one important think to add here: if u use a fanatec wheelbase, turn the BRF OFF! if u have it set to 50% or even higher the amount of pressure you apply gets boosted and this feels very strange. because than the car brakes 100% although u just press at half pressure possible at your brake. i turned this BRF setting to 0% and the difference was so much better!
@@byMariusz It's all about what works for you. I run BRF at 40%. Tried loads of other combinations and this one makes ME being most consistent on the brakes.
Lmao, no. Brf is how much braking you want for full braking. So if you can consistently hit 80 then set it to 80, it all depends how stiff you want it, and which elastomers from brake performance kit ur using. I run 75 with my brake performance kit. At 100 it would feel weird and be hard to consistently hit 100 and to do precise braking, u definitely want to run this setting with bpk
Gamer Muscle did this too. Have to try it probably with softest polyurethane. Few tips I have. Before installing to plate insert usb-cable for firmware updates. You can’t get it in on rig. Turn the part around that has the brake retaining screw. Again when on rig you can’t get it out otherwise. Now just unscrew motor from above and you can access the screw and mess with the insert hardness. Lower the gas throttle throw with screwing the rod in. I like the black spring more. Oh and don’t bother with damper kit it makes braking and gas worse.
How's the wait period for you going? It's been 2 weeks for me since they set the V3 order status as fully shipped yet I have not received any email regarding the order as far as tracking goes. However, I ordered it when the product page indicated that it was in stock.
Got mine yesterday. Though UPS are horrific. I’ve got another Fanatec order at a collection point that I can’t collect because they won’t give me a code. The irony!
I must say it again - you helped me. I had to get used to this mod, but after several days of training it is perfect. Thanks. I also made my own mod for throttle pedal. I wanted to shorten its travel so I took M12 screw where there is a part without thread. I cut a 9mm high piece with a hacksaw (cannot be longer or you do not fit it into the piston hole). And similarly to the process of changing brake dampers, I inserted it under the throttle "piston". Result is pretty accurate for my likings.
@@jamesfoster5165 Yes, I know but i read somewhere that it is not recommended to do so. Maybe a little bit is OK but not by 10mm or so. So I decided to make a simple „hack“.
Im running the 12mm red with one of the original elastomers plus the pu foam, it feels good after 50% but it could be herder in the first 50%, might replace pu foam with a cut red and see.
I changed to that long ago, but it locks up the brakes for me, so I installed 2 greens, but with the white elastomer supplied as directed. Firm pedal, less lock up. Interesting the gap you left. Why did you not cut it longer?
Great content as always… So you still use that hack of two greens and one third of another green elastometer ? Or did you find it to hard and combine a red piece instead of a green ?
This video is so good, still coming back to it. For me, Digit inspired me to try this less than a year ago (cut rubber instead of using foam, 13Red cut for me). Then last week when I was maintenancing the pedal, I decided to go back as Digit recently suggested (Foam+13R+12G). However, after a week, I went back to cut rubber instead of the foam. The foam gives me too much of a separation feel, very spongy short press followed by harder rubber feel. I went back to 13R cut + 13R + 13R (I own 2 BPKs), which gives me a very linear press feel. I'm nowhere near Digit's pace, but this works best for me. Everyone is different so there's no magic fixed setting, but thought I share. Cheers.
I've done this mod to my pedals but I've found the rubber is creaking when I press the pedal, any ideas why? I only put thin film of grease on so maybe I need to smother it.
Ciao e grazie per la condivisione , ho una domanda da farti visto che usiamo lo stesso volante, fanatec gt , che impostazioni usi sia con software fanatec , e che impostazioni hai sulla ps5 , grazie
@@DigitRacingDG Thank you. I think I've gone the opposite, my Preload is maxed out. My particular problem is ACC vs every other sim. ACC requires about half the pressure needed vs iRacing, for instance. That's because in ACC, you have to be at 100% brake pressure for extended periods of time. With that, I want less travel.
You can also adjust the throw on the throttle and change the tension on the spring if you know how I’m grabbing a hydraulic piston for my gas pedal my black spring is starting to wear
Just tried this now and I realized i been missing out. Trail braking and modulation is so much better now after re calibration and tuning. Thank you!
What preload position did you choose . . .

What's BRF? Just got my first wheel base and pedals
Breakforce in the Tuning Menu
Is that a thing? I have read many people saying that a higher BRF worked better for them.

Im using 13mm red and 12 green so its suppose to be soft, but my pedal is very hard.
Preload Level 1 is the most hardness?
pls don't forget to set the BRF (frake force) in fanalab or fanatec software or on the fanatec wheel settings (same setting)
Just bought V3s on Black Friday so very glad you made this video last year!

Did you try this? I need to play around with mine and find a good setup, I have mine way to stiff right now and I'm not a fan.
What colours do you use now? Still the cut way? 12 or 13 greens?

I got back to the recommended setup from Fanatec now. I spent a lot of time trying to get the best feeling, so if you can, try both.
@@DigitRacingDG so yellow red green ?

Kind of, I cut the part of the rubber to get myself more travel

Your hack is a product they sell for this literal reason?
Well no, they don't recommend cutting the rubber in half to fill the space
