There is no better feeling in snowboarding than riding pow! Laying down some deep surfy turns or ripping through the trees with the crew is what it's all about. It's no secret though that ripping through pow takes some skill and the riding technique you use is quite different to riding groomers.
This tutorial is all about showing you how to ride powder, teaching you everything from the basic riding technique to dropping your first drops.

Starting with the foundations is the best way, and this is normally done on-piste as powder and steep terrain can be dangerous so being able to ride proficently before attempting it would be the safest option! When riding in off-piste conditions/powder you should always carry 3 things, Avalanche Transceiver, Probe and Shovel and ride with a buddy with the same gear!

Hello, Thank you very much for your movies.
I wanted to know your opinion on buying a snowboard or renting.
If I'm riding about 2-3 weeks in season. Dose buying a cheap snowboard such as RIDE AGENDA, has any advantage of renting? Thanks.

Yes for sure! buying a good used board is also a great option. Renting is never ideal when riding that much.

Even at good resorts the rental boards are usually pieces of plywood from the 90s!

Nev I noticed that burton custom is one of your favorite boards, do you mind me asking which the camber shape variation you prefer?

I use full camber, flying v is good for learning, but full camber gives you much more control and power when you know how to use it.

I use my custom x for powder. Camber also, but I occasionally use my Lib Tech for powder, since the hybrid profile is probably more suited.
