    Just watched your video as ive just had a 225 Audi TT traded in and i was getting little to no boost and i could hear air leaking.Found a massive split where TIP attaches to turbo.Also one of the breather pipes was crushed at a 90 degree bend.God knows who did that but theyre dangerous to be let loose on a TT.Good video and now i want an bigger diameter TIP pipe as it definitely improves performance.They do this mod on Smart for twos using Roadster TIP pipes.

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 года назад

      Ahh man sorry to hear about the misfortune with the TT but at least there is an excuse to get an upgrade fitted. They do the badger5 TIP for the TT I believe as its got the BAM engine so its a much better platform. So maybe that person did some bad DIY with the car, are you a car salesman then? So on Smart fortwo they use the TIP from the Roadster model and it is larger? Thats cool

    Hi Naz, thank you so much for making these really clear videos on your MK4. They help me a lot with my A3 1.8t which is based on the same platform. I’m planning on doing the same oversize tip and ram air filter this weekend. To be honest I was dreading it but not so much now after watching how you did it. I will be getting some silicone grease as you suggested and unbolting that pipe. Love the channel mate and thanks again for great content.

      Hi mate, sounds good to me!! Glad to hear you are giving it a go yourself. Failed to mention in the video that the TIP requires a little trimming at the MAF end, but you will have to work that out once it's on. Unfortunately, doing the engine bay deletes makes the area around the turbo so much more accessible but it's quite a big job first time around. You should be fine getting the TIP done, my friend had a Leon and he found it easy.

      *SPOOLIN UP* it took a few hours to do all 3 what I did due to some of the guides on RUclips aren’t the best, just make sure you have the combi valve blanking plate ready to go, some also say about getting resistors for the spare plugs what are left over but some say you don’t need them, personal preference I guess, another thing what I’ve wanted to do was replace all the vacuum lines for upgraded ones but there is absolutely nothing on it so might be worth doing research into that too for another video idea

    This vid is a godsend lol, I'll be doing this mod this weekend. I bought the Forge (Silicone Intake Hose for Audi, VW, SEAT, and Skoda 1.8T - MGOLFIND).
    As soon as you mentioned some of these hoses only fit onto a k04 got me a bit scared now.

      Hey man, you should be fine with that Forge one as I remember that being an option. It's only the Badger5 one I think that is made for the KO4 on BAM engines.

Will be getting silicone grease tomorrow, and might try dipping the corner in hot water like you did. @@SPOOLINUP did it! Holy cow was a tough job. Had to cut off around 2-3cm of pipe at the bottom and also at the top. Didn't need a couple for the MAF, it fit direct 70mm to 70mm. I trimmed the hockey puck pipe a little and I think a tiny thin piece mightve fell in the pipe 😢.. took it on a test drive no lights, no smoke, everything seems fine, more response, feels like more torque/power/responsive. Will see how things go over the next few weeks! That jubile clip down at the turbo end was a knightmare to get on too 🤣

      I was scared to cut mine man as I didn't want to make a mistake. It is so weird that these things can be so difficult to fit. That is nothing thing I was scared of any bits falling in and down but that little piece is probably sitting somewhere in a small bit of oil your intercooler not causing any harm 🤣 dont worry. I'm glad you noticed a difference as its supposed to be one of the most important modifications to make. That jubilee clip at the bottom was a nightmare to do just the right amount so the pipe didn't slide off.

      If you have a 70mm MAF I would just stick with the turbo inlet pipe that is recommended for the KO3s. There are two, there is a normal slim one and an oversized one. There isnt much points in getting the 80mm one because it's literally only wider at the MAF end and you have to reduce it down to 70mm anyway so doesnt even make a difference.

      yeah, what made it easy on the 225 tt was the k04 .....and the maf was already 80mm. plus there seemed to be more room at the back end there, and all was done from above...glad it gave you the result you were after..

      @@anthonynewcome128 Yes I did see that it was a lot easier on the BAM and also there were a few more options on the manufacturer. I also compared the hose for the AUQ and the AUM, only the neck at the top is bigger so there is no point, the hose down towards the turbo is the same size. Also required cutting at MAF end which was annoying 🤣 thanks mate I appreciate what you are saying 👍🏽
