Agnes obel music makes me feel like I'm in the back of an ambulance seeing the last moments of my life in iridescent flashes, and by that I mean I love her music.
While I like many different kinds of music (from classical to rock to ambient and more), Agnes Obel's music is transformative and hypnotic. It's also refreshing that she is humble in her performances, letting the music speak without a lot of flash. Thank you, Agnes, for bringing beauty to the world.
Just signed up for tickets to see Agnes next September in Cambridge UK. Long time to wait but I've been waiting so much longer for a chance to share a space and an evening with this ethereally beautiful woman, So a year will pass quickly, time will stand still and I will be left with a lifetime of memories. Well worth it!
a dropped a like based purely on sonic innovation. the whistling twirling sound from the cello player at the end of the first song. the perfect mimicry of the sound of rattling bones. The raw vocal talent here in addition to that imaginative sound creation really impressed me
Wow, what an amazing atmospheric and mesmerising performance, really enjoyed listening too and watching this performance . Musicianship at it finest ✊🏽
Thank you! I am as well! Recommend by other Witches! I think I maybe able to watch on someone else’s iTunes? Where is she from? All so talented, flawless!
@@stephanieb6578 This video, even though an NPR production, is the one that's on iTunes. She may have more on iTunes but there's a lot here on RUclips. She's Scandinavian, Norway maybe? I think she lives in Germany...if not, she's there a lot. It's been a while since I wrote that comment and had read all about her. She's apparently very popular in Europe. All I can say is, her music and her voice/singing style is unique to me and simply EPIC!
It is getting better, and I like it. Listening to more of her and others music together as people like her and I mean this among all but the one way I noticed that good musicians from there ways is agreed upon that they all have an understanding from listening to what they wrote or rearranged and composed with variations on themes is where I see the difference is you don't rank these minds that create different sounds while using different people as opposed to having the same people travel with you everywhere you go and it sounds like a negative but it is not, from what I read. Everything has good and bad while these ladies and all musicians have tremendous heart and soul with a blend of memory that is not my loss but definitely again when you love the voice. I learned to appreciate that feeling more many years in opera vignettes in an octagonal stone round domed, pillared place for the performing arts. It had to be among my top five actual professional people in ballet and opera and I have yet to see and hear ballet that is considered internationally a company that enters the ways to better the patrons of these forms of performing arts. I sense the prideful nature that is a given and you can tell but not for me as I have seen the mixed continents and any countries dancers who focus on this and it is like a name in from the Russian Gallet Ballet while this is and has been first in mind but not ranking it. I don't feel that is at all what I wish to convey nor do you. I'm writing for the sake of the widow's son and that means for humanity no different than feminism evidenced by two favorite entertainer activists have he same answer at end of their show yet they do have a conviction for something better yet it circulates the blood more. I don't know but what I feel.
Let me be very Clear - Agens Obel & TinyDesk are F*****G great. If you are interested in Agnes they have many fantastic concerts to enjoy, and as for TinyDesk, i mean, come on, they are MASTERS. This TinyDesk Agnes Session dose not nearly speak to how good Agnes can be. It might be the first time i saw an artist on tinydesk and then fonud better after searching. Tiny DeskILoveYouForever
Reminds me of Imogen Heap a little bit. I like this, it's mixed well. Elements of Mother Falcon's imagination and tone. I could see this being on a movie soundtrack.

I agree I would be quite happy to die to this she's amazingly talented and beautiful x
Poetic
Incredible
Agnes Obel's music is so beautiful it actually hurts
Ha, a minute before I came here to this video I wrote exactly that about my favorite song of her's ("Familiar").
Saw her play in a small church in my small canadian uni town...it was mindblowing and so is this small show
That must of been quite the experience. Very envious right now...:)
@@Baphometrose yeah im wig snatching too

I LOVE Agnes, but all these women are very talented.
With no reverb on voice channel it’s easier to realize what an amazing singer she is. My favorite artist ever.
Why does Agnes look like a Roman sculpture?? Her face is so defined and flawless....
Eve McEntire ethnic Danes tend to have very defined facial features, tall cheek bones, sharp jaw line etc.
For breaking through ice
can she be?
Made of stone, of stone
hes a reborn goddess of music

Some of the coolest songwriter/musicians on Earth have scratched their names into that desk.

Her music is just magic . Brings me to a place of joy and peace.
So underrated, she deserves more, is beautiful.

They all have wonderful voices. 11:14 is magical.
The communication between them all on Stone is amazing.
i dunno why i am appreciating Agnes and the band so much - it touches me where no-one's looking at.
My god!!! This is why I love music and I love life.
I didn't realize I live along side actual Angels. They sound so beautiful together. This sound gives me hope in humanity. 💟
Woah! Agnes Obel at NPR! YES!
Always such nice comments on NPR's channel

happy to finally see Phoebe made it in the music industry as a backing vocalist
I wish they'd allow her to show some of her classic moves on guitar though. She's created some amazing chords ;D
Smelly cat, smelly cat..
Rangga Suryagading i thought you meant the leading singer, but then I saw the other girl cx #SmellyCat
Don't forget about Zooey Deschanel...
Were you the guy that always walked by in the background at Central Perk? 'Cause that's what this feels like.
Lying in my boat looking at the sky, the water rocks me and my mind fades. These girls are mermaids bewitching sailors with their songs.
I have been waiting for so long... It's like a dream becoming true !! ==> Agnes Obel on NPR !!!!!
Ditto, I was hoping for the day they'd finally bring Agnes in
I had the great pleasure to see Agnes Obel last night at the start of her new Tour in Dortmund, Germany.
Had a great night

Esse quarteto de vozes é a coisa mais linda que já ouvi , a sonoridade que elas fazem é singular e única. Agnes obel e banda , sincronidade pura.

I was expecting her to play Riverside (that song's perfect). Great concert so far tho
this is once again...unbelievable! Great as everything that Agnes has created.
I liked the first song the best because the piano was so good. Thanks girls
4.49 A beautiful smile from Agnes. Waited a long time for that and it was well worth it.
such inventive and creative music, it warmed my heart and lightened me up.
I can't be the only one who noticed Agnes has a vampiric lover right? Maybe that's what makes her so amazing. ;)

Finally, the right thumbnail
Enya + Bjork's musical love child. Absolutely lovely albums, I often listen to any of them at night before bed, pure magic as I approach sleep.
Fascinating, astounding, shifted me soul
baffles me why this does not have millions of views but okay.
Didn't know Nick Cave and Enya had a daughter........cool stuff;)
s sw think she can be compared to her fellow scandinavians like Ane Brun, Anna von Hausswolff, Rebekka Karijord, Susanne Sundfør, etc.
@@RayasNegroOvejas Sounds like I've got some homework.
I love the play with harmonies & rhythms, it’s a bit like an incantation
Best of the best ❤
Her music makes me feel so much. I don't even know if I can explain it.
How unique! I love the presentation, I look forward to hearing her studio works.
Her music will always feel like fall to me
That's a very Danny Elfman quality to me, I can definitely hear it in her arrangements.
Oh Agnes, you're so lovely
