    In this video I have some advice on buying a pure powder snowboard. Pure powder snowboards can be a hard decision to buy because of how unique a role they may play in your snowboarding. Over the past few years I've had the opportunity to try some different powder snowboards and want to share what I think make the best powder snowboard. Also tell you about some of the benefits a pure powder snowboard can deliver. If you still have any questions about powder snowboards please leave them in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

    Flow Darwin 162 with a 275mm waist in 4 feet of dry teton powder was a need. It really depends on what you ride but a powder board can float you further to the edges when the other boards sink into the fall line early.

I also ended up setting the stance back about one inch. The TRS is a twin tho, so I'm not sure if I should have. I'm still learning, so I'm not riding switch at all right now.

    how would you compare your YES 420 vs the Nitro ??

    • @AndreasSchubertSnow
      @AndreasSchubertSnow 5 лет назад +4

      the nitro pow is more tapered, and has a swallow tail- so ultimately it will float better. The 420 is slightly stiffer and has a slight amount more tail, giving it a little more to work with when hitting side hits.

  • @mougabo
    @mougabo 5 лет назад

    Good info, I’m actually heading to Japan on January for the first time. I’m going with a complete different profile , will go with the Jones Mind Expander..... si flat rocker and tail. I have tried snowboard with swallow tails and i just prefer my boards to have a more traditional tail, also flat to rocker I find fun, yes they don’t have the snap but they still do the job. So is all preferences and styles of riding. I do feel at some point I want more of a freeride board and then I will go for a directional camber 🤟🏼

    The real question is do you need a park board? I certainly dont. Ive got a Burton Skeleton Key and a Nitro Treehugger to tackle anything I personally would ever want to do on the mountain without any compromises.

    • @alex003paris6
      @alex003paris6 5 лет назад +1

      Wild Outdoor Living Hi ! The Burton Skeleton Key shape looks great ! Can you tell me more about this board. Where it performs the most ? The Treehugger is shorter than the Nitro Pow. Is it not too similar to the Skeleton ?

    • @WildOutdoorLiving
      @WildOutdoorLiving 5 лет назад +1

      Definitely not too similar. My Skeleton Key is a 158 and my Treehugger of course is a 149. The Skeleton Key is a lot more stable, punches through crud harder, it's smoother on Jumps and riding switch is actually pretty normal. It is so smooth, damp and fast. Floats pow super well and carves like a boss. Maybe my favorite ever board, definitely top three.
      The Treehugger is a rediculously good time. Every ride leaves me laughing. It turns super quick, just like Kevin said about the pow but more so. It's for those untracked low angle deep light pow days that hopefully include some nice tight treelines. Itll get through deep heavy tracked pow better than most due to it's big nose and stiff flex but it wont rip through those conditions like a Deep Thinker or Skeleton Key, it just doesnt have the length. Same goes for jumps, you can do it but the tail is just too short to really excel at them like other boards. Because it turns so fast it's also a great board for riding with my kids, still great fun at slow speeds.

    • @WildOutdoorLiving
      @WildOutdoorLiving 5 лет назад +1

      @@alex003paris6 See above reply for more info. The Skeleton Key is an amazing board. Im in love with mine. A lot of the same attributes as the Deep Thinker Kevin has but a bit softer, wider, and set back further. It excels in pow from fresd to chopped, steep to low angle. It's super smooth riding and it is really fast. The second stand out place is carving groomers, it can carve like there's no tomorrow. Great board in the trees as well. Basically the only board I actually need. The rest are just for fun.

    • @alex003paris6
      @alex003paris6 5 лет назад

      Wild Outdoor Living Does it perform also in icy conditions ? Have you ever tried the Lib Tech T Rice Pro ?

    • @WildOutdoorLiving
      @WildOutdoorLiving 5 лет назад +1

      @@alex003paris6 Haven't been on the T Rice yet. The SK has true camber so that definitely helps with ice. I haven't had to ride it on straight icy groomers yet but I have ridden it on very hard groomers and on pow with icy chunder underneath and didn't have any problems, it was better there than my Process Flying V I used to have. We will see how it does on straight ice in the future though.

      I own it, rode it all last year, the nose is huge. Set bindings in the middle. It loves the trees and the pow. You can put your weight in the middle on a 30cm day and the nose just wants to float. Lands switch pretty well and pretty good on a groomer, also loves the spring slush. Hands down my go to board for most days except the icy ones
