    Soy francesa, mi pareja es cubana, cada año descubro un poco más de este país, es cierto que la vida es muy complicada para los cubanos por eso sigo viniendo cada vez con más cosas que ofrecer. la gente me tocó muy en el corazón, no voy a lugares turísticos, aunque para los cubanos es difícil, sigo siendo admirado y respetuoso con ellos porque te reciben como nadie te recibirá en otros lugares. Cuba es verdaderamente un país aparte. para mí la visita y la inmersión nunca terminarán, también estoy preparando mi otro viaje para el mes de agosto, para mis amigos cubanos, mi familia cubana... Los amo desde el fondo de mi corazón

      The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
      Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
      And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
      And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
      And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
      And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
      And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
      And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
      And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
      And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
      And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
      And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
      And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
      And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
      And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
      And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
      So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
      Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
      Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
      But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
      And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
      Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
      Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
      Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
      And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
      (Gospel of Matthew - Chapter 1)

It's always black folks that try to convince others that "it's not bad", giving us their personal experiences that we cannot fact check, and making excuses for these individuals situations.

      Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
      Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

    Make no mistake, at its heart Cuba is a ruthless and dangerous Police State that crushes any who are brave enough to raise their head and speak of the misery and desperate living conditions on the island. They brag of 'free' this and that but the Cubanos pay for their education and medical care with very limited opportunities for advancement, chronic food shortages, stinking streets, dead-in-the-face state security men always looking out for those who do not "conform," and endless miles of red tape for a "Nanny Government" that has become largely dysfunctional, creating a dystopian paradise.
    Why do you think so many leave? Why so many who want to leave? Because: THERE IS NOT INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITY IN CUBA WITH THE HEAVY HAND OF A COMMUNIST FORM OF GOVERNMENT INTRUDING INTO EVERYONES DAILY LIVES. TRUE LIBERTY AND FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION ARE DEAD BIRDS LYING IN THE STRETS OF CUBA.
    Having said all this, the Cubanos I came to know and love were wonderful, warm, friendly and caring people. VIVA UNA CUBA LIBRE EN VERDAD!

      @@jpjp280 The Soviet Union was dissolved without a violent revolution. I think that Detente between the United States and the Soviets during the Regan administration led to the collapse because of the absence of outside threat it brought on. In other words, when you eliminate the "boogey man" at your doorstep the people in the house can begin to see how truly messed up the house is and in masse demand change. Everyone who has known Cuba personally recognizes how messed up the house is and how much pressure there is for a change. What they need is a dynamic leader who has the courage to stand up and speak the truth and say "Deme libertad en realidad, o deme nada!" "Give me true liberty or give me nothing."

      the leaders you speak of are an abundance in Cuba. We are passionate hot blooded people. Cubans have been fighting and protesting the communist party in power for decades. We want change but when the second amendment only applies to the government “if you know what I mean” ,then there is no chance for the people. I believe violence is not the solution but I also believe that if you have enough of certain circumstances then violence will seem like the most impactful option. It’s been 70 years brother.

      JP, Thank you for the note. I certainly understand your points. When I returned from Cuba I lobbied against the US embargo because I saw how the communist thugs hid behind that excuse for why things were so bad on the island. My argument was "when the castle seems to be under siege, the rulers inside gain MORE power, not less. And I do understand what you meant about the second amendment. Hopefully, with the internet availability there will be a true democratic leader who rises to the occasion and rally's the people to turn out in such numbers that the government will be forced to change.

There simply is no way to electrify or plumb the place otherwise. Everything there is 70 yrs old or if its newer the soviets built it and its in shambles. The people are lovely and Cuba has tremendous potential if they could put in modern electricity and power....Cuba should be the most wealthy country in the hemisphere. Cubans should be the richest latin amerians easily.

They took care of me, fed me and were wonderful people. They taught me how to Salsa. Cuban and Italian people are very similar in their hand gestures, zest for life and family unit. They also came here around the same time and came up around the same time, although the mafia factored in and sadly some of my uncles and some of her family became casualties of all that. Also the Catholic upbringing with all the candles and statues lol.

Instead, I now fully trust, believing in my heart, that your finished work on the cross, your perfect blood sacrifice, when you bled, suffered and died, in my place, paid for my sins in full, past, present and future.
