does anyone know why the impala body was the least popular of the bunch? it’s a sedan and all. But I’ve never really seen builds with it. for mine I’ve managed to fix a ebrake issue and put in a column handbrake and put small spares on the back and slide it around on a drift track. Granted it’s not easy and mine is only an ls. But the chassis has potential for drift builds, drag builds, heck even awd if your looking that route. pushed to the limits racing converted his with a corvette underbody and engine and made a w body that ran 9 second 1/4 miles the body is actually pretty well balanced even with stock suspension it doesn’t like to roll over to much and its weight helps it slide around corners fairly easily.
@@FreakashoniBrother, no one's gonna drift a FWD boat with a 4 speed slush box 😂. The reason that gen Impala you're probably talking about isn't popular is cause it had an LS4 instead of a 3800 SC. Not to mention they're the most depressing of the bunch inside and out, and the W bodies aren't that great of a platform to begin with. You buy a W body for the 3800 SC, not for the car itself lol. Also putting a "corvette underbody" is literally a body-swap of a W Body car on a corvette, but there's literally no W body there, it's just a corvette that looks like one 😂
@@rinkkalex I’m talking about from 2000-2005 😂😂😂 do you even know what gen I’m talking about? That didn’t have the v8 from factory it hat the 3800, even if it isn’t popular doesn’t mean it doesn’t have potential, did you look up pushed to the limits racing? He literally in a sense “bolted in a 9 inch rear end and put an ls in place for the 3800 and it drove just fine.. it’s a great body in theory for modifying just as the Monte Carlo is from the same years
@@Freakashoni Trust me he didn't just bolt it, try it yourself you'll have to re-engineer the whole car for lack of a better word. These are not performance platforms even though they've had performance oriented cars on this platforms, they're made to take grandma from the shop and back.
They helped me with my Monte SS build. I originally bought the car from them. It had a diamond piston build and was a high 11s low 12s car. Blew that motor and they helped me with a J E piston build. Car is in my profile pic.
Good to see this car and platform getting constant improvements. Back in 2014-15 I had a '99 gtp with a S1X cam, Gen V blower, FSIC and a 2 gallon ice box in the trunk with a 2.8 pulley on E85. It MOVED! Unfortunately, the trans started slipping only a few months after i had already replaced it with an HD version with the beefier setup. I was also dealing with electrical gremlins that would completely shut the car off while driving on the highway. That was the moment i realized i was done with it and was time to move on since i needed a reliable car to commute in. Sold it for cheap to a buddy of mine. Still miss that whine! And looks on peoples faces! That'll never get old!
There's only one thing that's inaccurate. I became #1 highest HP in 2016. I had the XPZ cam, Aluminum heads and I had them ported. Btw it started out as stock L36 as well. Bought the supercharger kit when it first came out, short stack intercooler. 93 octane on snow performance water meth injection. Built transmission on 7/8 chain. It was 482WHP, when I got the numbers. I totalled it going to buy tires in the rain in 2018. I tore it completely down and I have the parts in my shed thinking about coming back but I might be going turbo this time around so I don't know what I'm going to with my headers.
Tr6 is still a pretty warm plug for the power but I suppose the aluminum head helps pull the heat out quicker too, that and the 160 stat bringing overall temps down. A little icebox for the intercooler with a fuel cooler passing through the icebox as well usually does wondrous things. Cold fuel makes a surprising difference. Could also add nitromethane to the fuel since it's e98 but you're already tapped on injector and that would compound the issue. Such a cool thoughtful build. There are some other fuel tricks that could be done, the old formula 1 pre standardized fuel concoctions have merit, adding a touch of diesel to their already crazy fuel is counterintuitive with its stupid low octane but slowing down combustion making the power pulses last longer per stroke is a neat concept proved out in f1. I look forward to seeing this m90 3800 further progress.
Are the Zzp coilovers lighter than the bc racing coilovers? Weight savings I measured when installing BC racing coilovers vs zzp lowering springs/excel G struts from my notes: Fronts: 13.72lb lighter Rears: 6.80lb lighter.
Have y'all done any park ave ultra builds? Im looking at either a PAU or a 2012 Impala 3.6 next. I definitely want something that'll run low 14s in the quarter or as fast as my 09 cobalt ss.
Ima have to watch the video again but did you mentioned anything about tuning the ecm? Which tune does it have ? And the transmission input shaft and hd flywheel I feel maybe touch base on the transmission a bit more was it a full rebuild ? Just curious how is that transmission holding up . The 4t65e . Ever considered twin charging these? Just found out what the gm 3800 is yesterday and have been obsessing over them. Hopefully going to trade my cbr900rr for an 07 gt tomorrow!
Do you guys work on customer cars. I’m fully built zzp rods, pistons, aluminum heads, ported manifold, ported blower, North Star, cam, 1.6 rockers, ic, and can not get it running right. In Fiero. I’m in New York. Can’t find anyone to help. At a loss car just sitting in driveway. Very frustrated. I will trailer it anywhere. Please help.
We absolutely do, we have a full service bay and do customer builds all year. Reach out to Service@zzperformance.com and Bo can get you a quote and get you scheduled.
e98 as in ignite? if so the "streetcar" status is iffy. we all know what that fuel is cappable of compared to pump e id like to see what the cars doin on pump/e not race fuel.
Not Ignite. There's a local company in Michigan who will sell anyone E98 in different volumes. We purchase it 255 gallons at a time, but they sell it in lower quantities as well.
ZZP is the only aftermarket performance vendor that I completely trust for my GTP needs 🏁

Man what a throwback!!! Miss the good old GP days! Good to see the car again! I was AnthonyGP on ClubGP back in the 2000s.
Getting ready for my m90 Monte Carlo build and ZZP is my absolute go to. been following Zooms GP for awhile now. Very impressive

I find myself starting it up for a drive around the block every week or so, still love it... Good luck getting to 500whp!
Totally using this as inspiration for my Bonneville build
I had a N/A 97 "rental" GP and did lots of track time with it after putting your stage 2 cam in. Loved that motor combo.

Can't wait for more equalizer vs headers testing. Would love to see it tested on lower horsepower build as well.
Good info on Zooms car!

Cant wait for the drop on the new timing chain Tensioner for double chain.
Nasty gtp love it da boosted ones are crazy 🤯
I don't know why, but the styling of these cars remind me of Trailer Parks, Nascar, and Broken Families. Awesome car though

Yeeees, need moar of dem V6 Buicks!!! 👏🏻🗿

you forgot to show the n2o setup!

I have never seen a ZZP aluminum head for sale anywhere 8:50

I wonder if you'd be able to get close to 500hp with a manual transmission swap 🤔
What kind of 60 foot times are you getting with that gear
What about transmission work?
What chain is in the trans ?
Supercore for lsj?
We actually experimented with bolt on intercooler plates to the stock LSJ manifold back in the day, no positive gains to be found.
What tune is it on? I didn’t catch that
Custom tune from Bo. He's our 3800 tuner and can dial you in just like Zoom's car with HPTuners and a 1.0 email file.

600 whp turbo anyone?
Why does it only make 500hp
