My kiln is outside in Arizona and I can’t fire in in July/Aug because the heat will turn off the electronics.... Cold weather is so foreign to me! Never knew this could happen! I have learned so much from you. Thank you!
I am surprised you can turn your kiln on with the lid open ,there should be an interlock switch fitted that cuts the power with the lid open. I say this not as a safety nazi or pedant but your kiln looks like those I have at work ,where the elements are open . only takes a mistake and if you brush against it that`s the end of these videos. Since I have just found you I would hate to lose you . On a lighter note I would like to say how much I am enjoying your stuff and when all this lockdown is over would like to come down and take a class or two.
@@JaneScottCeramics I`m making an early Anglo Saxon cremation urn . No pressure but I would be honoured if you used it. I`m trying to find the Old English for " She did not fit an interlock" Probably apply the inscription with a stain derived from berries and plant extracts, but I`m really struggling with an appropriate glaze or fixing. Any ideas , what did people do before Potclays.?

That's brilliant. Thank you! I've had this exact problem lately.
Brilliant!! Thanks for this
Luckily I don't live where it gets that cold. 🌵
