You are such a natural. I love your videos. Could you please post a pic once this has been fired? Beautiful combination. Would never have thought to do something like this! ❤️
Hi Nikki, Thank you for your kind comment - I will show you the results if I remember (!) in the next vid or post it on Instagram... Happy Potting! And Happy Christmas ❤️
Ooooo!! I love this technique so much, and again, loving your videos. I always laugh and thoroughly enjoy it, plus you’re work is extraordinary. Love it, thank you!!
Love your work . I would love to see some of these pieces finished after glaze firing. You have a great studio and are very good at explaining what you do. Thankyou from an Australian potter.
You’re an inspiration! I love your videos and techniques. Will you post a pic of the finished piece? I’d love to see it!!! Merry Christmas from California!
Hi there, I will be back - I went to Spain in June and decided to completely change my life - I’m writing this from an empty house as Im moving house and studio tomorrow… I have been super busy but the new studio is awesome and so it will be worth the wait… 😁 hang on in there ❤️
Thanks for your awesome videos! I use a shop's kiln in the area to fire my pots, just starting out, so how would I know whether your underglazes are safe for her kiln? Ask the shop owner what cone they fire to? And will underglaze stick to the kiln? I see you paint it all over so I assume it is kiln shelf safe? Thanks much!
Underglaze wont stick to kiln shelves at earthenware temperatures and rarely at stoneware temperatures but if you are firing to high temps then best to pop it on a stilt. Just in case. Some colours - particularly purples, do melt a bit more…
Hello! Love your videos and teaching style :) I'm just starting out and wondering if adding clear glaze to the underglazes would then make it food safe after a mid fire kiln? I've read that underglazes can only cope with a low temp, so I guess another question is - does adding a clear glaze on top also protect the underglaze in a mid fire kiln session? Thank you so much !
Hi Laura, most underglazes these days are food safe... The underglaze i sell certainly is! I think we are having a zoom one to one teaching session soon? I will explain it all then - i look forward to meeting you through the screen 😍
Just lovely, thank you. You explain it all so well. May I ask what bran of brushes you are using to apply the glaze. They seem so “moppy” ? ❤️ I subscribed and I’m looking forward to learning more from you. Thanks again.
Hi Jane wondering how do you underglaze writing on a piece and keep it that colour. I've tried a couple of pieces and can't figure how to keep the colour there. Without having it mess the colour on top and having the top colour cover what I've already done
Mmmmm, tricky to advise without seeing the piece…. Im a bit confused 🤣 maybe put the writing on TOP of the base colour…. So hard to advise you from afar like this…. Test test test 👍🏼
Hello there, I’m very well but am in the middle of moving house and studio so have been super super busy. I will be back though in a new improved premises. 😁

HI - I'm going to try this out in class next week in a greek urn I've made! Would love to see how the pot in the video turned out?
This is of course, as always a great technique!! We call this antiquing. Fun! Thank you.

Is this piece greenware or bisque?
If I wanted to put some texture on it. Pin holes, scratches etc. When would I do that
Texture can only happen when the clay is soft or leather hard 👍🏼
It sounds like you put black slip on, bisque fired, then added underglazes. Is that so it doesn't rub the black off too?
Yes indeed. 👍🏼

I use nice soft floppy Hake brushes - i sell them on my website ❤️
Thank you
Your website itself is not listed in the description. FYI
Can you show us how the bowl comes out after you have burned it?
Mmm yes, i should really... it came out soooo nice!! Think i posted it on my instagram account somewhere... 🤔
Bonjour C'est dommage qu'il n'y a pas de sous titres ! En anglais par exemple !
Merci et bravo
Good point… I must try and make this happen when I make some more videos…
Is this earthenware? Or stoneware?
Earthenware 👍🏼
Hello just learning pottery and wondering do you have to fire after you underglaze or can you glaze over top of under glaze and then fire???
Just whack the glaze over the top and then fire it 👍🏼
Awesome thanks
