I liked how Clark didn't say he was going to catch Jordan even though in the end he still did. Clark just knows that if he says it out loud then Jordan would constantly hesitate because he knows if he fails then Clark would just save him. Jordan had to learn to take a leap of faith and have the confidence in himself to fly on his own without Clark's help because 1 day Clark won't be there to save Jordan and Clark knows that as a parent that he needs to teach Jordan how to handle things by himself. Like a parent lying to their children about riding and balancing on a bike saying that they won't let go, before the child looks back and realizes that they're riding on their own after their parents let go a long time ago.

A child can only pedal so fast while a parent keeps their hand on the bike, but it's when they finally let go that a child can truly ride freely with faster speeds. If Clark had said out loud that he would've caught Jordan, it would've made him more cautious and not fly as fast or as high let alone trust himself enough to fully fly on his own because he would've had to stay close to Clark if he didn't want to fall.

At first I didn’t like this version of Superman but as I kept progressing watching more of the show I like how he is creative and is doing an awesome job.
This is a great series. Its great there is finally a Superman series that deals with family. We really need more stories about families and how families can solve problems. This is more than just a family like Superman and Lois but all families. The most important foundation in this country is families and true core of families is our faith in God. I do hope this show goes on and has many seasons. I also hope that there are more shows that truly help us and give a good example in how we deal with our problems and solve them.

The Kesel run may be a Star Wars reference, but given it's a Superman show, it's highly likely also a reference to Karl Kesel. He's a legendary inker at DC comics and co-created Kon-El Superboy from Reign of the Supermen. My disdain at you all who didn't think about this matches Clark's to Jordan.
... I certainly know who Karl Kesel is (having bought most of his stuff when it originally ran), but my disdain to you, Comic Book Guy, who think there are "legendary inkers" and that Kesel--although a fine artist--is one of them.
