Hi there, excellent work here! Thanks for sharing. Would you consider making a small bluegill lure that we can use for bass? It could be one-piece with square bill or two pieces as glide bait...
Hey sorry for the late reply. Ive been taking a break from lure making and youtube to work on a project boat I picked up. I want to make some lifelike fish body lures and a bluegill would be pretty cool. Right now im experementing with getting hardbaits to work with a resin printer but ill keep that in mind for the future
I have made a few of these, I put them together just like you. I can get them to track at all. What could I be doing wrong? They all wan to track to the left and they float on the side.
Really sorry to hear that! So the tracking was an issue I did have a little bit of. They tracked fine for normal casting which was the way I tested it. After I posted the video I tried trolling them and at higher speeds they would blow out to the side. I think the lip is a little to big and I need to play with the line tie angle. But it should track normally with a normal retrieve. Mine had no issues with floating on the side though. That sounds like a weight/ ballast issue. This is honestly one of the lures I plan on revisiting. It came out a bit larger than I wanted and I also want to make it more stable. My email is HandCraftedAngling@gmail.com I would be happy to try and help you diagnose whatever is going on if you want to shoot me a message.
Yeah it was slow floating when I made it. I’m changing up the hardbait design from now on to have wider weight holes so people can tune it to their liking.
The file is a 3d model that is meant to be printed on a 3d printer. You would print it out and then assemble it following the steps in the video. I plan on doing a tutorial series on how to get into 3d printing specifically for making fishing lures. I want to have a few more lure designs before I do this so someone could go pick up a 3d printer and have a decent selection of lures to print.
That’s awesome! I would love to see some more trout stufff. That’s my favorite thing to fish for.
Glad you like it. One step ahead of you with the trout
Just found this channel , great stuff, learning lots, keep up the great work
Glad you like it! I have a bunch in the works and I’ll keep cranking them out

It was my fault, I did not have the infill and wall settings set like you specified. Printed a few new ones today. I will test them tomorrow. Thanks
@butchlacour4548 let me know how it works out. Unfortunately especially with small baits the weighting can be kind of difficult to nail down
yeah my ball bearings are one size bigger that 1/4 inch. It sank like a rock. Still playing with it though..

How do you download a file or whatever to make those crank baits?
