Pawns were the reason why i liked Dragon's Dogma. You create your own pawn and that pawn will learn tactics and weaknesses of other monster. When people hire your pawn all that knowledge is known to that pawn on your game. So if you never faced a troll before, it will yell out "tis weak to fire!" Its great!
What if somebody wanted to make a bunch of beautiful women as their pawns? Hypothetically speaking of course 🥸
@@FonzChannelyou can only create one pawn for yourself and hire 2 separate pawns from people online. Do with this information as you want👨🦯
@@FonzChannel What if? That's pretty much all I've been doing with the character creator, lmfao
@@FonzChannel what if...? You serious? 😂
The first DD was better than Elden Ring, so I’m sure this will be too.

This is so true! I can a play a full sunday with the right game and feels like 3 hours

@@ATLsF1N3ST91 I don’t have an issue with how they did it or anything. I just know if it was me, I would wish it lasted longer lol
Especially with character creation which usually takes a few hours testing the best build for the first playthrough
When will yall realize that this nigga does not know gaming like that 😂…This is probably a cool game but AINT NO WAY IN HELL IT WILL EVER BE BETTER OR MORE POPULAR THAN ELDEN RING! Plus SotET expansion is 2.5 months away and will practically make everyone forget about DD2. Why do you think they put this out uncapped at 30 fps before May? Capcom isn’t even gonna wanna go toe to toe with that giant in the same release month. STOP THE CLICKBAIT 😂😂
To clarify, you do NOT NEED TO STUN a giant enemy to climb on them. I don't really know why he said that, but you can climb on a giant enemy whenever you want. Maybe he meant it's just easier when they're stunned?
Yeah. I climbed on everything. Even the dragon that I fought.
And I’m pretty sure there is lock on
He says a lot of strange things in the video, it seems he barely paid attention to anything.
@@ItsAndOddWorldthe fact that he didnt know these things obviously means the game doesn’t tell you. Because I’ve heard multiple reviews say this. Game doesn’t tell you where to go or help you much. I enjoy those type of games but even Elden ring told you how to lock on, and explained mechanics. Hopefully it’s there.
@ESPLTD782 DD2 doesn't have lock on. Only a soft lock for some attacks, like the original as it should be.

@@juliustaylor9920 Based on the gameplay we've seen it definitely won't be as good as Elden Ring, though I may get it still as it looks really good. If a game were to release and be able to "shit on" Elden Ring, literally everybody would be playing it forever and it'd be all over the internet constantly. Elden Ring won most game of the year awards in history for a reason. (Search up which game has won the most game of the year awards.) think of any game. ANY game. No matter what, from rdr2 to the last of us to baldur's gate 3, no game in existence has beat the amount of game of the year awards that Elden Ring has won.

@@juliustaylor9920 Bro , no game can just "shit on" Elden Ring.😅
In the first game you could just eat mushrooms mid combat to refill stamina so as long as you stock up on curatives you'll be good
Yeah I was constantly managing weight with my potent greenwarish and large mushrooms. Hardly used any other healing item lol.
Hardcore gamers like myself don't need to refill stamina 😎
I always hated this because I had to pause to eat mushrooms which was annoying. Turns out after 50+ hours of gameplay I found out I could hotley items. 🤦
Such a nice quality of life gameplay element! It's not this artificial difficulty like fromsoft flasks, more akin to ratchet and clank weapon wheel pausing the game to allow a breather.

Well…even in numbers a weakling is a weakling still…so it probably doesn’t matter either way.
The 22nd can't come fast enough bro I can't wait to play this.
Just for the people who did not play the first DD game, there was fast travel thru a system where you placed these crystal near a portal which became waypoints that allowed you to fast travel. Not saying this one will have it too but the original game did.
They confirmed this will have it aswell
@@lconker4043 You can see a port crystal in a Gryphons Nest.
@@lconker4043fr? I was wondering if portcrystals were gonna make a return.
You didn't need to place them near a portal. There is no such thing as a portal or whatever you are talking about. You could place them anywhere in the open world and yes it's confirmed that they are still in the game.
There isn’t an infinite ferrystone though and regular ones are more expensive.
I understand your point with the no lock on, but I think if it did have a lock on, it would take away from one of your most positive points, that being that the game makes you feel like a total badass. If you were just given a big circle on weak points, it would become much more of a button presser, rather than a more tactical and grounded combat system. Just my take. It’s all personal preference.
I agree. Imho lock-on removes a lot of the fun since it outsources a major part of gameplay.
I feel like adding a lock on system for this game would equal to adding a lock system for the Arkham games
I wish Archer locked on. Magic Archer was sooooo much better in the original because of that.
@@Dandoskyballer me personally I’ve always preferred manual aim for anything that requires aiming. Gives me more control. I feel unimmersed when the game targets for me.
Elden ring has lock on but requires way more skill than DD. Lock on doesn't trivialise anything, it's just a quality of life feature.

I'm glad to hear the good impression for DD2. I was a huge fan of the first one and followed it before it even came out (I was like 13 at the time) and I've been wanting a sequel forever.
So dam hyped for this game man i found out the first game was only 25% finished so now that we have a fully realized vision I can see they were cooking
Great video TBH. I was already excited to play this, but after watching your video. YESSIR! Magick archer was a class in the 1st game, but there's so many different classes that are interesting. I definitely wanna try out the different ones and see what I wanna go with. Magick archer is up there to main.
One thing i i wish is they keep u in one class and advanced class each gameplay. Cause swapping from warrior to sorcerer removes the realism for me personally
I don't know if a comparison to Elden Ring is really fitting. DDogma is more like Lord of the Rings where Frodo, Sam and the rest go on a journey through middle earth. With camping, second breakfast and all. Have you seen the cooking cutscenes in DDogma 2? Damn.
Fantasy open world game like Lord of the Rings? Sign me up!!!
What about elevenses?
It's an open world rpg. Just because DD2 has better features, better combat, better story presentation, and character interaction does not mean it shouldn't be compared to Elden Ring.

Yall got 😂like a month and then he’s gonna have to abandon that 💩 he doesn’t have the time nor is he ever gonna compete a full 100% play through of a game 4 times larger than the first one with less traversal than Skyrim. After 30 hours he’ll put it down and never stream it again
My hopes for this game
-I think this is the case, but better item system having to open a menu in the first game to do everything was repetitive having a quick select hotbar will make things better
-The Pawns dialogue isn't too chatty in Dark Arisen the pawns would speak every second and repeat the same dialogue over and over. Having the option to edit the chattiness will be really good
-Pawn temperaments can still be changed. In dark arisen I like having the pawns ask me how they want to adress me (agressive but cooperative, or kind and respectful it added a lot of charm and character)
-A system for online pawns in the overworld that don't look mutated. In the first game you could see pawns that look weird and unimersive to the world having something to block them would be nice
-Ferrystones not so much reliable fast travel but a consumable teleport would be cool and immersive like in the first game (without the eternal ferrystone)
-Keep the ability to throw pawns off cliffs and into boulders (self explanatory)
-More findable armor and weapons than in the first game
1.idk
2. idk
3.i am pretty sure is in the game just like the first but idk
4.probably not
5.ferrystones are in the game
6.being able to pick up and throw pawns is still in the game.

Please tell me how the fps felt , did it felt like your attack animations were as smooth as elden ring (if playing both on ps5 ) ?
No lock on... Thats your issue?
Thats actually awesome. That was one of the things i loved about the first one and framerate has never bothered me in this game even in the first one. Good to hear. 👍
That's a huge issue. I starting playing DD and not being able to roll and lock on made combat feel really clunky next to Elden Ring

Listen. I love Elden Ring and i love Dragon's Dogma, but don't do that. Don't do that click baity crap where you try to start beef over another franchise by saying a unreleased game is better just to get people to argue and talk about your video. Both games will be and are great and the last thing Dragon's Dogma community needs after being in the back burner for a decade and finally being the focus for once is a unnecessary toxic turf battle between grungy fan boys on release. I want this community to flourish beautifully, modestly and gracefully now that it's gotten what it wanted. Eye's on the game.
Stop it. Please?
facts, I love both but completely 2 different games with its own charm, I played so much DD and Elden ring that you can't really say which one is better, like 2 completely different genre, different sense of satisfaction from both games, I had to give this video a thumbs down.
@@JETER911 Exactly, i known since the announcement of the elden ring dlc that this would happen even if it's far off. They're very different games and honestly the communities should be together, not fighting and bickering. I don't care which is better i enjoy them both.

Left the stream real quick to peep!
Open-world games need a variety of content similar to Elden Ring. Wherever you go, you stumble upon a quest, trap, or treasure.
That Lead Designer is right, you need to encourage exploration. Although, fast travel is a necessity.
I feel that if done right, fast travel would be more of a convenient tool than something that is used because of boredom of the sandbox. Marvel's Spider-man is an excellent example of this.
This is why FF Rebirth is so boring to me, no variety in its exploration.
Fast travel is not a necessity.
And FFXVI! @@Mohgenstein
The Gothic games are the gold standard of open world fantasy, and they really don't use fast travel. You have to find special magic runes to cast travel spells to specific locations.
Saying this is better than Elden Ring is top tier delusion😂

@@domsantiago5444Even if that were the case Elden Ring is vastly superior in basically every other aspect.
Well, DD2 and Elden Ring are two completely different games. They're not supposed to be compared with one another.
I think a lot of people missed it but there is fast travel in DD2 just like in the first one you have Ferrystones that teleport you to port crystals but, there is also traveling in an ox cart which offers a balance of speed and exploration since you can still be attacked while riding. Also pawns aren't slaves, they literally don't have free will so they just wander around without the Arisen to give them direction.
I love the ferrystone system. They're hard limited (I believe even between new game??). But you can put them wherever you want them.
That Chimera @5:40 is awesome! I used to draw that thing when I was 12 years old after seeing it in a book.. This game looks REALLY cool.
I'm so sick of my fellow old ppl complaining about game time.
You don't have to finish the game in 3 months.
Personally, I like to savor a good open world game. It's great to just get lost in the game world and find stuff.
Nice try, but I think "Elden Ring Killer" would've been more click-baity.
I think this is the best preview/summary of DD2 I've seen so far. Glad I found it as well as this channel for things in the future!
You make your own fast travel points using items called port crystals. So it's kinda dynamic fast travel in a way. Still limited though cause of the small amount of Ferrystones.
I think I need to take this video with a grain of salt...
This aged well, unsubbed and disliked.
Were you able to use the parry mechanic any? If so, can you name a game that it closely resembles in feel?
I'm pretty hyped for Dragons Dogma 2 and your content is really good, informative and funny 👍😂
Why you lie my dude? Your footage got corrupted you say? Yeah... No, Capcom wouldn't let you record or use your own video. Good video, but now I have trust issue with you and taking everything with a grain of salt.
Its like elden ring except your a fantasy person in a fantasy world instead of just a regular guy in a fantasy world lol.
Yeah that’s one thing I hate about Elden ring. All the bosses and enemies have these crazy abilities and you’re just some basic bitch rolling around on the floor and spamming r1

I just did my first playthrough of DD1 and finished this past weekend. Love this game and the pawn system really makes it unique. I played on a PS5 so no mods but I also own it on Steam and switched over to PC so I could use quality of life mods for follow-up playthroughs. For DD2, I will be getting it on Steam just for having that option in the future.
Kinda funny how you can see him lose stamina from Sprinting immediately after he says you don't lose stamina
Just saying, not lock on is something that needs some time to get use to but I promise once you do it makes these games 10x better. You actually have to aim the weapon, it’s another layer added on top of the mastery of the combat system. Once you see why no lock on is good, going back to a game where lock on is a thing feels like you have a lot less control and the combat is a lot less engaging.
Agreed. I'm not playing a game to have the machine do my aiming for me.
Dragons Dogma 1 was amazing, but don’t compare it to others games for views. You didn’t play the game nearly enough to know that.
In dragon's dogma 1, the auto stats,on leveling , depends on the job/class stats bonus on each level-up...is it the same case in DD2?
I believe so, probably mix it up like thief for stamina then go fighter at like level 10 for strength
Mystic Spearhand or archer, that's the 2 I can't decide between.
Seems like the spear puts out big damage and has a raged option.

I saw in the last trailer the main character was swapping weapons to different classes mid fight. I havent seen anyone else even speak on this which is crazy considering how the first game was. Will there be some kind of dual classing system or are weapons universal across classes?
That's another class called Warfarer, it can choose any three of the other classes to swap between on the fly, but it has reduced stats to compensate for the additional flexibility.

I can tell you that the 30fps thing was indeed just a rumor. Look up OSK gaming video on the matter. He breaks down frame by frame with footage captured on ps5 showing outs nowhere near 30 fps. In fact most times it's at 60 and occasionally drops in the 50's. But we should expect a performance mode to come with the game so I'm sure it will be br very possible to stay at 60 most all the time. That and the team FINALLY spoke to the rumor dispelling it

I’d have to say that despite how almost everything seems similar between Elden ring and dragons dogma in terms of RPG elements, open world, medieval setting, looting, exploring, bosses - the combat system is probably the biggest and most fundamental difference between the two games, so fundamental that these two games are in leagues of their own.
I played bloodbourne and Elden ring years after playing dragons dogma and the skill required in the combat systems of the former demands more from you than dragons dogma. This is not to say that dragons dogma is less fun, it’s just so so fundamentally different that they really can’t be compared so easily.

My problem with Dragon Dogma’s traveling was that the game wanted you to run back and forth across the map while having to deal with all the different enemies. So hopefully the narrative fixes that, im excited
Ferry stones in prime spots and your good
Ferry stones fix that. But the entire point of Dragons Dogma’s gameplay is that your supposed to take long journeys with your pawns and be prepared for it. If you don’t like that, then it isn’t the game for you.
Word Id actually like 2 too lean further into prep
Well seeing as how all the previews highly praise the emergent gameplay we for sure know Itsuno got all the feedback about that. I haven’t seen one preview where they’ve had the same experience. One of them had to fight a griffon and a ogre at the same time. Another one was being dragged away by wolves. Another one spent the entire time fighting a griffon and finding it’s nest. This won’t won’t be a static open world like DD1. One of the previews mentions how it feels like content is finding THEM, not that they are finding content.

Elden Ring set the bar pretty damn high, that game has one of the greatest open worlds and gameplay of all time. Pretty damn hard to top it.
Doesn’t matter anyway. Two totally different games your talking about here
This game won't beat it simply for the fact that its combat system is ASS or rather niche. I could NOT get into the first game cause of its combat system.

🔵Any one konws whether i can play dd2 on xbox offline or not for single player experience and just turn on the internet when hiring new pawns?
So if I'm on my ps5 and my son wants to play as well, he can't because there's only 1 save file, is that right.
Correct, but you can just make a seperate account on the console for him to play. I presume he would have his own account anyways. But if you want to make a 2nd character for yourself you would need to make a 3rd profile just to keep your 2nd character. Single Save is stupid & outdated.
Look, I love Dragons dogma, a lot, like played the original several times over a lot and I know for a fact that at the very least this is a BOLD statement to make. Won’t lie it feels good to hear someone think this about a game series I love but I love Elden ring too and Elden ring is like close to perfection in my eyes.
Pawns are humanlike individuals from another dimension without emotions and an undying loyalty to the Arisen. They are not slaves, they are bound. This was explained in one of the first dialogues of the first game, when you meet your first Pawn.
