It seems like Crystal Dynamics nailed the storytelling, but was forced to add the live service elements which completely ruined the game.

One good thing i can say about Knights is how it handled Harley. Its an interesting deviation and i think it shows that she can work as a full on villain , not just a henchman-woman. The voice actress was good at portaying an older Quinn who got over the Joker. Her outfit in the final mission was 10/10 design wise. And you cant tell me her prison sequence with Livin La Vida Loca playing in the background was not hype as hell
Live service for what should be single player focused games makes games bs tbh. Because for me, I enjoyed Avengers (combat) and Gotham Knights(Nightwing specifically). But the live service focus and rpg focus really ruins that type of game. Look at the Arkham games too, they didnt have suit parts that change stats. It was just new moves and gadgets to unlock and for me, thats what made it so enjoyable. Adding in that you could just change suits is way better than changing suit parts for stats.
As my personal opinion as someone who tried all 3, I felt like Avengers was fun... for the first 2 hrs. Gotham Knights was fun. It was no Batman Arkham, but it was fun. I couldn't stand Suicide Squad it's so mean spirited for no reason. Keep in mind that I bought all of these on sale after the game came out
The "live service" comes from the corporations. And the mid stories come from writers who want to please "modern audiences" by being as dull, inoffensive, and cookie cutter as possible
It's simple really, combine the success with Fortnite and other live service games with superheroes. The problem is that people are tired of superhero movies and devs think they can attract them with video games. Hopefully this is the end of superhero live service games.
Outstanding quality video! Subscribed--- i have to say jm crossing ny fingers for Blade, Wolverine and upcoming comic book videogames. They need to pour more love into the game as opposed to chasing money....
I'm actually playing Gotham Knights at the moment, and I find myself ... enjoying it. The fact I expected it to be bad may factor in, but I'm having fun nevertheless. I did also play Avengers and I did not enjoy it at all. Gotham Knights was a way more enjoyable experience to me. A bit grindy and repetitive yes, but I'm having fun dagnabbit! As for Suicide Squad, it just doesn't appeal to me at all. But to each their own. Why I enjoy Gotham Knights is a mystery to me, but ... I do.
Only played Marvel Avengers, SOLOD the whole lot. Platinum was easy once i figured out i can just run past enemies in the hives and hold circle till i hit transition, 50 hive trophy still took me 12-20 hours but cut down on the grind of not having to fight through all 5 levels. the other two....didnt even bother to look at it. never will.
They show investors Fortnite and tell them that this game will get all of that golden mom’s credit card money. They never will though, that won’t stop them from trying and failing.
I like the idea they bring light to Heroes/Villains we barely see games for. Obviously they could have done a better job I don’t praise these games but I like the concept.
I found avengers rlly fun. I liked the story and the characters. However the promised stuff never coming and the live service aspect is what killed it. Also it gets boring quickly as most missions are the same. Gotham knights was pretty good. Story was decent and the characters were fun. Combat was cool but idk it felt too difficult to me but then again I wasn’t used to it much. What killed it was its comparisons to the Arkham franchise. SSKTJL was pretty fun. Good story (until we start to kill the justice league. When that happens it all becomes shit) and fun traversal. However the skins in shop are awful reskins and the content in season 1 is so disappointing as there just isn’t much new content. Just reused content. Overall they are ok side games to play but they are all underwhelming in the long run. I did enjoy all three and probs will but avengers and ssktjl felt too much of a grind and Gotham knights is good but there is just something about it which doesn’t look right. I rlly hope we get more games like Gotham knights and Arkham games where it has a good single player story and other characters to select and play as well. Also one thing I dislike game wise about each is: avengers for me takes AGES TO LOAD (although that could be a me problem tbh), Gotham knights felt rlly laggy on pc (again probs a me problem) and finally SSKTJL had the problem of basically every character feeling the same.
I feel like these games could've worked, if they didn't try to copy Fortnite, having battle passes, always online, having multiple seasons, etc. Like if they just made the games like normal single player (or at most co-op) games with no seasons, no battle passes, no updates to improve the game later, they would be written and handled, and even better received. Instead of being forced to fight an army of copy/paste enemies over and over to grind and "level up" to artificially extend the game's "Story", if you could just... progress through naturally by beating levels, then so many issues would be fixed. Of course the writing quality of said stories is another story, but you get the point.
Just FYI, but Gotham Knights had none of those things (: No seasons, no passes, no mtx, all outfits earned in game. It doesn't even require an online connection to play.
Avengers was a good game, I've completed the single player campaign and was satisfied. Gotham Knights is a good game, I've completed it solo and also played it with a friend, it was very fun
As an exoprimal fan I really laughed at suicide squad. Everybody Shitted on Capcom, but money practises aside, at least exoprimal was a functional game with cool unique suits and Dinos to shoot at.
Suicide squad was made for us. It’s just WB got it’s hands all over it and monetized the hell out of it. You can even tell the developers are trying hard to put it off because they’re making duplicate skins. Like you have a few different JL costumes and a few different classic outfits Gotham knights was dead because it got compared to Arkham. If it was completely disconnected from Arkham somehow it would have been much better received For avengers. Yeah I’m not defending this.

If they would have based Marvel's Avengers on the Non-MCU, it would have been MUCH better,
Outstanding quality video!
Platinum was easy once i figured out i can just run past enemies in the hives and hold circle till i hit transition, 50 hive trophy still took me 12-20 hours but cut down on the grind of not having to fight through all 5 levels.
the other two....didnt even bother to look at it. never will.
I liked the story of Gotham Knights until the ending.
They show investors Fortnite and tell them that this game will get all of that golden mom’s credit card money. They never will though, that won’t stop them from trying and failing.
They were made for money, not for people.
video start at 1:00
I like the idea they bring light to Heroes/Villains we barely see games for. Obviously they could have done a better job I don’t praise these games but I like the concept.
Who were these games made for? The MBA executives.
i loved gotham knights. the co op campaign was so much fun
Never played Fortnite never have never will and im a never say never kinda a guy.
It's a actually not as bad as it seems, I would give it a try at least once
I actually liked Gotham knights, especiallly compared to the other games here. It’s not Arkham but I found some fun in it
These games are made for money and that's it.
Can't wait for the next Spider-Man 4 video.
In due time brother 🫡
These games didn’t even release updates enough to make you want to spend money 😭 that’s rule number 1 of this type of thing
Gotham Knights wasn't a live service game, so there's no reason to have expected them to release updates like that.
Why does everyone put images created with AI in these kinds of videos??
Why not?
@@Yourfat247 because IA sucks
Executives, next question
As an exoprimal fan I really laughed at suicide squad. Everybody Shitted on Capcom, but money practises aside, at least exoprimal was a functional game with cool unique suits and Dinos to shoot at.
One is worse heavily than the others
Right ssktjl
Nothing will ever disappoint me more than Arkham Knights best should have been a masterpiece open world RPG Batman come on how did they mess that up
Suicide squad was made for us. It’s just WB got it’s hands all over it and monetized the hell out of it. You can even tell the developers are trying hard to put it off because they’re making duplicate skins. Like you have a few different JL costumes and a few different classic outfits
Gotham knights was dead because it got compared to Arkham. If it was completely disconnected from Arkham somehow it would have been much better received
For avengers. Yeah I’m not defending this.
Looking forward to that red dead video. This one is good too.
Great brake down man keep it up
Good video dude.
