Unfortunately, Latin America is passionate about socialism, hence the misery and poverty in the region. I live in Brazil, a country where after being arrested for embezzling billions of dollars in corruption scandals and using Brazilian resources to help the Venezuelan and Cuban dictatorships, Luiz Inácio LULA da Silva won the last elections to be president of the country. This victory of socialism in Latin America comes largely thanks to the large international media, partly socialist, which accused our previous president of promoting deforestation in the Amazon, and now with Lula in power, deforestation has increased even more and Brazil has returned with its policy of helping neighboring socialist dictatorships. I ask you foreigners to research the risks that Brazil and Argentina are currently experiencing of becoming socialist dictatorships. Currently, President Lula is trying to pass a gag law in Congress to prevent the population from expressing themselves on social networks. the project has no chance of passing the congress, which is mostly right-wing here in Brazil, but the STF, which is the Brazilian supreme court, which mostly has members appointed by the current president Lula, said that it would prevent social networks in Brazil if the project did not pass, in a clear demonstration of his dictatorial interests. Pray for Latin America.
Bravo infiniment .

As a solo female traveler I rented a small apartment in Vedado and would walk daily to the old town or even to Fabrica de Arte at odd hours of the night (accompanied off course), without ever feeling unsafe. Cuban people are very hospitable, very sympathetic and sociable. But what shocked me most is how educated they are, I'm not necessarily talking 'book smart' although yes it's very true for a lot of them, but they have an incredible level of knowledge and wisdom regarding the human condition, philosophy and spirituality as well. This is a country where you’ll learn the true value of 'don't judge a book by its cover' and where you might learn your biggest life lesson from chatting with an elderly sitting on a bench at Parque Central. My best memories from travelling will forever be from visiting Cuba. It thought me how to stop running and looking for things to fulfill me outside of myself. There, I found myself doing things like setting up and alarm to watch the sunrise on the Malecon. I found myself coming to terms with coexisting with the neighbours' rooster cackling at all time of the morning, coexisting with all the other elements of nature which are bigger than we could ever comprehend. I don't want to seem idealistic or make it sound like everything is perfect in Cuba, on the opposite. According to my Canadian eyes, I saw lots of things needing 'fixing'. But above that, what I choose to remember from this magical island is the people, so proud of their culture they will do anything to protect it from becoming just that, history. There are 666 comments before me. What an honour it is from me to share part of my history forever meshed with that of Cuba.
@@lioneldemun6033 I’ve travelled across DR (Bavaro, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris and the capital) four times now. I heard about petty crimes happening there, but thankfully I’ve never had any issue or felt unsafe either, though I have to say I was staying with friends. But yes, do avoid walking very late at night in certain areas there!
Cuba me duele mucho. #NOTRAVELTOCUBA, #SOSCUBA, #CUBAESTADOFALLIDO

My first visit was 20yrs ago, and have been going back regularly up until pandemic. So much has changed, including all my friends having left! Still, Cuba will always be in my heart. Hasta pronto, mi amore.
We have been to Cuba many times and love it. And yes it's like taking a step back in time. But we have learned alot from our trips and talking to the people we have met

I wouldn't want to live there, but having been to Habana once, I'd like to visit again and see more of the country. I enjoyed the people, art and music. Food was OK but not a lot of variety and some things are scarce. We made friends there easily through our contacts. Unlike Mexico and other countries, where a lot of English is spoken, having Spanish skills would help a lot. Interesting history, buildings, and monuments of course.
I watch these videos, always with a tinge of sadness. What would Ernest Hemmingway think of Cuba today? Its a balancing act with tourists - eating all the scarce food as opposed to getting currency into the country.
@@pategan6747 That's an interesting point, though I don't know if it reflects reality. Cuba imports most of its food, and tourism is a great deal of the economy. The contribution has fluctuated with Covid and the recovery. Meal for meal, you have to admit that the population of tourists at any time is minuscule compared to the resident population. I read that some food imports are controlled by the military and ends up in government stores and tourist businesses. I know it is sad situation. The people should not be so poor.
Enjoyed the video ; it provided so much insight. I would visit some day and learn more about the people, history, and culture first hand . Thanks for sharing !👍🏽
Please don't go there. All the money you tourists spends goes to dictators because they are THE ONLY ones with monopoly over tourism activities. Search for pictures of the 'rulers' and you will see them fat as pigs and the population starves in al kind of scarcity. The only beautiful cuba is for tourists 😢 blessings
love the colonial (8:17-8:23) building it is a government shame that there is no maintenance and everything is falling apart... what a beautiful country thank you for your videos....!~

I have been to Cuba around 12 times. All over the island and the people are the nicest in all the Caribbean. I know it's a struggle now to just make a living. I can't wait to return. My best meals have been in the cities off the resorts. When you go, bring lots of dollars for tipping. These people need help to survive.
My fiance is from Havana, lived in Camaguey and is now back in Havana. She tells me all the time about the things I have seen on the video. Will be much better when we can get her out. Very nice video sir.
Muchos saludos
Cuba looks just fine...the old buildings look beautiful, it feels right, the place feels so right and the old cars man, classic. I bet you there are no beggars standing on street corners begging for change; even any homelessness. In NZ, beggars are almost at every traffic light. It is a sad side-effect of a so-called developed nation with a capitalist ideology.
Dear in cuba there are lotsss of beggars. I invite you to experience the comunism ideology with 15 dollars per month (if you're lucky enough) and let's see how long you last.... the opposite to comunism has flaws too but trust me is the less worse... blessings

I wish someday to go to Cuba. I listen to the positive comments not the negative concerning pickpockets. What ever foreign country one goes to, there in every country. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to travel to Cuba. I find this country interesting.👍❤️❤️😘😘😘
Would love to visit such an interesting country but the American workforce has chewed me up and spit me out so not enough funds. Much respect to the people of Cuba who have dealt with sanctions, etc for far too long.
To correct the statement @ 9:55. US citizens can travel to Cuba directly from the US in fact American Airlines has several direct flights a day from Miami and other US carriers fly from FLL and TPA. Delta Air Lines will re-start service next month (April 2023). US citizens cannot explicitly travel for tourism but can go “in support of the Cuban people”. Tourist card required (can be purchased at the gate/day of travel prior to boarding)
Please in the name of God DON'T incentive people travel to Cuba. We need to help Cuban people get rid of the communism system they've been suffering for more than 60 years. Please!!!
I traveled to Cuba and spent three weeks in the country. The United States is becoming worse from the standpoint, that the hard-working poor and middle class are seeing their tax dollars "trickle up" to the wealthy 1% of the nation.
@@WannaWalk Western countries are all vassal states of the USA. At the end of the day, these countries don’t have full freedom and if USA would want certain countries to not fully invest in Cuba those countries would listen. I don’t know what glasses you put on to not see this and to ridiculously ask for proof or sources or whatever just open your eyes and take a look at how 99% of the time western countries align themselves with USAs interests. Want more concrete examples? I’ll give you one. A few months ago The UN assembly adopted a resolution submitted by Russia: "Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance". Obviously you’d expect European countries to vote in favor right? Well guess what USA aren’t fond of Russia for resisting their military expansion so they voted AGAINST. Guess who else voted against? Big majority of Western Europe. I’m not even gonna begin about how the sanctions against Russia actually impact way more Western Europe and every politician knows this but yet still does as daddy usa wishes. Cuba is poor for 2 reasons: 1-(main one) USA 2-almost the only communist country in capitalist world.
U.S. proxies seized cuban goods aboard a Korean ship in the Panama canal. Any ship which has traded with cuba cannot enter an American port for 6 months which makes it very difficult logistically for ships that might trade with Cuba to even make a fuel stop on their way back around. This is very intentional, a seige tactic the u.s. resorted to after backing the bay of pigs invasion failed so miserably
Companies that trade with Cuba can be punished by the US and the US can ban them from entering american markets (that is thousands of times bigger than Cuba's) as well. So no, it is not as simple as "Cuba can trade with anyone other than the US".
Your vlog is very realistic and very fine filmed. How wonderful is the message transmitted by this life, of the Cubans, for the entire world!... The poor are trying to be happy with all that their lives reserve and they can really find happiness! On the opposite, the others-the riches, will not forever be happy, because they want more and more to be happy and finally they will pass their life and nothing will be transported in the "other" world...Thank you "Wanna Walk"!👍👍👍 P.S. These people remind me of the Romanian people between 1955-1965 when I was a child. We were living the same way (without waiting for the food lines)... They are living between the ruined buildings, but every one of them is wearing clean habits-as respecting themselves. It's a "transposition" of the life that I lived in my childhood, into the 21st Century. It is very, very, interesting this wonderful lovely Cuba!!!
Havana is my favorite city! I've been there 3X, with the first 2 times being day trips from Varadero in2015 and 2016. I noticed Havana becoming more vibrant where they started restoring many buildings. The last time in 2017, I stayed there for a week after Hurricane Maria that left much devastation. I started to see the garbage and demolition left on the streets as in this video. I thought it was because of the hurricane. It's very sad that Covid put a halt to Havana's economy. My dream is to visit again, hopefully very soon.
You are delusional. There is no economy in Cuba and there has never been an economy because of communism forbids private industry. It is you favorite city, I guess you love to see us Cubans suffer?
What devastated Havana is comunism for 64 years my brother...nothing new built in 64 years, only new hotels for tourists like you. Common ppl lives are hell. Blessings
17 $ a month, but if you add no rent, no taxes and free medical care (which is quite good - the Cubans' life expectancy is quite high), it becomes hundreds if not thousands... And if talking about times before the revolution - there were some rich streets and lots of those as you show in your vodeos. In fact, Havana was sometimes called "a brothel of Florida". People often forget about dark sides, seeing only casinos and bars for rich people.
Please Google for real pictures of cuban health care. It's all a big lie and propaganda. Doctors that are 'rented' to serve in other countries are privated of their passports and they literally have to ESCAPE like fugitives for a better future.... blessings
Well done sir to nice introduce such a bold n Feshneval looking semi modern cultured country The great struggle Cuba🇨🇺 Havana by God so amazing fantastic lifestyle it's very interesting to watching themselves so really thanks with one icon sir Fiddel Castro ✌ atmosphere into the social lifestyle
KKTTSS, That DESTRUCTION has been for the 64 years of COMMUNIST government. That is given by the aberrant communism, which is hunger, needs, misery, strict control over the population and ruthless repression!!!!!!! The people are NOT to blame for anything, because they live enslaved, robbed, repressed, abused and terrorized by the communist government.
@@milagrossosa9539 No doubt! It was pretty unbelievable when I went there in 1998. Well, now, I don't think it will ever get near to what it used to be. It's really heartbreaking! I feel no hope for the island!

I visited Cuba in 2019 just before Trump put the kabash on cruise lines like Carnival which is what I was on. The country from the short time I was there was a sharp contrast from what I expected. The people were very friendly of course and the tourist stuff abounds. Also the places where we were taken to eat were more abundant in food for us than the people normally gets according to our guide. I truly enjoy watching these behind the scenes videos because we did not have enough time to see this.
It is not destroyed because of time, it's destroyed because of comunism. The dictators only build new hotels for tourists. The rest of the country has barely build up new since 1959 sadly 😥
Thanks Dennis! I won’t recommend street food in Cuba. They don’t have refrigerators or any other hygienic way of manipulate food. I would only buy fruits or some freshly cooked product. Gastronomic stores are very limited but acceptable. Basically, common sense.
I would say only eat fruit you can peel as well. We got deathly sick for the first few days we were there, we think it was from tomatoes washed in tap water at a nice-looking restaurant.

I was just in Havana for the first time last month. I stayed for four days. I enjoyed my stay. What I did not enjoy, however, was lack of catalytic converters on the vehicles on the road. They are non-existent. It was something I didn't think of before I arrived. The exhaust fumes from the vehicles are choking and gave me a headache more than once. I do understand why they don't exist there given there circumstances but just be prepared to inhale those fumes though constantly if you visit
Looks many many many times better than Portland Oregon and Kensington Avenue PA. and many more . I see wonderful people living wonderful lives. They obviously have mutual respect for each other and their city. Also all the custom cars sound and look great.

I have been to Cuba and I love the island, and especially love the Cuban people. They are extremely friendly, outgoing and fun loving. I am very sad about the terrible condition of the island in recent years. The Cubans somehow figure out ways to work around it. I have subscribed to many Cubans in Cuba that keep updated RUclips vlogs of their lives. They tell it like it is. But, no matter what, I still say Americans should go there and you will have a great time.
The Cubans doesn't 'figure out' Cubans people literally SURVIVE every day looking for something to eat surrounded by all kinds of scarcity. Cuba is hunger games in real life. Trust me. Blessings
Forgot to say extremely safe country for tourists . That is important to me. Many South or Central American and Caribbean destinations you are warned not to leave hotel except on organised excursion. I hate that .
The country has plenty of potential. If I return for a visit to Cuba, I will visit the countryside (places like Vinales) and provincial cities like Trinidad. Havana is downright depressing, with filthy streets littered with garbage, crumbling buildings everywhere, disgusting street food, and non-stop touts trying to scam tourists in Old Havana. I visited last year, and realized to what extent the Cuban economy depends on tourism and the hard currency that it brings in. All of that dried up during Covid when it was impossible for tourists to enter the country. Some of the commenters praising free rent, free healthcare and all the other free stuff have clearly not been there. The hospitals have zero medical supplies, and the pharmacies have bare shelves. Cuba is experiencing a high level of inflation (just like the US), while the Cuban Government has not increased wages.
My wife and I went to Varadero Cuba in 2009 for a vacation and many people have asked me what it was like ...in terms of do I recommend it? It really does depend on what a person is looking for. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to lie in the sun, where you feel safe and where the food is okay to eat, then Cuba may work for you. Be prepared however for a few stark realities. There is an extremely limited selection of consumer goods to be found anywhere on the island. Forget about eating steak while you are there...the main foods are locally caught fish, eggs, poultry and pork products. If you use a washroom outside of the resort, keep in mind that toilet paper is a highly priced commodity in Cuba and you will have to pay for a few pieces of it. The beer is really good. Crystal and Buccanero are the main brands. After consuming copious quantities of both I cannot however tell you which is better. Don't count on finding things like batteries for cameras etc. on the island so it is best to bring spares of those types of things. If you are planning to send a postcard home, you will only be able to find BW pictures of either Fidel Castro or Che Guevera. Things you should also pack are a couple of sleeves of Pringles (local junkfood snacks are horrible) and a couple of family packs of gum to include a single pack with your daily tips to your room cleaners.
The street food is truly awful in Cuba, compared to Mexico. It would probably be much better and more varied (not just lousy pizza) if ingredients were more readily available, but basic necessities are in short supply. My experience last year was that of a backpacker in Havana, not the superficial all-inclusive resort experience in Varadero. Although I'm happy to have seen Cuba, I did find Havana to be rather oppressive with the crumbling buildings and neglected infrastructure, filthy streets with piles and rubble and garbage on every corner and non-stop, extremely persistent touts trying to scam me in the touristy areas (especially on Obispo). I hope that the Cuban Government can get their act together to clean up that place because it has tremendous potential for tourism.
gcmgome, However, friend, the Cuban people NEED Foreigners NOT to Travel to Cuba!!!!!! Because? Because while you pay the shameless communist government, he continues to maintain himself; but, and that money is NEVER reverted to the town. Please DO NOT travel to Cuba!!! And tell as many people as you can.
@@musicaquecalma4134 - That is a nonsensical outlook. The only good jobs in Cuba are in the tourist industry and the only way the outside world will know how life is in Cuba is by people going there. Your answer to the country's problems are to deprive the Cuban people of the only decent jobs on the island and their contact with the outside world. How will that solve anything?
@@gcmgome Do you know why I have issued that opinion? Let me explain: unfortunately, I WAS BORN and LIVED all my life under the boot of the scoundrel Fidel Castro Ruz. Another thing, few people in Cuba live from tourism, they represent very little the majority of the people who live on the only and poor salary that the dictatorship pays them. Our people NO longer want the communists, and every Cuban who lives in freedom is trying to fight to get this aberrant plague out of our country; one of the ways is to cut off their business and another is to REPORT THEM like this everywhere. Why don't the people get them out anyway? Because he is imprisoned in a prison-island, they do not have ANY weapons to defend themselves or to attack; In addition, Fidel was so evil that he filled the country with State Security agents, civilian infiltrators in EVERY workplace, schools, universities, public places and blocks of houses where people live. Although most of the people are already opening their eyes and a year ago they took to the streets en masse to ask for freedom.

'NOBODY IS FREE,UNTILL EVERYBODY IS FREE'
#NOTRAVELTOCUBA, #SOSCUBA, #CUBAESTADOFALLIDO

Thanks for the update. Ill update the subtitles with your information 🙂

Cuba is free to trade with hundreds of other nations just not the United States.
The US is willing to punish other nations if they trade with Cuba.
Not really. Canada and UK trade with Cuba. Do you see them ‘punished’ by the US? Provide a source for your affirmation, please.
A few months ago The UN assembly adopted a resolution submitted by Russia: "Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and
related intolerance".
Cuba is poor for 2 reasons:
1-(main one) USA
2-almost the only communist country in capitalist world.
U.S. proxies seized cuban goods aboard a Korean ship in the Panama canal.
I do love the music.....all over in this city!!! Great people!!!
Your vlog is very realistic and very fine filmed. How wonderful is the message transmitted by this life, of the Cubans, for the entire world!... The poor are trying to be happy with all that their lives reserve and they can really find happiness! On the opposite, the others-the riches, will not forever be happy, because they want more and more to be happy and finally they will pass their life and nothing will be transported in the "other" world...Thank you "Wanna Walk"!👍👍👍

Me gusta la vida de cuba. Tranquila. Y. Mucha. Paz

🤣🤣🤣
I would like to visit Cuba , especially for the architecture
I suggest you go as soon as possible before everything turns to ruin. I was in Varadero in 2000.
Looks like you'd better take a hardhat and steel-toe-plated boots.
Looks many many many times better than Portland Oregon and Kensington Avenue PA. and many more . I see wonderful people living wonderful lives. They obviously have mutual respect for each other and their city. Also all the custom cars sound and look great.
Offer any Cuban an American visa and a one-way plane ticket to Portland Oregon to see whether they decline the offer.
love cuba

@ imin2: Can you say... "crickets?"
Bonjour
Gracias a ti amigo
There is no company in the Netherlands that can send goods to Cuba, due to the boycott. You can only send envelopes/documents/letters, to Cuba.
I Love 🇨🇺Cuba
And Cuba loves you too 😌

I have been to Cuba and I love the island, and especially love the Cuban people. They are extremely friendly, outgoing and fun loving. I am very sad about the terrible condition of the island in recent years. The Cubans somehow figure out ways to work around it. I have subscribed to many Cubans in Cuba that keep updated RUclips vlogs of their lives. They tell it like it is. But, no matter what, I still say Americans should go there and you will have a great time.
Beautiful comment 🙂
Morom
You try to said 64 years of misery.
Cuba was one o the most prosperous places in the world. Today things are a little different.
Understatement of the year.
Seriously?😅
There are many beautiful areas of Cuba that you can show besides Havana. Wish you would show them.
It looks great to play baseball at a park. Baseball is big and they loved the game.
Pretty cool comment 🙂
