True, but it’s also very human and much more realistic to have his motivation stem from that. Least of all we forget Luthor has always been an insecure attention seeker who blames Superman for his own problems. And you’re right about him having a grudge but that’s just it: He’s not justified in having the grudge he has, as in all things he puts on Superman. But he only does because he has to believe that Superman is flawed and he’s the superior man. The biker style I simply don’t mind that much when Cudlitz is giving an amazing performance. I like his casual style having a layer of menace to it. This Lex constantly wearing a suit would honestly take away some of his menace imo
It's part of what makes him worthy of that name. "Oh, you took my corpse from a parallel world, mutated it into a monster, had that monster kill me, then threatened my family while I was dead? Okay, let's see if we can't talk this one through" Meanwhile in another universe, Zod is Superman and he's just skinning Lex alive and then rewinding time to keep doing it 😂😂😂
maybe all the Lex’s in all universes outta to meet Zod. I’m sure that’ll give him SOME perspective and help him find a way to leave superman the hell alone.
Lex is sooo very lucky I'm not Superman. I would have taken Lex to the moon and left him to die. It never would have gotten to the point where he could create Doomsday.
The fact that he has the power to literally drop you into the sun and you still get to take a breath proves he is a better man. Especially after his family is being threatened.
If Superman apologized to Lex and dhowed this kind of compassion at the beginning this could have all been avoided now Lex is too consumed with revenge to reason with him also Superman had a chance to take out Lex right then and there he should have done it

I don't get it, Lex has engaged in terroristic threats to Clark and his family. That's a crime. Not only that, but he had a military official kidnapped and ordered their execution, even if it failed. I get that they want the Kents to solve the Lex problem themselves somehow, but the dude should be back behind bars. I'm also sure that creating Doomsday has to result in many violations of various laws including kidnapping, torture, conspiracy to commit murder (even if Superman was revived he was still at one point dead), etc. At this point, Clark has more than enough reason to see Lex behind bars. Superman could so easily just follow Lex around for a while, recording video and audio from various angles without even being seen if he wanted to, gather the evidence that he needed to make sure Luthor never got out. But...I suppose that would make for a boring show. It still doesn't help that this show feels so contrived though.
For Context, at this point Lex is still in control of Doomsday who has already killed Clark once and General Lane. God they get Superman so perfect in this series!!! If James Gunn has half a brain, he will build up the DCU to a Crisis Story, then bring back Henry, and Tyler.
Nice to see Superman and Lex Luthor confront each other. Unfortunately, Lex does once again show that he knows that Clark is Superman. I'm glad that Superman has the compassion and humanity to try to reason with Lex, but Lex is too blinded by his anger to see reason.
They make superman look so damn weak. Even the body language of Lex seems superior. He's TOO damn comfortable. Come on man. Being good doesn't have to mean being a punk.
Whatever happens after this, at least Clark can say he tried. True, Lex was innocent-of THAT crime. As opposed to how many others he WAS guilty of? I guess I’m not overly noble-but I would have left him in jail. Or better yet, on the side of that road they’re standing in-in a shallow grave. This man created a monster out of a man who was in a bad state of mind, and in no shape or form wanted what happened to him , and he sent that monster to kill you-and he succeeded. This man has threatened you and your family repeatedly-and he wants to destroy your wife especially, a wife fighting illness and who has watched her father die in front of her by the same monster that killed you. And even after all that-you’re still trying to do the right thing? Clark Kent is a damn sight of a better man than me.
To be fair, it’s still leagues better than Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal. I’ll take Biker-bearded Lex over Ritalin-induced psychosis Lex any day of the week.

Bro how is this not the main Superman going forward? I fucking hate DC and James Gunn for this. Hoechlin makes Superman look like an Alpha Badass and the writing in this version of Superman’s story is top tier. It’s no wonder the DC franchise is tanking into the trash.
No, people want him to be a reasonable father who think of his family FIRST. Lex "I'll see you at your family funeral or your own funeral AGAIN". Superman "Please, be reasonable, you need to stop this now".
To me I get this feeling that lex will end up fighting alongside him idk what it is … but if braniac comes into play as the final boss I could see a situation where lex to save his daughter sides with Superman
I thought his Lex Luthor was What's His Name from 2 ½ Men and not this stud. He sorta looks more like a rough and tough country biker gang version of Lex Luthor or something lol.
In any reasonably realistic world, Lex would suddenly disappear, and the problems he was causing would disappear with him. This would happen with the Joker as well. A hero's indulgence with such personalities would mean that innocent people would die. Knowing this simple fact leaves the hero, regardless of who he is, with no choice.
Not sure why Supes felt the need to apologize. Lex wasn't taken away because Lois and Superman were "mean". He was taken away because he is a criminal. His actions are why he was taken away.
Because Clark empathized with the feeling of a father losing his time with his children. This was an attempt at showing to Lex that he understands his pain, but that Lex needed to take responsibility for his criminal actions and accept that the consequences were because of said actions. The problem is that Clark is trying to break a wall built by a Manic Narcissistic megalomaniac who only wants his way. I mean, even look at the New 52's comic stories, Lex finally joins the heroes side, and becomes a hero... That is still Narcissistic AF. By the Smallville Series Standards, it is understandable that Lex became Narcissistic and it seems that is the spectrum in all universes.
@@Obi-Wanthepyromaniac Superman is Superman, he tries as much as he can to resolve problems. You may see him as being "self righteous" but you are forgetting that Lex is also Lex, and he committed crimes that led him to be in the position he is in. It was all addressed in the flashbacks entirely, even his daughter told him to his face, his ex-wife as well. The main issue that Lex has on this is that he wants his way, like always, and he relegates guilt to others instead of accepting his responsibilities. His daughter tried to reason with him, to connect and he stubbornly pushed her away even as she gave him a chance. Clark tried to make him see, but Lex is so narcissistic he doesn't budge. Hell, Lois was able to reason with Doomsday himself and was successful.
@Obi-Wanthepyromaniac Why is Clark being self righteous? Because he is trying to get Lex to accept his own responsibility? Because he is trying to have Lex understand that all that has been bad for Lex is of his own doing but that Lex can change and have redemption? That Lex is not doing this for justice and is only being the same old spoiled, narcissistic creep he's always been by still trying to destroy people because they brought him to justice?

Tal-Rho wouldve dealt with Luther the moment he stepped foot on Clark's farm and made a threat..... Clark's sense of justice is why he died the first time and is why Lois's Dad is dead...
this is sorta a problem ive always had with the no kill thing. at a certain point, not stopping some one you know is going to do harm, you become responsible. superman knows Lex has plans and if one person gets hurt, superman is also to blame. part of being a traditional hero is being a killer. just grab him and the truck and throw him into space.
I'd have simply crimped sealed the door and flown the truck to the dark side of the moon. No more Lex. No more threats to the family. Stupid games. Stupid prizes.

If James Gunn has half a brain, he will build up the DCU to a Crisis Story, then bring back Henry, and Tyler.
It's sad to see this show ending. I would love to see more of these two.
Luthor is smart, but entirely irrational when it comes to Supes
This guy thought to himself, what if Nic Nolte played Lex Luthor? And so he did just that and I love it.
Nice to see Superman and Lex Luthor confront each other. Unfortunately, Lex does once again show that he knows that Clark is Superman. I'm glad that Superman has the compassion and humanity to try to reason with Lex, but Lex is too blinded by his anger to see reason.
He could turn his body into 1000 pieces with a non-effort flick. We all want him to
Superman is standing in the middle of the road so he and Lex Luther were talking.!!
Dude what?
This was an awesome lex. Great series
They make superman look so damn weak. Even the body language of Lex seems superior. He's TOO damn comfortable. Come on man. Being good doesn't have to mean being a punk.
You are a punk with no morals
I see what you're saying but to be fair, Michael Cudlitz is a much more imposing and intimidating guy than Tyler Hoechlin.
The best looking lex Luther in history! He looks like he belongs in a biker gang. Who is in charge of casting? Ray Charles?
To be fair, it’s still leagues better than Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal. I’ll take Biker-bearded Lex over Ritalin-induced psychosis Lex any day of the week.
He looks like a human Thanos with a beard! This casting is steaming diarrhea 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Ithoughtthiswasamerica
I think you're confused.
Jessie was playing Lex Luthor's SON. Not Lex Luthor himself. but yes, you're RIGHT; Jessie took the wrong tack.
He's been in prison for 17 years. How do you expect him to look?
This is some good acting will have to check this series out.
Then you should consider watching better shows and movies
Midwestern country bumpkin biker Lex. It's amazing how certain archetypes get such a bump to their image/intelligence.
This scene reminds me of when Barry talked to Thawne in Flash 9x10 trying to get him to stop his hatred.
“You never know, what’s gonna come through that door”
Super Dorkfish! More powerful than a bad attitude. Able to leap tall resorts in a single bound. Faster than a jet propelled avalanch. Look, It's a SUV, it's a 4x4, it's an out bored, it's SUPER DORKFISH!
I like this take on him
Bro how is this not the main Superman going forward? I fucking hate DC and James Gunn for this. Hoechlin makes Superman look like an Alpha Badass and the writing in this version of Superman’s story is top tier. It’s no wonder the DC franchise is tanking into the trash.
His Superman is hot diarrhea. I missed the Man of Steel, Henry Cavill😢
"Until we can move foward, the cycle must end" - Jean-Luc Picard
Everybody in these comments wants Superman to be homelander
No, people want him to be a reasonable father who think of his family FIRST.
Lex "I'll see you at your family funeral or your own funeral AGAIN".
Superman "Please, be reasonable, you need to stop this now".
Now we're talking
Love Lois but it is nice to finally just have superman and lex for a scene
Superman could have easily back handed lex into a coma. Lol
- Woot, Team Lex, Lois has it coming!
Do a Brightburn. Fly him a couple of miles up into the sky and "Oops!"
That’s absolute Lex
He needs an absolute SuperMan
"This just in: Lex Luthor was found in orbit by the crew of the ISS."
To me I get this feeling that lex will end up fighting alongside him idk what it is … but if braniac comes into play as the final boss I could see a situation where lex to save his daughter sides with Superman
Damn Superamigo 😂😂
This dude playing Lex... Mighty Ducks 3. I remember him.
I thought his Lex Luthor was What's His Name from 2 ½ Men and not this stud. He sorta looks more like a rough and tough country biker gang version of Lex Luthor or something lol.
this why I can't be superman, after what lex did, if I saw him Id take him and his truck into space and sing a little song
At this point there is no recovering him Lex Luther will out to destroy Superman and his family and those who follow him
I’m liking the darker suit this time round, hope it’s a nod to the black suit when he returned from the dead
@@LondonCelt I have always liked the darker suit since Superman lll during the junkyard fight scene.
They made Lex look he runs a pawn shop....💀💀💀
In any reasonably realistic world, Lex would suddenly disappear, and the problems he was causing would disappear with him.
This would happen with the Joker as well.
A hero's indulgence with such personalities would mean that innocent people would die. Knowing this simple fact leaves the hero, regardless of who he is, with no choice.
Lex Luthor looks like a guy who builds motorcycles.
DAMMIT just laser Lex to ash. Go dark Superman. Think of all the lives you save...
He should've just taken Clark's offer here. Lex got absolutely clapped in the latest episode
When you order Superman off Temu
Interesting choice of casting for Lex.
His head is.. dolphin smooth.
That is one terrible ass wig 😅😂😂
@@EternalRomanstill Superman was being self righteous here
@@Obi-Wanthepyromaniac Superman is Superman, he tries as much as he can to resolve problems.
@ that’s not “seeing him” as self righteous, he is being self righteous. That’s literally the definition.
The fact he blocked him on the road represents this is intimidation
Superman to Lex "Please leave me alone and don't beat me up anymore. I'll give you money".
Damn this lex is far more better than that jester in supergirl
And whereabout Steel
Budget cut sadly but we’ll might see him again in the next episode
I haven't watched the show yet, but I'm not sure I like this older biker version of Lex. 🤔
And what the heck was going on with his hair when he had it? 😅
This casting makes me prefer Jesse Eisenberg over this Paul Teutul Sr. looking mother fkr🤣The biker look is a Lobo thing! Lex is a goddamn CEO business man! His supervillain suit is his dress clothes!!! That's like making Bruce Wayne dress like an employee of a UPS delivery driver🤣🤣🤣🤣
The hair made him look like a goddamn orangutan 🤣
I wonder how Homelander would handle Luthor…
Luthor would find a way to kill him
A lot of people think Homelander is way more powerful than he actually is. Lex is way too intelligent and resourceful to die to somebody like Homelander.
@@gagetaylor192 If homelander landed in front of lex like in the clip he would insta laser him, laugh and fly away lol
@@gagetaylor192 Only reason lex is alive is because superman is a nice guy with unbreakable morals. Homelander would melt his brain the moment he smelled him in the city.
When you have Superman at home
When Lex gets within 5 miles grom Smallville, move him to the far side of the Earth. Repeat.
Tal-Rho wouldve dealt with Luther the moment he stepped foot on Clark's farm and made a threat..... Clark's sense of justice is why he died the first time and is why Lois's Dad is dead...
HeisenLex 😂 “Say my name”
this is sorta a problem ive always had with the no kill thing. at a certain point, not stopping some one you know is going to do harm, you become responsible. superman knows Lex has plans and if one person gets hurt, superman is also to blame. part of being a traditional hero is being a killer. just grab him and the truck and throw him into space.
See you couldn’t give me Superman powers. Lex would have been saw what the sun surface look likes first hand
His didn’t try to use reason. He tried to use sentiment.
His mistake was talking instead of using interpretive dance.
If this had been Batman, Luthor would not be driving away. If it was Ben Affleck's Batman, he'd have unalived him.
Superman could have killed him at any time, Lex could only say what he did because he knew how moral Superman was.
got to rich like Luthor to afford a new truck
He's Lex Luther but not the one we know. The muiltvirse has a way of alining fates.
Homelander would just LASER this guy..
I'd have simply crimped sealed the door and flown the truck to the dark side of the moon. No more Lex. No more threats to the family. Stupid games. Stupid prizes.
Just like he told Batman in our with Superman, I could kill you anytime I want to but he restraining himself.
He could just leave him on the moon!
Should've just fried Luthor there and then, but that wouldn't solve anything either. Evil will just burn itself up in the end - always has, always will...
That looks so much like Sarah Douglas
Mannn... Lex Luther would have been the 1st man on the moon, in street clothes, if I were Superman.
