Lex for a moment shows fear and is wondering if there is more to Superman that I don't know...he looks at the sun in the distance. Fade to black.
i'm reminded of a Batman elseworlds i read recently that answered the question of "what would happen if the riddler got over his fixation on riddles and games?" turns out..he turns into a certifiable nightmare. noone can go NEAR him without him anticipating it and having some machiavellian plan in place to make thier life hell. and he's smart enough to figure out ANYONE"S secret identity. batman can't touch him becuase Riddler proves he can just kill people at random and there's no way to stop him short of killing him..which Batman has sworn never to do. this goes on for some time, with the last pages of the book featuring Riddler lifing it up in a penhouse apartment, listening in on a cnversation between Jim Gordon and Batman becasue it amuses him to do so. batman tells jim he was wrong to assume that riddler would never change and evolve. and Riddler made the same mistake about Batman...he assumed his mercy was infinite. He ALSO assumed he was listening to live audio instead of a prerecorded message. the last page of the issue has the recording saying "riddle me this Edward: Though we meet but once, you will know me forever after. What am I?" Nygma looks up and sees batman standing behind him...the last few panels are simply black.
@@deinonychus1948 it's an elseworlds and that was the end of the story, but yeah. what's interesting is this isn't the first(or at least the only, since i'm unsure of chronology) story where it isn't the joker, but RIDDLER that pushes batman to break his "no kill" rule. remember "the war of jokes and riddles" storyline? Joker loses his since of humor and stops laughing, though he's still homicidal. Riddler goes to war with him over who gets to rule Gotham, leading to hundreds of deaths. batman is being pushed to his limits keeping up with the mayhem and trying to find a way to end it. We find out at the climax that the entire war was a joke Riddler was playing for Joker's benefit to get him to laugh again, including murdering Kite Man's only son(and let's be clear, the son was a minor, and likely not the only minor fatality in the war) to give him the motivation to "save the day", with the notion of the city being saved by Kite Man as the punchline. Riddler explains ALL of this in front of batman and joker, FURIOUS that noone is laughing. batman straight up snaps and tries to shank Riddler. He's stopped..by Joker, intercepting the knife with his own hand. at THAT...Joker gets his since of humor back.
I'd have simply crimped sealed the door and flown the truck to the dark side of the moon. No more Lex. No more threats to the family. Stupid games. Stupid prizes.
It's part of what makes him worthy of that name. "Oh, you took my corpse from a parallel world, mutated it into a monster, had that monster kill me, then threatened my family while I was dead? Okay, let's see if we can't talk this one through" Meanwhile in another universe, Zod is Superman and he's just skinning Lex alive and then rewinding time to keep doing it 😂😂😂
maybe all the Lex’s in all universes outta to meet Zod. I’m sure that’ll give him SOME perspective and help him find a way to leave superman the hell alone.
This is what I dont get about Superman. The Justice Lord and Injustice Supermen are the only ones that get what could and should be done with men like Lurhor
The concept of Superman is that he does what is right, to not resort to violence, to not appoint himself judge, jury and executioner because one with immense power and wisdom has to act with reason instead of aggression. It’s easier to take a life than to protect it. Superman is super not because of his powers, but his ability to do what is right, to practice restrain, to see the best in people, and to use his powers for good.
God they get Superman so perfect in this series!!! If James Gunn has half a brain, he will build up the DCU to a Crisis Story, then bring back Henry, and Tyler.
Zap, shot into space, buried under Everest, end of show. Sometimes, Homelander is exactly what the rest of us would be as a super. He must have Super-Patience and Super-Empathy. He doesn't want to have to resort to something final. But he's not Batman, he will fix you if he needs to. I think most of us would.
Lex is sooo very lucky I'm not Superman. I would have taken Lex to the moon and left him to die. It never would have gotten to the point where he could create Doomsday.
I don't get it, Lex has engaged in terroristic threats to Clark and his family. That's a crime. Not only that, but he had a military official kidnapped and ordered their execution, even if it failed. I get that they want the Kents to solve the Lex problem themselves somehow, but the dude should be back behind bars. I'm also sure that creating Doomsday has to result in many violations of various laws including kidnapping, torture, conspiracy to commit murder (even if Superman was revived he was still at one point dead), etc. At this point, Clark has more than enough reason to see Lex behind bars. Superman could so easily just follow Lex around for a while, recording video and audio from various angles without even being seen if he wanted to, gather the evidence that he needed to make sure Luthor never got out. But...I suppose that would make for a boring show. It still doesn't help that this show feels so contrived though.
And here I thought Clark had the balls of steel... You a bold soul to tell Cal 'El that his time is running out. Meanwhile treating his family, I'll say nice words at your funeral.
Loved this scene . It shows the differences between Superman and Lex . While Superman is an alien with godlike power , at heart, he is a good person, and one of his biggest strengths and weaknesses is his empathy and mercy . He knows asking Luthor to stop is a lost cause , but he gives him the benefit of the doubt and a chance to walk away , unfortunately Luthor's hatred and need for revenge mean it'll never happen.
Nice to see Superman and Lex Luthor confront each other. Unfortunately, Lex does once again show that he knows that Clark is Superman. I'm glad that Superman has the compassion and humanity to try to reason with Lex, but Lex is too blinded by his anger to see reason.
In any reasonably realistic world, Lex would suddenly disappear, and the problems he was causing would disappear with him. This would happen with the Joker as well. A hero's indulgence with such personalities would mean that innocent people would die. Knowing this simple fact leaves the hero, regardless of who he is, with no choice.
Whatever happens after this, at least Clark can say he tried. True, Lex was innocent-of THAT crime. As opposed to how many others he WAS guilty of? I guess I’m not overly noble-but I would have left him in jail. Or better yet, on the side of that road they’re standing in-in a shallow grave. This man created a monster out of a man who was in a bad state of mind, and in no shape or form wanted what happened to him , and he sent that monster to kill you-and he succeeded. This man has threatened you and your family repeatedly-and he wants to destroy your wife especially, a wife fighting illness and who has watched her father die in front of her by the same monster that killed you. And even after all that-you’re still trying to do the right thing? Clark Kent is a damn sight of a better man than me.
To me I get this feeling that lex will end up fighting alongside him idk what it is … but if braniac comes into play as the final boss I could see a situation where lex to save his daughter sides with Superman
For Context, at this point Lex is still in control of Doomsday who has already killed Clark once and General Lane. Clark is not at 100% yet and even if he was he’s not confident he can defeat Doomsday as he already failed the first time. So in this clip he’s not just “being nice” this is a strategic move to avoid anymore bloodshed and hoping to appeal to whatever humanity Lex has left.
He should have just said "Look Lex, I'm the one you want! Iif you cannot show me mercy, at least show my family mercy, leave Smallville out of this... heck, we can have this fight in the middle of Death Valley for all I care, but I want to make this OUR fight, leave everyone else out of it" Then again, Lex probably would've refused those terms regardless
I thought his Lex Luthor was What's His Name from 2 ½ Men and not this stud. He sorta looks more like a rough and tough country biker gang version of Lex Luthor or something lol.
"Enjoy the time you have left...it's r-" "Hard to talk when I'm lasering your brain isn't it? Whoops, you forgot I can do that didn't you? Now I'm gonna grab you, and your truck, fly them into space and hurl them into the sun, and no one will ever know this happened.
If Superman apologized to Lex and dhowed this kind of compassion at the beginning this could have all been avoided now Lex is too consumed with revenge to reason with him also Superman had a chance to take out Lex right then and there he should have done it

Lex for a moment shows fear and is wondering if there is more to Superman that I don't know...he looks at the sun in the distance. Fade to black.
And this is why some many of us are not Supes. Bc most of us would've ended Lex right there
realisticaly yes, but for plot hes not aloud to gotta farm the drama for the audience they cannot see
@@peteramaranth85no its because clark doesn't kill, its not for the plot
@@idkidk503he constantly kills, he said he killed Doomsday this very episode
@@ninjanibba4259 me when I make shit up. He's never killed anyone except Doomsday. "Constantly" my ass.
@@idkidk503 the naivety of you thinking Superman never kills is just incredible
i'm reminded of a Batman elseworlds i read recently that answered the question of "what would happen if the riddler got over his fixation on riddles and games?" turns out..he turns into a certifiable nightmare. noone can go NEAR him without him anticipating it and having some machiavellian plan in place to make thier life hell. and he's smart enough to figure out ANYONE"S secret identity. batman can't touch him becuase Riddler proves he can just kill people at random and there's no way to stop him short of killing him..which Batman has sworn never to do. this goes on for some time, with the last pages of the book featuring Riddler lifing it up in a penhouse apartment, listening in on a cnversation between Jim Gordon and Batman becasue it amuses him to do so. batman tells jim he was wrong to assume that riddler would never change and evolve. and Riddler made the same mistake about Batman...he assumed his mercy was infinite. He ALSO assumed he was listening to live audio instead of a prerecorded message. the last page of the issue has the recording saying "riddle me this Edward: Though we meet but once, you will know me forever after. What am I?" Nygma looks up and sees batman standing behind him...the last few panels are simply black.
I'm guessing the answer to the riddle is Death?
A true father at that point would toss Lex and his truck into deep space.
That's what a dumb father would do.
Be strong enough to be gentle
He could just send a heat ray through Lex's skull from 2 mi up. No cameras or evidence that way.
It'd at least toss his truck into space and let him walk or call a taxi
what i dislike about this version of superman is that everytime i look at him, i see a werewolf
Yeah well no move on
Lol i hate this Maga version of Lex luthor
I see Sepiroth
See, I never watched Teen Wolf, so this was literally my introduction to Tyler Hoechlin.
This is such a powerful scene. God, this gave me chills. I even got thoughts of Zod while they both talked. Amazing strong acting!
I'd have simply crimped sealed the door and flown the truck to the dark side of the moon. No more Lex. No more threats to the family. Stupid games. Stupid prizes.
How Superman restrains himself from obliterating a lesser being beats me. lex would of been hurled into the void of outer space after what he's done
It's part of what makes him worthy of that name.
"Oh, you took my corpse from a parallel world, mutated it into a monster, had that monster kill me, then threatened my family while I was dead? Okay, let's see if we can't talk this one through"
Meanwhile in another universe, Zod is Superman and he's just skinning Lex alive and then rewinding time to keep doing it 😂😂😂
maybe all the Lex’s in all universes outta to meet Zod. I’m sure that’ll give him SOME perspective and help him find a way to leave superman the hell alone.
@@Fictioncrazed I mean, it'd be pretty easy for him to leave Superman alone....cause he'd definitely be dead 😂😂😂
I want to see that fxkr doing that to The Homelander😂
that would be dvmb... because the power house of lex would blast lois, jonathan, and jordan. lol
2:40 oh god that fro
This is what I dont get about Superman. The Justice Lord and Injustice Supermen are the only ones that get what could and should be done with men like Lurhor
The concept of Superman is that he does what is right, to not resort to violence, to not appoint himself judge, jury and executioner because one with immense power and wisdom has to act with reason instead of aggression. It’s easier to take a life than to protect it.
Superman is super not because of his powers, but his ability to do what is right, to practice restrain, to see the best in people, and to use his powers for good.
"While those in power continue to talk, people continue to die" -00 Gundam.
This guy thought to himself, what if Nic Nolte played Lex Luthor? And so he did just that and I love it.
Luthor is smart, but entirely irrational when it comes to Supes
*I want superman to fight doomsday at full power during day time absorbing sunrays and using sundips*
Best live action Superman and it’s not close.
This is some good acting will have to check this series out.
Then you should consider watching better shows and movies
"This just in: Lex Luthor was found in orbit by the crew of the ISS."
I know we all wanted Supes to destroy Lex right on the spot. Just remember Doomsday is still out there.
I like this take on him
Lex is sooo very lucky I'm not Superman. I would have taken Lex to the moon and left him to die. It never would have gotten to the point where he could create Doomsday.
Good thing you're not Superman
😂😂😂😂
@@mfenix88
Yeah, good thing Superman leaves all these mad men running around.
I'm sure the families of the victims would agree with you.
Lmao dam dog 😂
you really think lex don't have a kryptonite on him?
Lex knows Superman. Lex knows Clark. Lex has never had to contend with Kal-El. It's time for that to change.
It's sad to see this show ending. I would love to see more of these two.
They made Lex look he runs a pawn shop....💀💀💀
He should've just taken Clark's offer here. Lex got absolutely clapped in the latest episode
Gonna have to fly him into the sun.
Superman is standing in the middle of the road so he and Lex Luther were talking.!!
Dude what?
He could turn his body into 1000 pieces with a non-effort flick. We all want him to
Like an elephant asking a flea not to hurt its family
And here I thought Clark had the balls of steel...
You a bold soul to tell Cal 'El that his time is running out. Meanwhile treating his family, I'll say nice words at your funeral.
This was an awesome lex. Great series
Interesting choice of casting for Lex.
His head is.. dolphin smooth.
"Keep it up, Lex, and I'm just going to toss you."
"Toss me? Where?"
"It won't make any difference."
"Best I can do is a bald Bull from BoB"
Clark "Hey Lex. Is your truck good in cold environments? Here. Let me fly you to the Antarctic."
Nice to see Superman and Lex Luthor confront each other. Unfortunately, Lex does once again show that he knows that Clark is Superman. I'm glad that Superman has the compassion and humanity to try to reason with Lex, but Lex is too blinded by his anger to see reason.
That is one terrible ass wig 😅😂😂
He's Lex Luther but not the one we know. The muiltvirse has a way of alining fates.
This is one of those times when I wish that Batman's existed on this world.
Now we're talking
You still say it the same way - astonishment mixed with a hint of dread, yet... with a hopeful finish.
I didnt know the President was in town
In any reasonably realistic world, Lex would suddenly disappear, and the problems he was causing would disappear with him.
This would happen with the Joker as well.
A hero's indulgence with such personalities would mean that innocent people would die. Knowing this simple fact leaves the hero, regardless of who he is, with no choice.
Even though I prefer Clark and Lex being childhood friends. I have to say I really like these two and their interesting dynamic in this show.
"Until we can move foward, the cycle must end" - Jean-Luc Picard
Love Lois but it is nice to finally just have superman and lex for a scene
Lex: Do you even know what it feels like to suffer?
Superman: I lost my entire planet... yes, I have an idea.
Worked out much better than the time he tried to reason with Lex Luthor through interpretive dance.
To me I get this feeling that lex will end up fighting alongside him idk what it is … but if braniac comes into play as the final boss I could see a situation where lex to save his daughter sides with Superman
Man, this Lex is leaps and bounds above the joke Jesse Eisenberg’s Luthor was.
“You never know, what’s gonna come through that door”
For Context, at this point Lex is still in control of Doomsday who has already killed Clark once and General Lane. Clark is not at 100% yet and even if he was he’s not confident he can defeat Doomsday as he already failed the first time. So in this clip he’s not just “being nice” this is a strategic move to avoid anymore bloodshed and hoping to appeal to whatever humanity Lex has left.
He should have just said "Look Lex, I'm the one you want! Iif you cannot show me mercy, at least show my family mercy, leave Smallville out of this... heck, we can have this fight in the middle of Death Valley for all I care, but I want to make this OUR fight, leave everyone else out of it"
Then again, Lex probably would've refused those terms regardless
This scene reminds me of when Barry talked to Thawne in Flash 9x10 trying to get him to stop his hatred.
Superman could have easily back handed lex into a coma. Lol
That landing looked rough…
I thought his Lex Luthor was What's His Name from 2 ½ Men and not this stud. He sorta looks more like a rough and tough country biker gang version of Lex Luthor or something lol.
STOP CANCELLING such GREAT SHOWS as they START TO GET AWESOME IN Thousands of Ways !!! For EVERYONE
Superman is really that guy cause right here he could squish him
this why I can't be superman, after what lex did, if I saw him Id take him and his truck into space and sing a little song
Do a Brightburn. Fly him a couple of miles up into the sky and "Oops!"
"Enjoy the time you have left...it's r-"
"Hard to talk when I'm lasering your brain isn't it? Whoops, you forgot I can do that didn't you? Now I'm gonna grab you, and your truck, fly them into space and hurl them into the sun, and no one will ever know this happened.
That’s absolute Lex
He needs an absolute SuperMan
At this point there is no recovering him Lex Luther will out to destroy Superman and his family and those who follow him
This dude playing Lex... Mighty Ducks 3. I remember him.
If Superman apologized to Lex and dhowed this kind of compassion at the beginning this could have all been avoided now Lex is too consumed with revenge to reason with him also Superman had a chance to take out Lex right then and there he should have done it
You're basically blaming victim for not kissing up to a psychopath and sociopath. Then you blame the victim for not committing murder and not ruining his and his family's life.
@CatsClaw44 And your acting like Superman is perfect the victim here is Lex he went to prison for a crime he didn't commit what he did in the past isn't relevant Lois assumed he was guilty based on his past she was wrong he wasn't in prison for a year he was in prison for 17' years clearly your looking at this through Superman fanboy goggles and I'm looking at both sides to the story
Oh Kal you poor Soul don't all them saying what I am thinking the Voice of God reaching them all. I AM YOU
Imagine this lex talking like that to homelander
The thing is, this Lex would absolutely take a knee to Homelander. He's only got this courage because Superman has ironclad morals.
I’m liking the darker suit this time round, assuming it’s a nod to the black suit when he returned from the dead
@@LondonCelt I have always liked the darker suit since Superman lll during the junkyard fight scene.
I still can't get over that superman was the kid from road to perdition

This is when Superman's greatest strength becomes his greatest weakness. It is like in real life, when evil people prey on the merciful.
Lex Luthor looks like a guy who builds motorcycles.
DAMMIT just laser Lex to ash. Go dark Superman. Think of all the lives you save...
Midwestern country bumpkin biker Lex. It's amazing how certain archetypes get such a bump to their image/intelligence.
Yeah let's people like you underestimate them
@damienchall8297 been here for 10 years. I have two friends like this. It's an interesting take on Lex. They even give him some clever scenes (i.e. The red street lights), but it's more than worth noting that the image of other groups don't get this much support. Not a woke thing. It's just an interesting observation.
To be fair, it pairs well with a Smallville Villain, especially putting Lex up as a small town block busting character.
@@MrTrincent people like this are degraded literally all the time it's the only group allowed to be shit on politically as far as I have seen. But people always think people who look like that are stupid
@damienchall8297 not where I'm at. I hear you though. This archetype out this way can range from trucker, mechanic, country boy, biker, and this sleeper Lex $#!+. I can add construction to the mix, which out of the aforementioned stereotype would catch the most heat (deservedly and undeservedly depending on the individual of course) despite building and maintaining the infrastructure that also makes the rest of our jobs possible.
It's so funny, it took a beatdown for superman to finally TALK with Lex Luthor. I guess even superheroes need their attitude readjusted from time to time.
This version of Lex looks like he's either going to be the head of a biker gang, or try and buy my used tv.... but not before he calls in a buddy who specializes in those kinds of things.
Bro how is this not the main Superman going forward? I fucking hate DC and James Gunn for this. Hoechlin makes Superman look like an Alpha Badass and the writing in this version of Superman’s story is top tier. It’s no wonder the DC franchise is tanking into the trash.
His Superman is hot diarrhea. I missed the Man of Steel, Henry Cavill😢
Looks like the "evil" Superman suit from Superman III.
I wonder how Homelander would handle Luthor…
Luthor would find a way to kill him
A lot of people think Homelander is way more powerful than he actually is. Lex is way too intelligent and resourceful to die to somebody like Homelander.
@@gagetaylor192 If homelander landed in front of lex like in the clip he would insta laser him, laugh and fly away lol

"They'd never look for your body on Saturn."
