I definitely need design inspiration. My factories end up being a bunch of machines on an open slab with a messy nest of cables connecting them. I need to make it more visually appealing. My wife is also afraid to start playing Satisfactory because she's hung up on the design aspect of the factories, and she's been watching me sink hours into failed attempts at designs.
@@Strogman25 the video "The Satisfactory roadmap to 1.0" first had a 3:20 min long funny segment that has nothing to do with the actual updates coming to the game. I suggest watching it again, it's not that long.

5:15 Alongside color theory, a good concept that makes colors “look good” (often subliminally) is the 60-30-10 rule. Worth researching as well, you will never un-see it. Thanks for this vid!!
This is by far the best video tutorial I've seen. I couldn't care less about compact build and step by step tutorial but this is fantastic. It shows how to reach the end product of detailing without being a tutorial for a single design. Great, thanks
I have been experimenting with 70's Brutalism, which works well with Satisfactory and I have been quite pleased with the results. Brutalism seemed to have reached its height in the Soviet Union and I have been incorporating the both the Soviet and British style into my builds and I am enjoying the process.
I've been using brutalism too in my builds. It's a style that works well for me and is easy enough. I gotta learn to use blueprints more while keeping builds that play around the terrain.
This is a wonderful guide. A step by step manual with a rough guideline so it's easy to adapt for other ideas. Thanks for sharing all those tips and tricks.
I just put 350+ hours into my first run and didn't even build walls on my factory 😅 These are excellent tips & thank you for putting in the work to share!
Satisfactory is my favorite chill out and build game. I have a lot of fast paced high energy games that just tire you out, but this game just does that special zen for me.
Lovely video. I like the step by step approach, iterative design. Some variations of wall construction, depth, accent features, always nice to see. The accidental blueprint was ok, but how about bigger blueprints, like 3+ components... lower wall left, upper wall left, lower wall right, upper wall right, lower wall seam, upper wall seam, lower door seam, upper window seam, corners, etc. I've got like 40+ bps for this one fuel gen complex so far ... building is fast, except for running out of mats after a few seconds. ;-)
This makes me want to pick up Satisfactory again. Last time my builds were... let's say mostly "open concept". The most creative I got was overlapping triangular pieces to make roof eaves that kind of looked like dragon scales?
May I ask how did you do that super small side nudge to the right with the small metal pillar at 3:30? 🤔 I must be missing something because that seems like magic to me. For me, it always snaps to the right more. Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. For anyone else wondering: you have to hold Ctrl AND press the arrows while in nudge mode to achieve this
It is such a great video! Thank you for making it. If it makes sense to ask - how do you place your miners on foundation so neatly? I tried to replicate it with some nodes, but never managed to get it quite right. :/
So build block, hide block. Got it! the concrete walls etc are super nice but they can't be painted in strong colours at all, dunno if the new material system helps with that.
I don't even use walls in my factory, only foundations. xD All the spaghettis hang around, occasionally pillars will be used to support splitters if the ground is out of space.
Love these videos but would never do that much work. Mostly do open air factories with minimal beams and walls for "structural support." I figure the machinery is designed to easily withstand a remote outdoors environment. The engineers on each of my playthroughs follow the axiom Form Follows Function. I am the only person on the entire planet so there is little need for aesthetics. Note: I do wish the game would incorporate an option for some kind of simplified physics based structural support mechanics.
Form follows function is the easiest way to start off an interesting build. You make box factories, but only small boxes rather than large all-encompassing ones. Then you connect the boxes together along with structural supports, and that will introduce natural depth by default.
Do you have, or would you consider having, a multiplayer server where we can build concepts for you to share on the channel? I use GeForce Now and I'm uncertain if the save file can be shared through there. Would really like to do another save using lessons learned from last play through.
Hello bro, i like so much youre videos and i want to ask u if u want to make a new series with satisfactory but without cuts in vids, and make lives with that new series
Hey! The plan for 1.0 is to start a new lets play. The first livestream will be on release of 1.0 on this channel, but the future livestreams will be on my More Total channel. (the livestreams are currently just on twitch but I will do twitch and youtube for 1.0) The videos on this channel will still be edited but perhaps I'll do a less edited version on the more total channel. We'll see :)
You can nudge by pressing H to lock and build piece in place and using the left right up and down arrows, or you can hold control with a wall ontop of a barrier to build replace it
Well, seeing someone building Design is easy, but then when you try to do it in the game yourself you just sit there and be like, how am I supposed to figure out what to put where so it doesn't just look like someone just put random blocks everywhere.
pfft i dont build box factories... cant be bothered with walls or ceilings! lol i do think im gonna try making design blueprints as this will help me to make them look good without waisting tons of time. im avoiding playing till 1.0 for my last planned start over with story, Sam and finally using them damn spheres lol even though i cant be bothered with design i like these videos, helps to give me ideas and one day might motivate me to decorate lol
Use the nudge mechanics to place it in the centre or place a barrier and replace the barrier with the wall by holding CTRL whilst hovering the wall over the barrier 😉
Hello.I need help with the game Satisfactory.I want to build a fuel power plant. How many refineries can I connect to one oil producer? I need to make fuel for fuel generators. Thanks Peter

Satisfactory Calculator. Also a good place to find map, details on everything, and even some blueprints. You can specify inputs or outputs or both and it will calculate the exact number of machines. Including if you select from alternate recipes. Multiple views, too. I prefer the mind map view; I seem best able to understand and work with that one.
7:07 this part is confusing and poorly explained. You clearly placed some beams to align the right angle, but dont explain how. Been trying to do it like this, but cant figure out how. Wish this video was a proper step by step

yes

You mean 1.0 release? I think Coffee Stain's "Roadmap to 1.0" video said 2026, didn't it?

i could use some more pointers.. i tend to gravitate towards rounded pillars specially for train station ( long rows of pillars and a glass roof.. )
The nudge feature is good for positioning walls/windows/pillars etc to give alternative depth options

how do you clip the pillars into the other objects and not have the graphics freak out?
