Those "The Heart She Holler" ones are such a throwback to Summer 2013, I remember the uproar on the Adult Swim subreddit when it was airing. The fact the the jumpscares "evolved" overtime, as the new series got closer too, it went from quick cuts to Meemaw screaming at the beginning to having her laughing and spitting blood at the screen for 30 seconds as the date got closer.
I remember talking to friends on Xbox Live about it and because we had no idea what it was, we all were a bit worried if the jumpsare bumpers were also on other channels since they were in between Family Guy and Cleveland Show bumpers too hahaha
All I'm gonna say is, imagine falling asleep in front of your TV and waking up her laughing like that.
RUclipsrs def need to cover this topic more bc most of the time they go over the same bumps as each other, when there are a ton more lesser known creepy bumps. I think more digging needs to be done

Nothing scared me from this, but The Dawn is Your Enemy really resonated with me. I was working for the government far away from home in my early 20s and had insomnia. This guy would come on and remind me that every day that went by was another day I didn't have my youth, another day my friends back home got to be free loving college kids while I worked 10 hour days in some windowless office. I have luckily since lost that bitterness, and now enjoy the simplicities of life with out worrying about what others are doing or have. Still, that song and that image bring me to a silent, cold, empty time in my life where nothing would stop the death march of time.
I remember seeing the first adult swim bumper “all kids out of the pool” as a kid. I remember feeling the exact same amount of confusion and anxiety a 5 y/o would’ve experienced after Cartoon Network had signed off
One bumper that spooked me shitless as a kid was fittingly animated by claymation horror artist Lee Hardcastle.
It had a rat going into a mysterious machine, that later was revealed to be a meatgrinder as you see a vise spin and the rat getting ground up into the AS logo.
I always stayed away from Adult Swim as a kid. I was horrified of everything and anything AS, except stuff like Rick and Morty and Loiter Squad, which I watched a lot with my brother growing up back when Hulu was the home of AS content.
Ironic how the show that terrified me the most, Superjail, actually became one of my all-time favorites a whole decade later.
I'd love to see a part two to this one. One set of bumps in particular that spooked the hell outta me was during the Lil_head ARG period.
Now, Imagine coming home from work at like 12 midnight and trying to settle down in the dark to some Rick and Morty and a bump comes on with some horrifying music (sour piano notes and a voice that sounds like it's saying either 'I'm going to cry' or 'I'll never cry' with a very cryptic message that fades in and out like an alien transmission.
Needless to say, scared me the death the first time I saw it. If interested, pretty sure it was the later half of that ARG, but I could be wrong.
I once heard that Adult Swim purposely commissioned/instructed artists to make the bumpers creepy in an effort to scare off younger viewers from watching the shows.
Those of us who stuck through it knew the creepy ass bumpers were just the dragon guarding the gold.
One "bump" ( i don't think you could consider it a bump) i get chills seeing is when I'm watching Marathons in the adult swim app. Between episodes theres this creepy still shot of a puppet holding a sign saying intermission. Love your content sm btw! Your one of my favorites who cover Adult Swim!
Anyone remember this bumper of a little girl looking at a mirror brushing her hair then her reflection gets cuts and then it cuts to her pointing at the mirror saying "Adult swim"
And I remember back in the day there was a website AS was advertising and there was this frightening ad that scared me as a kid where it was the 7 ate 9 joke but they were puppets and they were in a living room where it was story and night time and the number 6 or 10 was hiding behind a couch as 7 was eating the number 9 and had a demented look too him

And what’s weird is I never remembered the first entry ever airing on AS. And I was a kid who’d wake up for the final parts of AS. I do remember however waking up to Inyuasha which at the time was the ending of Adult Swim before the morning Cartoons hit. It’ll play that, air ending bumpers with the sun rising and showing a pool that said adults only before showing the CN characters all getting up or the announcement saying good morning did you miss us?

Some notable bumps I could see for part 2 are the ones animated by Cyriak and the still images with just music playing; those always intrigued but unnerved me a bit.

I remember seeing dawn is your enemy bump and being reminded that i had to go back to my crappy third shift job. Thank God I no longer work third shift.
And great timing since basically every April 1 Adult Swim likes to treat us with a video like the special broadcast 2022 video with pibby tossed in and glitches thrown in as well. Hopefully Adult Swim provides us with some bangers for this years April Fools.

Im not sure if anyone is able to help… but there’s this bumper I’ve been trying to find for yours and have had no luck. It’s a bumper that’s a few seconds long, it’s claymation and it has to do with a priest praying with two other ladies; hands held and just looking up. And then suddenly the priests eye bleed and the AS logo shows up and the bumper ends. Crazy stuff but I can’t find it
NGL, that full Heart, She Holler bump kinda almost reminds me of The Evil Dead movies for whatever reason. I think it’s because it also features a weird, decrepit woman laughing maniacally lol
Imo the scariest bump i ever saw was probably the llama with one eye bumps. These were extremely scary which is saying something because i never got scared by the other bumps.
I remember a weird one where a girl would be walking like like spider or something bumping her head on the ground back and fourth with the video sped up and a weird ass song playing shit traumatized me 😂 always think about it till this day was weird asf but can’t seem to find it

My most scary one? Well,technically...it isn't any of these. The worst one was when they blasted a fricking airhorn at 3am. I hated those bumpers. Had to mute my TV when they came on.
