Yeah, it’s a fun ride that has great pacing. They just can get over that fact that it is not fury 325 it’s Orion.
It’s the best decorated giga ride the theming is fantastic
Also cedar fair wanted to help Carowinds with a big ride but the ride fury was too big and it was already getting a bunch of guests so they won’t make a bigger giga coaster anymore cause they didint want to spend all their money on 1 coaster

Diamondback is my favorite B&M hyper. I got the chance to ride Orion on the 4th of July. Imo, they’re not comparable rides. Both are solid on their own.

I am by no means an expert. Grew up around Kings Island. Was “scared” a few years ago to get on Diamondback, and absolutely “petrified” this weekend to get on Orion. How the hell people can shit all over Orion blows my mind. I was in a complete state of ecstasy on the entire ride… It absolutely hauls ass! I had no time to process wtf was going on… Diamondback has always been boring to me. Hill after hill after hill. I really can’t believe people are complaining over such an enormous, fast, tall, gorgeous, expensive roller coaster! They’re both awesome!
Orion is by far the best coaster at kings island. It’s the only reason I come to kings island. I wouldn’t have gotten a season pass without it. People are complaining because a better taller longer version of it called Fury 325 at 325 feet was built 6 years earlier and people thought Orion would be bigger I never thought that. People don’t understand Fury was built on flat land and the city of Charlotte helped pay for the danm thing. After riding Fury yes it’s definitely way better but Fury is better than every single coaster period I’ve ridden not just Orion. Even still they felt identical in height and it’s hard to tell any difference. Fury is just a lot longer. That is what Orion is compared to which isn’t fair. Orion is only one if 7 coasters with a 300 foot drop or greater and it’s right here and freaking Cincinnati in my backyard. I appreciate the hell out of it.

Orion will basically be a big GP magnet. People will see it and think it's the best just cause it's really tall, when Diamondback is clearly a better coaster.
Imo orion is better if u want to feel speed but dback is better for airtime so for me orion is better but thats my opinion

Diamondback is a good coaster but I would put it at #5 Beast, Banshee, Orion (even in it's mediocrity), Mystic and then Diamondback. I just can't get behind Diamondback given the only thing it does is Floater airtime. My favorite element is hanging at the drop from the front row. After that...meh...up...meh...down....meh...up....meh down.... ooh splash down you cannot see (reach out if you are in the back!)....ride over. Meh.
Orion is smoother, faster, has better airtime, and is taller. What makes diamondback any better? I’ve ridden both and diamondback doesn’t even compare imo
Diamondback is the better rollercoaster in my opinion. I rode Orion yesterday and it wasn't was I was really expecting at all. The only part that was really fun was the first drop, the rest of the ride was fun, but not as fun as the diamondback. The diamondback is floater after floater airtime, and Orion has very few good airtime moments. Both are fun, but the beast is still the best ride at the park.
@C Rizzy the beast is sick bro! What roller coaster has a second drop at an angle like that??? The second it reaches that top speed, you get WHIPPED to the left. It's crazy

Thinking of heading down to KI in Late august. Any tips? Definitely going to orion first, just so the line isn’t too long
Poop in a bucket well there is lockers for Orion so I would say don’t bring a bag or just try to find a bush and hide it. Also if you get a reservation time to ride Orion wait until the end of the reservation so that the line is shorter 😂

In my opinion they're the 2 best coasters in the park. But for me I can't beat the height and speed of Orion, though Diamondback definitely has better elements. Idk for me, Diamondback in my opinion is the best B&M hyper ever built. I can't decide

Like I said a year ago, "Orion is a total waste of money " They should have used a different manufacturer to give a different feeling/ride or just another type of coaster like an Intamin Blitz.
Have u ridden Orion yet, though the layout is simple it is super intense and and it even contests fury’s intensity.
Orion has quality, while Diamondback has quantity.
I don't think the height and length matters on Orion anymore I wish the layout was low to the ground, Orions layout looks uncreative tbh. I'm hopeing a RMC SOB revival will happen and be Vortex's replacement something the coaster enthusiasts will like, I believe DB and Orion was a GP magnet,and MT and Banshee were for the coaster enthusiasts so I think KI want to make everything fair for people so the CE and the GP can enjoy there day and have fun if that makes since.
Ehhhh, no. Fury’s intensity is much greater than Orion’s, whose layout is basically just an upscale B&M hyper while Fury’s low to the ground turns and superior speed and height give it a definitive edge over Orion.

They're both good... Orion however is GREAT.... I rode them both in the back seat several times... and Orion I don't know how many times all over the train... about 3 or 4 weeks ago... and for my money, Orion is the far superior coaster... I honestly don't understand how so many people can believe otherwise... I think a lot of them just need something to be mad at Orion about.. because it's not bigger than Fury... sad...
My only concern with the addition of Orion is what could this possible mean for the future of Diamondback. Orion is basically a taller, faster and longer version of Diamondback. Could this mean that Diamondback may one day become obsolete? It's a small worry and I honestly doubt it will mean anything like that but I still have the same worry with Intimidator at Carowinds now that they have Fury 325 and Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland now that they have Leviathan.
I have ridden Orion and trust me orion and diamondback ride experience is very different so u shouldn’t have to worry
So far Behemoth and Intimidator haven't had any problems with removal. You shouldn't have to worry about Diamondback. Cedar Fair will most likely keep it around since it's arguably better than Orion.
I went to kings island yesterday, I do think Orion will steal some of the show but Diamondback is still a solid coaster with so much airtime. Orion will defiantly take the non-enthusiasts just because it is taller though... But hey, that means there will be less wait time!
Leviathan and Fury are bigger Diamondbacks too enough with this biased complaining they have the same trains same track same angle of decent same lift hills same type of drop look come on

Well something related with the block zones makes the gigas have those large brake runs, especially the B&M ones. I'm not 100% sure about it but I have some idea of it

It’s literally going 91 mph as opposed to Diamondbacks 80. Orion is far and away the supreme coaster of the two.

Why does everyone hate new B&M? People don’t realize the difference between early 2010s and late 2010s. It’s just hard to tell in the povs, but personally, I think Orion is better than Fury 325. More sustained forces and theming.
@Patrick Cadiz I'd rather have a ride 11 seconds shorter than have those eleven seconds feel really forced and completely have lost the sensation of speed

Coaster Velocity Orion dosnt have a wow factor or headline feature/layout... when I get off diamondback I’m still in shock with all the airtime and the long ride time... when I exit millennium force you still feel the pure speed and power of the ride, when u exit I-305 u feel beaten by all the forces...
Orion dosnt have anything it’s truly amazing at and when u pair that with an extremely short ride time it just dosnt stack up.

Orion is underwhelming. Negligible amount of air time . Some laterals but not very intense . It’s just fast with a nice drop. I expected more

I think there is a large chance vortex replacement will be a Dive or Wing. Those are what make money and CF is really buying from B&M at the moment.
Orion blows Diamondback out of the water in every way I don’t understand how a single person could like Diamondback better you have to sit in the back to get in force on Diamondback it crawls over its hills while Orion is blazing through its course and Orion’s first drop is unbelievable

I’m glad to see KI get a Giga but if I knew that was the giga they were getting they should have got a B&M Dive or wing instead. As far as Gigas go I have road Fury, I305, Millennium Force and Orion. Orion just doesn’t compare to the other three. Orion doesn’t really set its self apart from Diamond Back. That’s why I would have rather had a Dive or a Wing. How would a dive with a 300ft drop have been? That would have been awesome.
I think thats all mental... because Orion isn't as tall as say "Fury 325"...... the drop is STILL 300 feet folks... and honestly, I think Orion takes Millenium force's milk money.

@@JJJJ-he8bz have you seen the videos of the Giga Knotts Berry farm is getting? Cedar Fair mailed it in on Orion. People tried to justify saying it was the cost of steel. Steel hasn’t went down in price. I bet Knotts Berrys Giga is going to be 55 to 60 million. It’s a monster.

They done went and messed this up! Orion is too fast to be that short of a ride. The more I watch, the more disappointed I get. Just the bare height for a giga. Just the bare minimum amount of track. Just the bare minimum number of features to make it just barely entertaining enough.
Just barely a worthwhile coaster.... Yes I will enjoy riding it when I brave the current environment, but damn King's Island and Cedar Fair just did the bare minimums on Orion. Unfortunate.
