- This iPhone X came in for Data Recovery. It is not smashed or wet. It just died out of nowhere. And I need to fix it enough to turn it on, so I can recover all the pics, videos, contacts, texts & notes out of it.

So we walk through step by step, how to diagnose the issue using the USB Meter, DC Power Supply & Multimeter to find that we have a PP_VDD_BOOST short.
So how do we fix this phone when it has a short to ground?
Why does the Boost IC get hot?
How do we use the Thermal Camera to find the short?
How do we measure for a short capacitor?
This is all covered in this video.

What did you learn from this video? 👇👇👇
I learned that vdd main, vdd batt, vpc main are the top 3 culprits of an iPhone not booting up.
you are the person who share real skill information technique thanks from you
that is a nice feature of the thermal camera that you got where it darkens out
Agreed!
Nicely done. You could fix the temperature range in the software to see the small chip too.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, skill and experience😊.
My pleasure 🙌
Thanks boss good job
Thank you very much!

@@VCCBoardRepairs Your videos are really helping me. I knew some but like CPU swaps and such, cant wait to get to them. Next payday going to buy that Micro solder machine, so thanks again for that. learning a lot from you my brother.
Nice work, do you ever fit a new capacitor or leave it as is etc
I never replace it
Like your video I hope to see your video more
Great! Make sure to subscribe. I post a new video every week
It looks like clean phone after boot.. Except messages badge.
What messages badge?
@@VCCBoardRepairs I mean 453 incoming messages, except it it looks like new phone with downloading apps. But than I realized - you run backup which is reason for app looks like downloading..
So only my misunderstanding :)
Btw cool work 👍
Ah yes. I got worried too. But I checked off camera and for sure customer had data on there
Can you please teach us ur thermal camera settings pls😢
I have no special settings. The Seek Compact Pro just works as you see it
Thank you Jesse for another useful video! I am wondering why on iPhone 12 and above you should always reball the sandwich? Can’t we just carefully separate the board and that resolder it, leaving the factory solder? Yes, it takes higher temperatures but anyway. Repairing Apple devices is my hobby, I am a self-teaching guy. And I always wonder why iPhone 12+ boards should be reballed 🤔 Would be awesome if you share your experience about this. Thank you
It's not easy to reflow the sandwich solder balls when they're high temp solder
@@VCCBoardRepairs thank you! So it can cause cold solder joins, clear
Nice video. Thank you!
You just upload iTunes data from this phone on the cloud for the customer? If my customer want data (contacts, photos, whatsapp messages,...) what should I do? Thank you
I extract the data with Jihosoft iTunes Backup Extractor
@@VCCBoardRepairs thank you! And what about samsung, huawei, xiaomi? Btw I your fan of your first video on youtube!💪 Thanks to you I do microsoldering level
great job fromm vcc board repair please how can i get DT880
You cannot. Doesn't exist no more
how do you give the customer there data ,do you put it on a USB stick?
I put it on a USB stick
Why dont you just use the short killer
Because that tool is too risky to use & you should just learn how to properly fix it
