I'm trying to use up my some of my stash and this is the perfect project. I think I'll make a Fall one, a Halloween one, and a Christmas one. I'll bet I can find some more ideas, too. Maybe change it up a little and make the 5 inch strips EyeSpy and do something else with the "diamonds". Thank you Laura, for setting my imagination in motion! :) OOpps, another thought - a Spring Flowers one! Yep, I think my imagination is finally working again. Now to sew. See ya' at the machine. :)
Laura thank you so much for explaining the pinked edges so clearly! So many pre-cuts have them and I never know what to do! But now I do thank you again for your diagram and details.
Laura, Thank you for the lovely quilt pattern and for the tutorial. You made the instructions so clear and easy to understand. Nothing is ambiguous or left out. Much appreciated by this new quilter.🥰
Very interesting to see this pattern made this way and finished on point. I’ve made it three times already, but did it as a disappearing nine-patch, where i would have used your gray for my centers, white for the in between and the patterns in the corners. Then cut the 9-patch exactly in half and you end up with squares with sashing.
Just made this quilt from your very clear instructions and it turned out beautifully! However, I did change the layout slightly by adding a half square triangle onto all 4 corners so each of them was the same. I removed the rectangles, trimmed the edge and sewed on the triangles as for the last two corner. Thank you for the tutorial!
I just LOVE this quilt and it looks like something even I could make!!! I love precuts and this is the perfect pattern for me! Thank you for making very clear how to handle the pinked edges of the precut. Laura, you have such a sweet spirit and gentle style! Who wouldn’t want to learn from you? Thank you for this tutorial and the easy to follow instructions. I’ve already printed them out! Now I’m going hunting for a 5”square pack and a couple of charm packs!
@@zVOW34 it took me a while to find that for you, but I clicked on the drop down arrow under her video and it gave me a link to print them out. I’m not sure if that’s still available or not, but I’d think it would be???
I love watch your videos. You are the calmest, most reassuring instructor I have ever listened to. Very motivating. Thank you from Ontario, Canada. 🤩🇨🇦
Thank you for the pattern. I just made a layer cake quilt like this with the blocks on point for my bed. I love it. It was so much fun to make even when I had to rip out the triangles because I had a few sewn in wrong! Can't wait to make one with your pattern using charms. Again thank you.
I really like this. I’ve been a little bored with quilting, lately. I live in Florida and 90+ degree weather kinda puts you off making warm things. I’ve been making shorts and tops, instead, but this has perked up my interest. Thanks Laura. As always, clear and concise and very lovely.
This is awesome! I have been looking for something with about this level to make some charity quilts with fabric given to our group. For sure this will be one!
Laura, this quilt is beautiful. I love being your " student". You are the best teacher, and I plan on making this quilt. Thank you for your expertise and love your projects.
Thank you for the straightforward tutorial. I'm thinking this would be a great quilt to make when I want to contribute to a silent auction in order to raise funds for a friend's treatment. Very doable in a shorter amount of time, even for a beginner like myself.
As always, I really enjoyed this tutorial. This is a cute quilt that I need to make. I love your choice of fabrics too! Thanks for sharing! Your videos are a joy to watch. You make everything seem Sew Very Easy!
That's beautiful. Kinda reminds me of that denim one you made. Because the technique is the same The denim one is still my favorite of all the denim one I've seen. Great job.
I’ve made one like this so I understand what you were doing. But your directions are so good and easy to follow and you repeat the steps I can see a “beginner “ being able to sew this with no problems! Thanks for your teaching!
Thank you Laura, you explained it extremely well. I like the fact there wasn’t a lot of sewing going on. It made it very easy to watch and to understand. I cannot wait to start making me a quilt.
Exactly what I was looking for! I have a pack of charm squares I couldn’t decide what to make with it. But I am going to make this quilt. My only real decision will be what color accent to use. Perfect! Thanks so much for this tutorial.
Thank you so much for sharing this pattern, I was just thinking what to do with my cute charm packs fill with summer colours what a great timing for a quick summer quilt. Love you video learned so much from them, have a great summer!
I like that ! It’s a great pattern for using fabrics you love to show them off which means of course cutting them yourself instead of using charm packs but that’s ok.
Thanks for this tutorial Laura! I have never done an on point quilt before but have a few charm packs that would work well with this pattern. Greetings from Alberta. 🙂
I love this and had some 5 inch squares I wasn't sure what to do with!! This was the perfect quilt! Made it today and absolutely love it!! Thank you so much!!!
I love this quilt with it's soft colors. You tutorials are wonderful. Your a great instructor and don't leave any details out! Thank you for all you do for the sewing community! Appreciatively Anna from Manitoba!
I LOVE the quilt. And the fabric you used is adorable with the birds and soft colors. Looks like a Sunday morning! Tfs. I saved your notes on the quilt to make one myself.looks fairly easy. Tfs and God bless. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
Thank you Laura very very much. Now I can use my mini charms and my charm pack that matches. Awesome pattern. I can wait to try it. You made sewing on a angle look so easy. I always have trouble with it. See you soon.
This is beautiful. I have been looking for an idea to use up my various Tilda fat quarters and show them off to their best effect... This is lovely. Thank you.
Gorgeous quilt, I’m going to upsize, i have 2 of the same 5” charms so I can use some of these for the smaller squares and also the bigger ones to make it slightly bigger. Thank you for sharing your instructions Laura Ann, very much appreciated 💋
Laura, you just helped me decide what to do with my big stack of 5" batik squares! I've been trying to finish everything in my UFO pile and had one that just wasn't working, so I cut it all up into 5" squares. It will look good in this pattern! Thank you!
Such a pretty quilt! Rather than adding too many borders may I add 2 rows in center to make quilt larger? I am thinking I could add two more rows increasing two blocks, to each row, like u did to each row. Additionally, adding two rows of sashing, increasing 2x5s and 2x7s to added block rows. Hopefully, that makes sense. Easy video to follow your instructions thank you so much!
Lovely quilt a d pattern. Thank you sew much! I have been repeatedly attracted and drawn to that fabric collection - country weekend. This pattern show cased the fabric beautifully. Like many others I have an abundance of charm packs that would look lovely with this pattern. Then of course there’s the charm packs I have two of and my mind churns of wondering if I can figure out the pattern to make into a larger quilt 🥰. Your voice is so soothing but interesting and keeps me focused. Love your tutorials. Thank you sew much for sharing your skills and talent!
Easily done, just add another 9 square strip, then 2× 11 strips and 1× 13 strip to the centre with the extra sashing and end strips, cornerstones and triangles, for the extra 44 needed squares. You will need twice the original amount of fabric and one extra 5" square. Or do an in between size with the extra 9 square and one 11 square strip. Isn't it so nice to come across simple patterns, that can look so complex. I hope your larger quilt comes out beautiful.
This was like a magic trick. I was lost until everything got turned on an angle. Like the quilt.
I'm trying to use up my some of my stash and this is the perfect project. I think I'll make a Fall one, a Halloween one, and a Christmas one. I'll bet I can find some more ideas, too. Laura thank you so much for explaining the pinked edges so clearly! So many pre-cuts have them and I never know what to do! But now I do thank you again for your diagram and details.
