  • I just bought these batteries for the Canon C200. They are great for shooting handheld and just cost half of what the original Canon batteries do.
    These are the "Swit LB-CA50" batteries with D-tap and usb out - for the camera and other equipment.
    Here's where I bought them:

    Thanks. Great research and solution. I use swit a lot, good to know they offer this and the double D tap cable :)

    nice! I came across CORESWX NANO-C98 with a 98WH solution for C200, almost the same price as the Canon one, but with P-tap and USB out that can be used to power other devices... also HAWK WOODS, half the price of Canon's.

    Nice Vid man, these swit batteries are really nice. It's also nice that they have usb so you can power up ssd drive (with cfast to ssd adapter) and still be handheld and compact. By the way when youre shooting mixed stuff (tripod, handheld, glidecam) its easy to stick the original battery for handheld and when you're on the tripod just add aditional power via d-tap (I just leave my vmount battery in a small bag hanging on my tripod), this way you're light when you need to, and have a lot of power :) also about v-mounts, I tjink that you can use them as a counterweight on a glidecam that goes with swit's too. This way the whole setup sure will become much lighter :)

      Hey there. You are absolutely right about the v-mounts. When I have some more tripod intense shoots I'll definitely consider that - even the counterweight is a nice one! I'm waiting for the Ronin S to be available and test it though ... let's see what happens :-)

      The Keen Pixel I saw you're in Europe like me. I wonder what cfast you're using? About the Ronin S it's really interesting what will be the whole weight of the setup. I'm using Ronin M and recently I've found a very interesting setup with c200 - soon when I have time I will try to make a video about it.

      great - would like to see that! Yeah, I'm based between Switzerland and Italy. The Ronin M seems to be nice - Just heard that the c200 is not ideal weight and space wise for the M. And I like quick and easy setups for my small-mid projects. that's why a flycam is useful but not always ideal. So I'll be happy to have a look at the Ronin S. I use The Komputerbay C-fast cards. Even though some people talked badly about them, I didn't have a single problem. They ship around 270Euros for the 256GB version.

    Hi there, thank you for the video! The "Swit" option is amazing! I just got myself a brand new canon battery for my C200B and it hurt my pocket real bad. I'm interested to know how that battery performs over time and if you can feed a monitor how long it would last.

      Hi Carolina, yeah, pretty interesting battery we got here. once I got some more production experience with it I'll probably make another video with more details.

    Hi! I have Canon C200 and i'm wondering if the batteries are still working ok with Canon C200 without any harmful issues, i need to buy same but i'm afraid a little bit to cause a problem to my camera. Thanks in advanced.

    Great video thank you for finding it! if you don’t mind, about how long does each of those Swit batteries last, give or take? thanks again!

      Hi Kevin, I didn't actually measure the time yet - since the batteries are attached to the dc-in the camera thinks the battery is a dc-power cable and doesn't tell you the time left. but feeling wise it's around 4 hours. I'll check this out better though. With the two batteries in the kit and the original canon that comes with the camera you definitely can handle a shooting day

    • @thekeenpixel5912
      @thekeenpixel5912  6 лет назад +2

      Hey Kevin, I have an precise answer for you. The battery lasts 3hours 45 minutes with the c200 switched on and the lens pointed on some moving leaves which means it's often times focussing. I usually never keep the camera always on - you got to move from one location to the next and have prep times - anyhow, never switching off, just for battery change you'll get 7.5 hours of the two batteries plus the canon standard battery with something like 2 hours (perhaps 1.5). So in the end you get 9 to 9.5 hours of continuous shooting with fresh batteries. This is good for me for a shooting day.

      The Keen Pixel thank you so much! I’ll follow and look forward to seeing more stuff on the C200 in general. Waiting on approval to get mine, fingers crossed. :)

    You mention in the video a double D tap cable? Im trying to find it so I can run cable from battery into DC and also run a monitor off the the same outlet cable? Where did you see that...is it a Swit cable? Cheers :)

    • @thekeenpixel5912
      @thekeenpixel5912  5 лет назад

      Hi Obi, yes this is a Swit cable. I thought it was supposed to ship with the package bundle (2 batteries, charger and c200 d-tap cable). the D-tap cable should have a loop through and another plug on the back of the plug. but they didn't ship this one to me. Might be because I did buy here: www.proav.co.uk/swit-lb-ca50-14-4v-li-ion-battery-pack-kit
      You can see the cable I'm talking about on the swit page: www.swit.cc/productshow.aspx?id=301
      Cheers man

      Cheers man thats total awesomeness. Thats what I was trying to find on Swit site. I think its the really great solution for powering and charging :) Im shooting some 1hr docs and like you I like to keep things as lightweight and footprint small as possible. This power setup will likely be what we use. Thanx!

  • @solomoneross

    Be careful we fried one of our c200's AC in port with the swit batteries. I think we got one bad one. $700 to repair. curious if you have run into any issues thus far?

    • @thekeenpixel5912
      @thekeenpixel5912  5 лет назад

      Hi Solomon, thanks for the comment. that's not so good news. I've used the batteries quite intensively but have not run into any kind of problem so far. Nice performance for now. I really like the fact that you can charge both of them at the same time. Let's hope the one that fried your port was an exception! I guess the only way you used the port was with the Swit batteries so you are sure it was them?

    • @solomoneross
      @solomoneross 5 лет назад

      The Keen Pixel yes only the swit batteries were used. Iv emailed them with canons diagnosis paperwork. So we will see if swit makes it right or not

      @@solomoneross I see. Perhaps they will ask you to send them the "killer" battery so they can test it. Would be great if you let me know what they respond.
