This is a very timely video, I've been needing to redesign my storage facility as well so thanks for the inspiration. If you're looking for projects, I'd love to see a big nuclear setup
Hi there. I Just started a new game some days ago, and I really like your storage! Especially how you show the box content. Just for your info, check at 6:25 right side, the 9th conveyor belt is missplaced 😊 ocd kickin‘ in n‘stuff you know 😉 i like your videos, keep on going homebooooiii !
So one of the first changes i made was adding small pillar along the bottom of the blueprint where the conveyor lift sticks out because it creates a clean and easy snapping point when connecting the blueprints together that way you aren't forced to manually connect them using default mode
Would love a tips and tricks video on how to do these massive logistics builds while having to do minimal redesigns during the build. Basically how to go about this efficiently!
Man it would be super sweet if they built-in a sharing system for Blueprints like TerraTech has. That game lets you build things and then take a screenshot of it, and it embeds the blueprint into the PNGs metadata. Then you can share them anywhere online and others can import them directly into the game.
Blueprints are certainly a top level feature addition. Great in so many ways, esp. for allowing content creators a way to add value for their subscribers. But also because I feel like I can invest a lot more time in trying to make things look 'just right' because I won't have to fiddle with placing things in just the right order over and over. I only have to fiddle once and then copy pasta.
"...certainly isn't perfect..." *Me, looking at every single perfectly mirrored set of beltwork in that beast* (O_O) (*_*) The time that would have taken me... Beautiful work!
Watching you struggle with the Mk. 4 into the sinks made me so happy. I see your videos and go "Man, I could never be as good at Satisfactory as TotalXclipse". Then you go and do that, and it humanizes you a little bit.
10:50 I was here for a while. After I got a small computer factory going, I stockpiled chests and chests because I was tearing down my pitiful steel build to make it much bigger. At this point, that factory is gone as well, and while I've now got a 2400 steel per minute factory going, I'm too busy building a 4000 plastic/4000 rubber factory to have built a new computer factory. Good thing I saved so many, but I haven't rebuilt my motor factory yet and I'm starting to run out of those.
Awesome video as always and great designs! In case you weren't aware, the direction of conveyor lifts is taken from the second end placed. Although buggy in blueprints at the moment, floor holes are good for allowing direction to be chosen. If connecting TO a floor hole, you can rotate freely. Ever thought about making an overflow factory? One that accepts variable rate inputs (overflows from storage/other factories) and produces next tier items for a storage facility. Basically a mini mega factory, or set of smaller satellite factories that build all of the items being stored. I only wish we had priority mergers... Using lower-input priority on Industrial Storage Containers is a very cumbersome workaround lol.
I tried twice in my "eSthetics" save to do central storage and I made like three mistakes simultaneously with my latest attempt (put bins too close together, tried to double up on delivery lines, and didn't account for needing lots of sinks rather than just "I'll feed all the overflow into one sink"). At some point when I've got my map-spanning rail network started I'll need to, ugh, try AGAIN in my NEW save.
For someone starting out and playing this for the first time please don't assume you need to go to this effort the first time you make central storage. My advise? when building storage build it on foundations at around a 100 meters up. Even if you download a blueprint your going to need to hook up the lines of items. Unless you are careful and plan ahead and know what items you have not unlocked yet need your going to have a mess of belts running close together which is messy. Having plenty of room below for the belts and lifts gives you room to work with and if you end up stringing line everywhere you can seal it up, out of sight out of mind.
I do wonder... whenever I do a storage I just run all my items together on a single belt, split off with smart splitters so the forward way is always allowing overflow, and left and right splitting off to two containers, cue that down a 7 foundation stretch double sided that totals 40 containers of storage (yet to even need half of them but its easy to expand if I do) then that lines runs into a single indust storage box that flows into two sinks. The container plus the two sinks is designed to handle the flow and allow me a place to dump items to go right into the sink with out cloging the system. Another such drop box is placed before my storage so I can drop stuff off there and it'll cycle back through the storage then if theres extra then it pass's to the sink. Dunno.. just seems to be a lot less confusing to just sushi line all the items onto one belt and split them off then taking up a tun of space, I can not see me running 40 belts just to store items when some may already be mixed coming in.
If you put a floor hole in the middle between the containers if set up right the first row of sinks will line right up with the 1st 3rd 5th 7th etc floor hole then rotate the sinks 180° and they will line up with the 2nd 4th 6th 8th etc floor holes same for the other row of storage units it makes it real clean and compact the sinks line up perfectly you really gotta try it you just need to make sure both floor holes are spaced far enough apart to have 4 rows of sinks 2 for each side
Hey!, i really like this design, so i'm wanting to do kind of the same thing with the entrance but you skipped the entrance building part so do you have maybe a video showing the entire building session?
I like the blueprint. Only thing I would like is an early game version without smart splitters and lower tier belts maybe. I had quartz very far and I ended up building quite big temporary storage witch I'm tearing down now :)
Superb building. I like the modular building of the storage. However, I think the storage containers are wayyy to small. ATM I use large Containers. 3 in a row (behind each other) and 3 large Containers high. This makes for one product 9 large Containers each. I use Tier5 belts (if avail) because you also want to transport overflow later away from the containers quickly to the shredder.
Soo I don't know if this is just my save or all saves in general but if you get blueprints with later tier items that haven't unlocked yet, as long as you have the materials to assemble the blueprint will place.
5:54 - Remember those Minecraft Lets Players who start a new project and after a little "offcam mining" have a double box of diamonds? This is them now😂
I’d like to see more on functionality side and less on aesthetics, you didn’t piece all this together and show it in action. Once you got items coming into storage, how did you get all the items going out of storage to different factories?
That's considering the number of materials overflowing at the same time. If one storage unit for iron sheets, for example, reach more than half of its items/min, the second one will bottleneck it if it reaches the same flow. just a "safe than sorry" unless you are sure it's not gonna bottleneck no matter what point in game you are.
I've just gotten to the railway for the first time. I'm planning on upgrading my power and storage next, but I'm not sure how best to get materials into storage. I was considering a train station for each material coming in, but that seems excessive and ridiculous seeing that you're storage is only using one station. Are you using smart splitters to direct each product to its storage container?
Hello Xclipse, I appreciate your beautiful works here, can I suggest that you add some more depth to the color? Like from bone white combined with darker gray to fill the contrast.
I've litterally just said "OK blueprint for storage is done." And i see you post this vid... god I hope your thousands hours doesn't make me do it again x). Let watch this vid. Vid watched: Nice except décoration tricks nothing to redo
what is great about this game is that the perfect storage facility doesn't exist, is subjective to each person. on mine for example I use a lot less belt and a lot more smart splitter. can't say nothing with the infrastructure itself, I couldn't do better. honestly, I wouldn't even get close to your architecture.
Wouldn’t it be nice if u linked up the elevators where u show the item that is in the storage box next to it into the sinks? I think it would look nice.
Im using the blueprint but its not displaying the item on the front, does the container need to fill up for it to do so? I ended up having to delete and replace the bottom conveyor joining the two containers which then redirected the items to the top conveyor
Why do you need a Sink for every storage container? I'm building a basic storage right now with 28 storage containers. I just have a single input line with a smart splitter going to each storage container with a line coming off the other end of the main input line going to a single Sink. Why would you need so many lines and so many sinks??
@@polarstriker3854 Hi, thanks for the reply. So what happens to the stored items, do they ever get used, or are they just stored for the sake of storage? I only ask as I think I may be over complicating the game for myself. Regards.
There’s a lot of items you need to use manually, such as those needed to build foundations, power poles, walls, windows, miners, assemblers etc. I have a factory for this and it’s an insane number of buildings, the game gets extremely complex and time consuming. I strongly advise using SFtools to design and show you the numbers.

I'm getting sick of games like this that are so heavy with a modding community. The mods make the game better BUT every other day there is a new unavoidable update and oops can't play for a week till all mods are updated . grinds my gears. The way mods and their games interact needs to work differently , like Direct X and Windows/hardware. The mod interface should not need updated every game update . It's annoying. Rant over.
I think the problem is that we have mods before the game is fully released. The Dev team plan to add mod support and have made it easier for modders to fix their builds during updates, but until 1.0 comes and they can put work into dedicated mod support, there's gonna be downtime of mods during updates

I'll keep dying a little inside for now. ;D
The blueprint is linked in the description below, what should we do next in the series?

Put the sign in first, then the elevator?
Also, you can place them on a foundation, raise them up, then delete the sign support
I don’t understand the blue print on satisfactory calculator, can I import them into my game? How does it help me make it?
Yes you can import it into your game
Why do you need a Sink for every storage container? I'm building a basic storage right now with 28 storage containers. The plan was to build a mega factory maxing out 90% of the belts, however the game had something to say about that
I`m curious, how do you get things out of storage to create higher tier items?
The iron plates that go to storage are produced separately from the iron plates used to create, say, reinforced iron plates.
