be honest, it’s fine! I don’t know how it would be better being honest! Right hand cornering is grand, left hand just slow it down a bit

I have an 883 with a sidecar and the same raked forks as Motoscotty. With standard suspension at the front the steering can feel heavy especially with a load in the chair. Leading links tend to move the front wheel forward a couple of inches which helps however the raked yokes do the same for less cost. One other thing worth mentioning is that the standard 888 with a Hedingham SS chair pulled me and my wife with some luggage up and over some Welsh mountain passes without missing a beat.

Hi Scotty I believe that you know of me but I don't think that we have ever met. It was me who put your outfit together For Hazel. I have a 1200 Superlow solo and an 883 Superlow with a Hedingham SS sidecar. There are a few things that you talk about on your video that I could answer and I could also probably give you some tips as well. I live not too far (Mauchline) If you would like to talk you can get my number from Kevin. P.S. if you haven't found out yet if you fill the tank you should be able to get 130 miles or so before the fuel warning light comes on. If you do run out you can add fuel from a can and restart the bike without having to bleed the system. The bike has two trip meters I always reset mine when I fill up and look to refuel at 100 miles.

We need to get a catch up and talk bikes! What a small world as you are less than 10 miles away!

Stupid question - isn’t the Velorex to light for the Sportster?
Used to own a Jawa 350 with a Velorex and even there the sidecar could have been heavier and built a bit stronger (the axle is quite a week point of it…)

It seems to perform absolutely fine for me! It doesn’t do huge mileage and only gets out of the garage if there is someone going to be in it!

The Velorex fitted to his Sportster is fairly new 2016 I think and as such is much heavier than the ones that used to be fitted to the 350 Jawa. Having said that I have ridden this outfit and I can say that the chair is very easy to lift and not as stable as my Sportster Hedingham SS outfit.
