Today I’m spraying primer with my R500 LVLP spray gun at my home garage using my Lvlp spray gun I purchased from Summit racing which comes with a 1.7 tip.
I like the home garage videos👍 The 60 gallon compressor I recently got was the best investment this year. And I only paid $350 for it. But I still use the Spray-it a lot of the time for base. Still working fine. I take it apart after each use even tho it was cheap. Look forward to more content here. Especially if it ain't all shake n bake. C'mon U Tube!
Last 5. or 6 min is jumpy. I have a SprayIt gun that came in a kit with 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 tips for anyone looking to buy...it's available that way. Nice work, UPK.
Hey had a question, I got the r500 from watching your videos but had a question about primer. So I used the 1.7 tip for priming but it didn’t atomize correctly tried different settings but kept drying mid air. The primer I was using was high teck High Solids Acrylic Lacquer Primer, my question is what’s the best primer for these lvlp guns that won’t give me headaches lol? Thanks keep up the great work!
I honestly don’t know what the best primer is for lvlp spray guns are but try turning your air pressure down if it’s up high and that usually helps when it’s drying mid air
I love to see your videos, me being a car guy, little by little I've been buying stuff you recommend, what tip size do you recommend for primer is it the 1.7 thanks
Thanks Nelson I really appreciate you watching the videos and it’s best to know what primer you plan on using, some primers are thicker than others and need a larger tip to atomize correctly so you could range from 1.7-2.0 tip depending on what you’re spraying
from what i have found though, the spray it or versions of that only come with a 1.3 and 1.7 unless there are other tips that work with this gun? good information as always UPK
Great info sir....can ask a question...If I can ..is it 2k primer you use or normal primer...and then after you prime...you wet or dry sand sir.. thanks hopefully you can answer sir..."❤️
I use a 2k primer and I also use a lacquer primer depending on what I might be doing, and both methods of sanding works well but I probably do more dry sanding than I do wet sanding when it comes to primer. I hope that helps Mahal!
Good Afternoon, I, am using an R500 lvlp 1.7 tip with Speedokote BLACK Automotive 2.1 Low VOC 2K Urethane Primer Black mixed 4:1 and my prime is very rough, almost sandpaper feeling. I sanded it down and then tried the same with a reducer 4:1:1 with the same results. I'm using the Vevor 6hp compressor. Any ideas?
@@arnoldjohnson4886 I’ve never sprayed that brand, I honestly don’t know what could cause it to give you a rough texture, have you tried spraying at a lower psi
Thank you for your videos. I plan on getting a small 20 gal compressor and I am confused or don't know which gun to get, the Summit or Sprayit? I want to spray primer, base coat, and clear coat with it. Is there such an all in one LVLP gun? I am a newbie
I don’t really have a best primer to use, and it really depends on what tip you’re spraying with, if you have the 1.7 tip you can just about spray any primer but if you’re using the 1.3 tip you might have to go with something that is thin but will build up nice

The SprayIT works even better with a big compressor, RUclips sucks for messing up the video 🤦🏽♂️

Nice job. I got one of those guns as well and it works great. Thanks
It really works good Frank and performs a lot better with a big compressor which I was impressed with!
The glitch is back at the end of the video again.... but good job my man
