Yo, IMO should share some of those little achievements in your community tab to help amplify the positivity of your project.

Yep game dev is a absolute slog so much to learn your doing a good job tho keep up the grind. I am struggling with animations in blender at the moment to ,doing reloads is a lot harder than i thought. I have a good first person ads and procedural recoil/idle sway system in unreal but now i am doing the 3rd person side of the set up with animations and struggling i use the Mr Mannequin Rig add on in blender its pretty good for exporting to unreal

Yea I just started putting that mr mannequin to use haha, def a huge help. I found anim really difficult to get started with but I'm actually starting to enjoy it now, thank god XD. What kind of game are you working on?

been a solo dev for 8 years. you guys really, really need to listen to other devs. we keep telling you. stop with the dream game. stop with the rpg multiplayer. stop with the solo developing literally cod. start with smaller games that you can actually complete. you should be 30% outside your comfort zone per project, the rest of the time, 70% you should feel comfortable doing. one game, one step at a time. that's how you get good. if you want to become dangerous, start studying actual game theory and design. start getting into human nature to really understand what makes you want to play certain games. as a practical exercise, go play free flash games online. there are dozens and you don't have to download anything. understand why certain games are good and many are terrible. ask yourself how do the controls feel. what type of controls do I have. can they be better? is there a break point in the game where I don't want to play? what if the game had a slower reload? how long did it take me to understand everything without a tutorial? is there enough content? lots of critical thinking questions that will make a better developer.

Hey man these videos are really well put together. Could you make one on the thought process you would take when you make a game idea?

It's perfectly fine to take breaks sometimes and to work at your own pace, overworking yourself will only make things worse. Just make sure you remember that

Jon, I have told you many times and will continue to tell you many more times: you are incredibly talented, ambitious, and have a passion that many people would be envious to have. You truly do not give yourself near enough credit for how hard you work, how smart you are, and how you encourage others to persevere through the rough parts of gaming.
Just remember that you aren’t alone-you have a network of supporters and friends to help you in a myriad of different ways.
You got this. I believe in you. 💜💜💜

Dude, I love your new series man! I’ve recently discovered a love for composing after many years of playing and arranging music and I totally agree! Some nights you’re staring at a screen smashing that undo button and others you’re dancing around to the most hype shiz you’ve ever heard that you just made. Being a creator is a roller coaster but those small victories keep you going. Lots of coffee breaks too!
