- 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang lining up with a Dodge Challenger Hellcat for some 1/4 mile drag racing.
GT500 has the air box lid & filter removed, and took off the hood vent rain tray. Hellcat is on 17" Mickey Thompson ET S/S tires and the GT500 is running Toyo R888Rs.

@@doloressalgado3427 hellcat has 17’ wheels which helps alot in launching. In stock form with stock tires even the redeye loses to a GT500.

You hear that 5.0 rev upwards of 7k. That's when things got ugly for the hemi. The race was spot on. 650lbs tq 707ish hp hemi gets the jump. 625lbs tq 760 hp smaller displacement 5L ish out revs and out runs the hemi down the track. Smashing race.

I’ve seen countless number of videos of the gt500 destroying hellcats , zl1s , z06s, and others! People hate to admit the gt500 might give dodge a run for the money
It's all in the weight, a lighter car will outpace a heavy Mopar
Maybe a hellcat because the gt500 also costs like 30k more and has a some better parts but the demon makes a gt500 look like light work

Despite its weight, the hellcat just moves with that low end torque at the start. Those hemi really do have grunt . Mustang has good top end too

The 2020gt500 makes a bad driver look good the vehicle does puts it's power down and the DCT transmission is insane I own one

Thanks. Both stock power. The owner of the GT500 removed his air box lid and removed the hood vent rain tray. Just by doing that he was able to gain an extra 5 mph and better time which is pretty impressive.

Yes both cars are stock power. The owner of the GT500 only removed his air box lid and removed the hood vent rain tray. Just by doing that he was able to gain an extra 5 mph and better time.
We were both on sticky tires. I was on 17" MT ET S/S tires and the GT500 was on Toyo R888Rs.

It's a regular Hellcat. My car is a 2019 so in that year and up they came with the Redeye hoods.
And the Mustang can go around a corner!!

A more even match up would be the GT500 and the HellCat Red-eye.
GT350 and HellCat is lopsided on the HellCat side.
Nothing is lining up with the Demon.
So show me a Red-eye vs. the 500.
GT500s stomp redeyes almost consistently as well. The GT500 is simply built on a superior platform in comparison to hellcats.

Red eye different supercharger size and engine displacement of 2.7L.
At that point then it's fair to compare the GT500 - Super Snake to the Red Eye because Ford only has the stock GT500 they don't sell another version of the GT500. The Super Snake will kill the Redeye. Easily. The Super Snake is packing 825HP but only limited numbers were made. No way will a Redeye be able to beat a Super Snake.

Both at same power basically. The Shelby transmission makes the difference. But considering it's $30k more, the Hell Cat is the better value. I'm a die hard Mustang guy, have an 09 GT500 myself. The price of the new GT500 is ridiculous.

Considering the GT500 has more capabilities in performance than the hellcat, I say the GT500 is the better value.
You have to be someone else posing as a GT500 owner. That car could carve canyons and go on long cruises while it is versatile as an everyday car too. Try that with the Hellcat it can only go in a straight line.. : )

Just saying if you wanted power, you could get a Hell Cat 30, 40, 50k less than a new GT500. You can add suspension parts and still be 30k under. I'm a hard-core Mustang guy, but also a Car Guy. I love all cars. Everything I've said is 100% correct

What’s the weight difference
According to Google the GT500 weighs 4,183 lbs. The Hellcat Challenger weighs 4,448 lbs. So a 265 lb weight difference.

I think dodge went downhill after it got bought out by fiat. They thought the idea behind American pony cars was throwing bigger motors in it while the real idea behind a pony car is having sport, engineering, as well as big HP.
