And all the businesses that were damaged know who to sue.
Plus all the people who were "wronged" by Superman.
I think on Lois and Clark they did an episode where Superman got sued for saving someone. They did this on the Incredibles, too, but it would get much worse if people knew the actual identity.
Plus all the psychos that would want to take out the friend or loved one of Superman fir some cred. Even Superman can't protect every person he loves 24/7.

Since Superman doesn't wear a mask, it wouldn't occur to people that he has a "secret identity". When he's not around, they'd just assume he's somewhere else doing Superman stuff. That was John Byrne's approach and it makes the most sense.

Tyler portrays Clark Kent very well and he feels exactly the opposite of Cavil. He is more down to earth, friendlier, approachable, and very human. It's basically like comparing apples to oranges.

Clark Kent's decision to come clean-not just to the world but also to his hometown, Smallville-was clearly a difficult choice, but it feels so true to his character. I had my reservations for Tyler Hoechlin when the casting was first revealed. I first saw him in teen wolf as Derek Hale. I couldn't see him as the Man of steel. BOY WAS I WRONG! Hands down the best live action portrayal of superman by a mile. I love Superman and Lois so much. The writing is fantastic and normally in Superman fiction we see Superman the hero, figting existential threats or larger than life characters. He still does this in this show but we also got to see him as a dad, and tackling problems he can't solve with his super powers. The effects being Superman has on his family. It made him SO RELATABLE. I work all the time and spend a lot of time away from home as well and seeing Clark face that aspect of life really resonated with me. I have to say, this is one of the, if not THE best show on the CW. I hate that there are other shows with substantially lower qualities that get 6-10 seasons and this absolute gem in the rough gets cancelled 4 seasons in, presumably because of the direction DC is going with their movies. It's a shame. I'd have loved to see where the boys develop now that they both got their powers and how Lois and Clark cope with that. So much potential, down the drain.

This is such an amazing development. Despite the potential dangers that would come to him and his loved ones, he revealed his identity to the world to connect with humanity on a more personal level. It falls in line with Clark’s character about truth as a concept. Now Superman truly aligns his actions with his values of truth and justice. Even though there will be some negative repercussions, there can still be positive ones as well.

The dangers always come anyway, but his sons are super too ... and Lois will be OK, because she's protected not by Clark but her two sons. I don't know how Smallville and humanity would react in the long run. In Lois and Clark there was a Superman in an alternative universe that was exposed as Clark Kent, very early in his career. I always wanted more stories about that character, his life was far more tragic than most Superman story arcs.

They also become potential leverage for someone else to use if they singularly found out. So sometimes the best thing to do is to spill the beans. It means no more weight. The figurative "loaded gun" of unwanted exposure has been emptied. Managing an exposed truth is much better than losing control of a hidden one.

Why do so many people like the idea of Superman revealing his identity. It's one of the worst things you can do when you are such a powerful individual. Now every villain has a clear target, also you throw away the option of ever having a normal life.

This is by far the most "human" Superman has ever been portrayed and I loved this incarnation, gonna miss it.

The part when he said “I no longer have to hide a huge part of myself” hit me. I’m so happy this version of Superman can just be Clark Kent

My god, I never knew Clark Kent is Superman, that glasses sure fooled me

Yes the glasses is not much of a disguise. My thing would be if Zatanna had place a spell on something that Superman or Wonder Woman or Supergirl wore like the glasses or a watch or even a necklace that when he wore it he was Clark and when he took it off was Superman or the other way around.

This is the best superman serie followed by Smallville. Great episode. I really like the personality added to this character. Thank you...
