I never understood the need to remake this game at all. It made sense for Black Mesa because the character mods in the original Half-Life looked massively outdated. But here everything holds up unbelievably well to the point where it looks like Next gen. BEFORE Next gen. was a thing

Seriously. This is the epitome of good. whenever I watch a walkthrough, i always see a person who casually meanders through the game with no commentary, or a decent person who talks the whole time. You however CLEARLY know what you are doing, and that makes this whole playthrough that much more brilliant.

Things i hate about this:

You can ignore those options when installing the mod

This is the best walkthrough with the Cinematic Mod I've seen by far. My only suggestion is to stop going through so quickly and take in more of the environment.
It had to be quick because RUclips has file size limits. 1080p videos with a good bitrate are BIG! If the video had been any longer then visual quality would have to be reduced. It's a balance so no time to be standing around looking at the pretty flowers =) Thanks for your comment and remember to share with your friends =)

The funny thing is that the texturing work on everything but the character models is fairly good, but then they did the characters and they either changed them beyond recognition or made them into an erotic mod that you would find for Skyrim. Not to mention that they don't emote... at all. Kind of disappointing because there's talent in this mod, but certainly not in the character department.
the mod kinda mixed in elements from episode 2 and some of the beta content, with the larger abundance of pine trees and a MUCH larger amount of buildings in the canals
Man this really looks amazing. About a third of the way through, I realized it was not only a re-detailing of the levels, but in some areas, a complete reworking. Incredible look and feel.
The mod looks amazing, my only complaints is the human models don't have much expression, and I believe that the citizens need to look more like peasants like in the original game, because remember, the world is under control by an empire. (Also.... the female models are a little too exposing, even for Dr. Mossman, and especially for Alyx.)

In the Nova Prospect room with the THREE turrets (the 2nd turret defense) I have an simpler setup...
There's 4 turret storage bays with 3 turrets. In bay 1 & 4, put a turret facing outward. Then you sit in either 2 or 3 (protected on 3 sides) with a turret setup in front of you. 1 & 4 are almost impossible to knock over. Once they get to you, you can quickly keep setting up your turret. You can make it thru the entire thing taking very little damage.

Even if this isn't the greatest remaster of Half Life 2, I don't think anyone can deny just how much detail the developers of HL2CM have put into the game. I personally think it's graphically stunning even if the models, weapons, animation, and general atmosphere doesn't completely mimic the original.

This mod is seriously amazing. The visuals are so satisfying to look at for a ten year old game. However, I can understand why some people hate the character models, as they don't look anything like they do in the original game.

Wolf Lord it still is for many players, i still play it like twice a year, sometimes i test all these different mods, but the game itself won't lose its charm, just like the 1999 game, it's still going strong.

I really like outer world, a lot of great work is done. But the coloring is very unnatural. Try to make it less contrast and try to use classic cinematic blue-orange color scheme.
This is the perfect example of video games are art.

16:00 they didn't even animate Hedy! She's supposed to jump into the teleporter, which is how she winds up on the other side in the desert with the crows. For a mod that calls itself "cinematic," it's not very good with cutscenes, is it.
Why is Gman so not scary? Where are his icy-blue eyes? Where are his wrinkles? Why is Alyx so puffy and inhuman? Her face looks more like an Avatar catwoman. Where is her Black Mesa shirt? Why does the environment look so damned bloomy?
I remember Mossman was moderately attractive before. But this took it way too far, she looks anorexic, not like the healthy, middle-age scientist she's supposed to be.

The only reason I'd like to try this is that I'm tired of old HL2. Played too many custom made singleplayer mods, so that pretty much made me bored of the same tactics and environments. Other than perverted graffiti and the new models for the characters, I like the looks of this! The graphics, more detail to the world in a more modern-age sort of way, but the creators kinda went overboard with certain content. I doubt Alyx would get boob implants, this isn't LA, this is Bulgaria. Maybe in Combine controlled LA that might happen, but not here.
And I doubt rebels would put constant swears and porn on the buildings. What I would've liked to see is graffiti that kinda resembles Left 4 Dead's, like messages on the walls with a little added humor. I'm all up for thinking outside the box in the HL2 canon, but not like this. What do you brahs think?
