He is the reason I decided to go to school for marketing and had a huge impact on my life beyond that. Everyone knows his face on Twitch, but not enough know his name.
This is one of the best videos I've watched in a long time, not just for growing your stream but for growing yourself. Thanks Devin, I literally took notes as if I was in a college class and I have already taken action because of this video. Uploaded my first RUclips video in years. Inspiring stuff, keep it up. Love your content.
Coming into this new year I’ve been pushing myself to learn more, you really opened the doors for me, thank you for the information and please keep doing what you’re doing for us! :)
Hey Devin, you really had a significant positive impact on my life. I made my first real youtube video because of your video with Jeremy Curios. I hope you continue doing what you're doing. You're now part of my daily routine
I want to thank a viewer from my stream that recommended to see you on youtube and here I am and I want to say to you a VERY BIG "THANK YOU" for giving me a bunch of ideas and advices for literally for free, I cant express my full gratitud but I am very very thankful that you made this video, you opened my eyes wide open like WIDEEEEEEEEEE open thanks again, clearly english is not my first language but Im giving my best at a foreign country and to twitch, youtube and etc. This comment might get lost but as you said, it is worth millions to see a positive comments than negatives even if its one and here it is again thank you for making this god damn video man. Making me get better with myself.
The Mob is a perfect example of 4 kids on the come up doing something entirely different in this time period, calling back to the original Optic and Faze moves and blowing up through Twitter rather than twitch
Only got through the intro (14:50) and you have already helped me think of a unique idea that I can start doing at the beginning of my stream. I’m sure no other twitch streamer does it, so hopefully it works. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
This has got to be one of your best streams/videos yet. 1 hour of juicy info and inspiring messages. This really opened my eyes to a lot of new things and going into the New Year soon I'm gonna really push my streaming dreams. Many thanks Devin!
Amen to this man! Positivity is not as common anymore and it’s nice to have someone who is developing in that space. Inspire, lead and motivate is what I say! Great talk
Twitch streamer Mukluk 'recommended' you. I thought: yeah, he's will not make a difference in my life, im not checking out. But, i did, and im very impressed with how much you have taught me. Good job man.
Hey @Devin Nash, like your content, think I watch you now for nearly a year. Didn't watch this video before, but now it was in my feed. Thanks for all you do in the realm of content creation. And besides, I do no content creation. :-) Cheers from Germany, Berlin
Conscientiousness is such a key and I mean KEY Big Word that makes a difference. If you don't follow through and become dedicated on what you what for yourself in the future nothing will never happen. Competition is at its ultimate peak in streaming and in order to get there or at least get .01% (as you stated) of it, is so hard.
WoW Devin, I watched this from minute 0 to the end and it was an amazing talk. A lot of things I already know but you're very inspiring man. Keep doing this part of your professional life!
What's funny is youtube randomly recommended a few of your videos to me and this one being a class lecture was unique enough to me that I want to go follow you on twitch. It helps that you explained your history here so I learn about why I would want to listen to you, whereas you wouldn't do that every single time you get a new viewer on twitch.
Thank you, Devin, I'm not English but your content is unique and so interesting that I had to watch it no matter if I sometimes didn't understand it. It enlightened me on how is it to grow a stream in 2020 so thx.
Seems like everyone focuses so much on technology in streams but the real struggle behind it is just being consistent and knowing who to target and where.
I hope you can do this kind of content some more it's very educational and inspiring that people at school are seriously trying to become content creators it populates the gaming world even more
Its not until you experience stuff that i realize just how right he is. I had real life experience with the impressions. I started streaming roughly 3 weeks ago and someone followed me day 2 and never returned. Ive been increasingly more active with some of the larger streamers in their stream and i was recently lumped in with the big streamers as if i was part of the group and they started returning to my stream
The part that was really practical was when you recommended that we stream 3 to 4 hours per day as more than enough. And have a consistent schedule between 6PM PST and 12PM PST. Thank you brother!
The "impressions" example really resonated with me. I've seen your video recommendations a few times, watched a video, then got recommended this video and immediately subscribed.
Watched this video from beginning to end and I can’t believe I just learned this for free. Thank you so much, you are changing so many lives with your advices. 💜
Those closing thoughts hit me right in the feels! With all the new stream gear I got this Christmas season, I’m looking forward to all the content I can produce for people in my community.
I discovered your channell yesterday, and im consuming all your contet. Every video is very interesting. Mine favorite is the one "from 0 to 100 viewers". thera a lot of info, especialy the one regarding video title and thumbnails. I will try those for sure to see if i manage to make mine channell here on youtube grow faster
Devin is the same name of my roomate who bought me a 2080ti this year. Devin's are kings, Thank you for changing my life! Moving forward I'm applying what you've said in the background and trying to improve and so far I believe it is working.
Wow I freekin love this vid! Earlier on in the video Devin mentioned making multiple impressions. I found this hilarious because I had seen 2 or 3 of his vids before and enjoyed them, and this video for me was that impression that got me to subscribe and check out more of his content. Much love, thanks for the advice!:)
Just a nit, but what you described is industriousness. Conscientiousness essentially describes how thorough a person is, but industriousness describes how willing a person is to put in the hard work. A person high in conscientiousness but low in industriousness would do exactly what you said: list out all the possibilities and try to find the best one but not actually do the thing itself.
I appreciate this especially considering the student debt I have from attending the U of U after being forced to stop taking courses due to mental health problems. A lot more goes into that but like don’t overdo it regarding your workload.
Thank you for a very informative video Devin, Opened my eyes to many perspectives/concepts i have not considered before, and given me a kick for ones i knew but haven't been implementing. Much respect and highly appreciate what you do. Thank you for sharing.
When you've been binging all of Devin's videos and you only love him more now hearing him utter that he played DAOC. Played that game from 2002 to 2009 as a Shadowblade main. Much respect lol.
Absolutely my thought too. Loved DAOC, played Midgard/Percival from day 1 of the game with some breaks here and there. Best PvP system of any MMORPG I have tried. Played a lot of classes but Dark Spiritmaster was my main without doubt.
Some people don't know what affiliate means and that is part of the problem. Being an affiliate is about getting people from outside the platform to come to the platform. You are a marketing tool for Twitch as an affiliate or partner and that is all.
Yea but I still don’t get it. Let’s say you have 24 so you have 5 years to screw up but if you are 25 you don’t have this privilege? Maybe he meant you have time till you hit 29-30?
I really don't know how i ended up here, watch that much video OR even how i watch this full one BUT i know i owe you a "Thank you". You're inspiring sir
Thanks Devin! I appreciate all this info. Much respect to you for putting out this content and helping those that are trying to make content creation a full time gig Now time to put it to action 💪
Devin I gotta say, I just recently discovered you and u help me becoming a Twitch streamer, you're giving me the motivation to stream frequently I still have to learn to do RUclips videos but I try to upload on my schedule, keep doing what u do and maybe one day u will even talk to me and give me tips who knows. Much love Daitan
I also play Fallen Order, but i make content from it. Star Wars The Fallen Order from a true star wars fan perspective. Very good video, lot to learn from it people. These things I had to learn in real world (working) not from books and college. Marketing and Content is ruling the world. Get on board or be left behind. In the next 10 years besides Marketing and Content will be also Coding.
49:00 I would agree with this. I used to love playing Realm Royale since streamers would host games with the community and we would lobby snipe and have a good time. When they moved away from Realm Royale and/or grew, I stopped watching them as much.
Yep, at 12 minutes I realized you are not a hack. "What problem can you solve right now?" If you are a music creator or have a band that is just starting, create music and give it copyright free to twitch so people can use it to stream without DMCA issues.
Yea but I still don’t get it. Let’s say you have 24 so you have 5 years to screw up but if you are 25 you don’t have this privilege? Maybe he meant you have time till you hit 29-30?
This has been so much more helpful than other videos thank you so much. Im looking forward to improving on twitch. I wanna get to affiliate before my birthday in June. I also wanna go to twichcon to get inspired even more. Thank you
The first time I clicked on this video it got privated while i was 15 minutes in.. lmao. I'm glad its back, cause it seemed like crazy valuable content.
Just a great video. The Algorithm got me here because I enjoy Disguised Toast, Devin did a really informative and high level breakdown of why Toast went to Facebook and then it recommended this. I thought that his Toast -> FB Breakdown was going to be a little more cynical but instead he busted out the Notepad and went full business analyst and I couldn't stop watching. Now I'm wondering how I get the equivalent to that skillset he provided for an unrelated field of business! Sheesh.
this is really great advice, im glad i discovered it. A question i have is about the viewer ratio on sullgnome, should all games be held to the same standard? For instance, a less popular game.
Devin: *Writes list of bad questions*
Class: *Asks him all of them*
lol
I'm glad you mentioned TotalBiscuit. He wasn't perfect but he did a lot of good for the industry and inspired a lot of people.
I actually teared up when he mentioned him, even though I've never known TotalBiscuit.
I really miss his content
He is the reason I decided to go to school for marketing and had a huge impact on my life beyond that. Everyone knows his face on Twitch, but not enough know his name.
Im at fhe 27 min mark and youve provided so much value is ridiculous man you really are killing the game im not trying to over exaggerate either.
Imagine paying 20k for a semester at college and you see Devin pop up on the projector lol, I love the content just thought it was funny
scrolling through the comments and saw Titanfall 2 profile pic. I appreciate u
This is one of the best videos I've watched in a long time, not just for growing your stream but for growing yourself. Thanks Devin, I literally took notes as if I was in a college class and I have already taken action because of this video. Uploaded my first RUclips video in years. Inspiring stuff, keep it up. That's awesome, and your vids are doing great! Keep at it!
This has not lost quality over the past year, in fact this video is pure gold.
wait, why does the last few words of his sentence always gets cut off TT
Coming into this new year I’ve been pushing myself to learn more, you really opened the doors for me, thank you for the information and please keep doing what you’re doing for us! :)
Just watched this in November 2021 and this advice is still absolutely diamond-tier, Devin. Talk about making Evergreen content! Thanks, man.

Why was the video privated??? I was watching it yesterday and extremely confused thankfully its back up
Shinymew121 same, I watched half of it fell asleep and it was private
Only got through the intro (14:50) and you have already helped me think of a unique idea that I can start doing at the beginning of my stream. I’m sure no other twitch streamer does it, so hopefully it works. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

This was easily the most informative breakdown that can help almost every streamer out there. Awesome work Devin!
Amen to this man! Positivity is not as common anymore and it’s nice to have someone who is developing in that space.
Inspire, lead and motivate is what I say!
Great talk

Thank you, Devin, I'm not English but your content is unique and so interesting that I had to watch it no matter if I sometimes didn't understand it. It enlightened me on how is it to grow a stream in 2020 so thx.

the pokimane thumbnail is how you know devin has 300 iq
lol
lmao this is the reason i'm unsubscribing.
@@twi57ed You commenting makes his video more popular.
@@oceanman4911 lmao i can live with that

47:14 hello from 2022 where tikotok is a pretty popular platform
a lot of this stuff applies for youtube and content creation in general, for anyone wondering.
thanks for the content man!
