You cannot 'add' apps, you can only select the apps they are showing you. Pointless

Ok this I do know about, but there are plenty of apps I have installed, but they don't appear on the launcher list such as Spotify, iHeartRadio, etc. Any idea how to add these so they appear on the list? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply. U probably sorted by now. It should work. But go to app info & make sure u uncheck remove permissions if app is not used. Then refresh android auto. Should then show up in apps after.
So if I am understanding correctly.... out of the 3.5 million apps out there, only about 20 work with android auto?..... andoid auto is fairly useless then? I wish I could add other GPS applications to it (we use an RV specific one so we don't hit low bridges).

this video is not helpful at all. I need to see how to add an app. I used to have google chat in my customize launcher. Now I don't see it at all. So I wanted to see how I can add it back so I see it. I don't even see it anymore to check or uncheck. You stid not show this step

I know how to add the apps that are published to android Auto. I want to add the apps that are NOT published to Android Auto. Currently the only way I know to get it done is using Magic Box 2.0 but I really don't want to attach an appliance with possible sketchy security issues to my vehicle. I would prefer just to have my phone connected to my head unit and not an appliance in the middle.

Nope this is not what people are asking.
They want to know why ALL their Apps are NOT showing up in the list you so carefully showed. Settings, General, Customize ... then you see a LIMITED list, not ALL the apps we have. Why can we not add ALL the Apps we have on our phones etc ??
Why call something Android Auto and then not let us Use the Android apps we have ?
